Lian is played by Zee Pruk Panich, and if you want to see him act in a series with real chemistry and a great partner then watch Why R U with Saint as his partner, they were amazing together.

I agree with you. I think Zee is doing great with his character, but no matter how hard I try I just can't like Kuea and don't feel any real chemistry between Zee & New.

A fair amount of BL fans - more precisely a fair amount of straight female BL fans - only like boys being cute…
Those are also some good ones. I've been consuming mostly Asian media since being with my Asian husband and spending so much time with his family, so that was my first "go to" region 🤣

Is BL really queer media? It's really more about straight boys in love in a totally not-gay way, which is why…
"And the whole argument, that if you want more actual couple affection and sex scenes in gay / lesbian dramas, that you are fetishizing them is kinda backwards homophobia and asuming shit about individual viewers."

I couldn't possibly agree more!! As a bisexual adult female (48) young folks love to tell me who all I'm supposedly fetishizing: Asian men, gay men, lesbian women... when the truth is I just have certain preferences. I like men, I like that their physique, in general, is stronger and more muscular. I think two men engaging in intimate activity is sexy and beautiful. Two beautiful masculine sets of arms, hands, the chests, shoulders, etc... strong masculine hands grasping strong masculine shoulders, etc... it's beautiful and wonderful!! (I do have many gay friends, and my thinking that they're so beautiful together never bothers them. 🤷‍♀️) I'm married to an Asian man, I generally prefer Asian physical traits. Not to say other men aren't handsome, but I've spent 23 years in love with Asian features, around Asian communities and consuming Asian media - I can't help it if exposure = attraction. So yeah, I prefer Asian men. However, being bi and having had multiple girlfriends in the past I love lesbian media as well. I find women to be softer, more gentle and more attentive to other women than men usually are. They are sexy and wonderful. Oddly, something that doesn't really tickle my fancy is most hetero romance/erotic media. Not sure why, but whatever. Because of that I'm constantly being told that I obviously just fetishize Asian men, gay men & lesbians. I wish more people would learn what a true fetish really is and the difference between fetishization and a preference. I'm also a member of the BDSM community, I *do* in fact have some fetishes, but those aren't them. LOL

As for BL / BL fans in general -- I think many are young and confused and enjoy the hint of "naughty" or spice in their media but don't understand that the content doesn't accurately represent the real world. People don't regularly go around thinking "I'm straight, except for you" like they do in BL's. I think what is ultimately getting their motors running is the voyeurism into a different lifestyle that they're not usually exposed to and that excites them. They aren't looking for real, they just want to feel like they're a part of something that isn't their norm and they like men, so seeing two handsome men together is appealing. They wouldn't have even an iota of interest if their window into their fantasy wasn't attractive and didn't have power dynamic issues. 😁😁

I don't feel any heat at all, except what radiates from Zee naturally. I don't think this is a very good pairing.…
I agree with you completely. Zee definitely radiates an aura of appeal that's unmistakable, but the chemistry between actua just isn't there. It's like they are friends and get along really well, but the expressions and the eyes don't have a language all their own that says, "I need you" like what Zee had with Saint. Just my two cents.

I'm absolutely *loving* this series so far, I'm very entertained and I think everyone is playing their character very well. Everyone works very well together.

However! At least as of yet, I don't feel the heated chemistry between NuNew and Zee that Zee had with Saint in Why R U. Don't get me wrong, they're doing great together, but I just felt that Zee & Saint had an extra spark that doesn't exist here.
