This is fantastic! The episodes fly by and you do not want to miss even a minute. The only downside is the week until the next episode is taking forever.
I cannot count the number of times that I have watched and truly enjoyed Beautiful Mind and Falling for Innocence (the series and favorite episodes). Come Back Mister was a fun one time watch for me. I would add to this list Children of a Lesser God. It was one of my favorites from 2018, but it has not had many viewers due to bad subs and lack of availability on legal sites.
My " must watch" dramas for 2018 Korean - My Mister, Life on Mars, The Smile Has Left Your Eyes, Children of a Lesser God, Sky Castle, Misty, and Eulachaha Waikiki.
I truly enjoyed the Chinese drama Old Boy even though it went on a bit longer than necessary. I am hoping to watch Like a Flowing River and NIF2.
There are many 2018 Japanese dramas that received good reviews and I would really like to watch them but they are difficult to find on legal sites.
If ya'll had to choose would you choose saving Woojoo but also ruining your daughter's chance of going to SNU…
I am not a strong person and I do not always make the right choices, but I truly believe that I would save Woojoo. I would have to since I believe that with support my daughter can survive the fallout of the stolen exam scandal and go on to live a decent life. I do not believe she could ever survive a life knowing that she sacrificed another person's life and family. This would be true no matter if it was her crush or a stranger.
But I do not think that this mother is capable of letting go of her dreams or thinking logically. She repeatedly visibly blocks the emotions and thoughts that would stop her from acting selfishly and she rationalizes every horrific act as a sacrifice for her daughter.
Thoughts about Han Seo Jin / Kwak Mi Huang character after episode 18At first I thought Seo Jin wanting her daughter…
As the parents are struggling with the consequences of their actions I cannot help but feel pity for those who are still unable or unwilling to take responsibility because they will never be able to change their family's circumstances. The Hwang's take responsibility for their actions and I am able to forgive their careless mistakes since it would be difficult to keep a clear train of thought while desperately searching for answers that may save their son. Side Note - The preview to ep. 19 looks truly heartbreaking. I hope that it is not as it seems.
Why would she commit suicide when she's yet to achieve her goal.
I didn't notice any of those details, but I was not paying close attention. I just remember the rust comment. I cannot wait to find out how this all unfolds. I may have to rewatch before the next episodes :)
I had a very different experience from yours. I was truly impressed with the 2018 Korean dramas for outstanding writing, direction, and performances that kept me completely immersed while watching the drama, between episodes, and even after the series had ended. My Mister, Just Between Lovers, LIfe on Mars, The Smile Has Left Your Eyes and Children of a Lesser God are my top favorites. It is my hope that these uniquely beautiful and thoughtful dramas challenge and inspire other writers, directors, and actors in future dramas.

I'm reposting some of my earlier thoughts below because there continues to be a misconception about the incest…
Please try not to be too disappointed by the writer's removal of the true sibling incest trope. Even in the original, it was never necessary to the plot - It was not the core of the love and attraction that drew the ML and FL together. - The only part it played was a means for the ML to separate from the FL in a moment of noble idiocy. This was done just as effectively and more tragically in the Korean version. - It was not the core reason that the FL's brother was so vehemently opposed to the relationship - The FL's choice to murder the ML then take her own life at the end of the original had nothing to do with incest. - It did not add in any way to the exploration of human nature vs nurture or good vs evil. * I should also mention that I am not offended by or intolerant of the theme of incest in literature, theater or film. I grew up reading and enjoying Greek mythology, pop teen Gothic novels, and literary classics with incest as a theme. The original was a favorite at the time. I have just always felt that the use of the true incest trope detracted from the original story as if the writers just threw in an easy pop taboo for shock appeal.
I would have preferred it if they had really been siblings and killed each other in the end but the plot was still…
I'm reposting some of my earlier thoughts below because there continues to be a misconception about the incest storyline as used in the original Japanese Drama. This is unfortunate since it impacts some viewers' ability to fully enjoy this Korean version of the drama.
