But zzs did understand him. That’s why we got that flashback of zzs killing innocents and then zzs drinking himself silly. He realized his own hypocrisy. The series just shows us how they come to accept and understand the other, expanding on the novel.

Ep 9 to 18 already established that zzs returns wkx’s feelings so him knowing that wkx is his shidi doesn’t really change their dynamics. Plus wkx as early as episode 6 already knew he was zzs’ shidi but he still pursued him. And being in the same clan doesn’t mean they can’t be together. I mean how many danmies are their where the shizun and his disciple get together?
