Wow, did you and I watch the same drama? When does the FL ever make the ML jealous? When does the FL ever want…
well the difference is the number.
there's tons of dramas without love triangles, and there's tons of watchers who avoid them. just read the comments in this same site and look how many ask the question"does it have love triangles?"
here's a list of dramas without annoying triangles (or if they have one, the drama is so good that it compensates the triangle, like this drama), or it is indicated in the comments
Wow, did you and I watch the same drama? When does the FL ever make the ML jealous? When does the FL ever want…
I disagree on both of your definitions.
Harem show. Just look any harem shows, for example anime, where it happens a lot. In many of them, its many girls pursuing the teen ML and he is almost oblivious about it. In no way does harem mean the guy or girl is pursuing all the guys girls, it means they are pursuing him/her. (talking about harem shows, not what a harem means in real life) This is because harem shows try to catter the guilty pleasure of boys/girls beeing pursued by many of the opposite sex. Not the other way around, one pursuing many....
Triangles. Again, in no way must the girl/guy be interested in many parties. As long as theres more than one love interest, its a triangle.
Funny thing is, theres shows with much lighter triangles than this one, which are still love triangles. Trying to say this one, where she even is engaged, where she fights like crazy to not break that engagement, where she doesnt even want to meet ML during that time and avoids him like crazy, where ML already loves her before and during that time....is not a love triangle... is almost funny
Oh and I am likeing the show. It is so good, that I am likeing it despite all that.
Wow, did you and I watch the same drama? When does the FL ever make the ML jealous? When does the FL ever want…
You seem to not have read my comments above. I even explained what you say specifically in one of them.
She is not forced to love anybody. If this was real live. But this is a romance. I am not mad with FL. I am mad with the scriptwriters. I want to watch a "love like the galaxy". Not a "ML loves FL like the galaxy while FL is strong and independant and minds her own business for 90% of the show".
And you talk about me wanting tropes while defending love triangles? I am saying, I want romances to have both leads showing more or less the same amount of love. And of course, no love triangles. It's you who seem to enjoy tropes, not me. Trianlges, and one lead likeing the other one more, is much more tropeish than what I ask for.
I just started rewatching too!!! I think her mother's depiction is realistic. She came back and realized that…
That's crazy. Your argument is like saying: "I made my kid work when he was 6, now guess how strong and independant he is at 20!". Or, exagerating more: "I beat my son sometimes, and now he is much resilent than the otehr kids"!!! Well, sure, but...
Sure, FL turned strong and independant in part "thanks" to her mother. But that is not better than having experienced mother love. The script goes far overboard with her, and I dont mean only for the beatings. A good example is when we hear the mother speak with her friend, kind of admiting she went overboard disciplining her... and the next scene its a festivity her daughter never attended, and the mother still goes, grabs yan yang infront of her daughter, and tells her: "you've never been here, come with me, let us enjoy it" and leave the daughter behind. She hadnt even done anything wrong at that point. Didnt make any sense at all. That doesnt have anything to do with disciplining or independance or even protecting yang yang. She was just mean to FL
Scriptwriters may have wanted to show what you explain, but they went too far by a lot.
Wow, did you and I watch the same drama? When does the FL ever make the ML jealous? When does the FL ever want…
It wasnt a sudden breakup, it took some time. The events that end with the breakup start in 19 and in 21 she finally decides to give up and convinces the other guy to also give up
Wow, did you and I watch the same drama? When does the FL ever make the ML jealous? When does the FL ever want…
well, yeah, love square, even worse. the first guy was already annoying enough (not the guy himself, the entire plot about another guy). and then they had to add ANOTHER one... omg. they really went all out on tickling girls guilty pleasure.
Wow, did you and I watch the same drama? When does the FL ever make the ML jealous? When does the FL ever want…
All those things you list as good things, I already noticed them. That's why I am still watching and enjoying the drama. Even more, that I still think the drama is very good, even with all the crap I listed, speaks of how good everything else is.
I would still totally recommend the show, I am enjoying it. But I am enjoying it despite the onesided romance, not thanks to it.
Wow, did you and I watch the same drama? When does the FL ever make the ML jealous? When does the FL ever want…
Not exactly, altho some of the dramas you listed are indeed very good.
What I want is chemistry. And chemistry cant happen if the love is very onesided. A show with chemistry can be slowburn, but that means, both of them slowly fall in love more and more.
In this show, ML falls instantly for her (like you try to mock on the shows you list). And FL doesnt slowly fall for him more and more.
She doesnt want anything to do with him, until in episode 27 she realizes he helped her, then she goes from 0 to 50. She still doesnt like him, just thinks she is good for her. And then in episode 38 when they "torture" him, she again goes from 50 to 100 and finally loves him.
But during 38 episodes it was completly onesided. It was a show for girls enjoying having the amazing ML constantly be in awe of FL while she minds her own business.
You accuse me of wanting tropes, but you find the love triangles and that ML instantly falls for her at first sight fine. xD

when did I say FL was evil or something? it's disgusting scriptwise. the triangles, FL not really loving him until episode 38, ML needing to carry all the romance, him having to endure FL with other guys while already loving her...it's not that FL is bad, it's the script that is annoying in that regard
What? Where the heck did you get that idea? What dope you smoking?
I wont write everything I already wrote again, you can read my other messages. But here's something new: Im on episode 33. ML has been in love with her for like 30 episodes. FL still hasnt shown a sign of love. Yet scriptwriters think it's more important to create yet another scene where ML has to apologize to FL again. The show is good. But their relationship is clearly thought to please girls guilty pleasure.
Why did you define it by those useless things, it offers much more than those corny thing; motherhood, friendship,…
I literally said "everything else is good"
But the onesided effort in their love, the stupid love triangles (in plural!), the breakup, the "ML has to apologize and FL to forgive like aaaalways".... All that sucks and makes this not be a masterpiece.
I am still watching the show despite that crap, so it means the rest is very good.
Thank you so much. Chinese TV series made to satisfy women's ego are truly disgusting. You saved my time.
i mean, the show it's still good. everything else is amazing. but their relationship is indeed aimed at girls guilty please of the most powerful guy loving FL like crazy, pursuing her, and doing all the work while she is just "strong and independent".
still, the rest is very good so I wouldn't completely discard it. And FL is still lovely, this doesn't make her annoying like other shows. it just lets you... wanting to see her do some effort too. but not hate her
Some watchers like dramas with plot. Even if its a romance, they think some things need to happen. Others, enjoy just a beautiful romance.
So the ones thinking dramas should have a plot beasides the romance, find these type of dramas bad. People who just want a beautiful romance, love it.
what do you mean? I was told it was very lighthearted

I don't like one-sided loves in any direction. having dramas were it's the opposite is no excuse to make it the other way
