Me too! I kept singing praises about it when I first watched it. It was one of the few dramas where I could say, "It was perfect!" And since you mentioned switching partners, the most interesting was the odd pair -- Reiko and Usa-tan! Lol. The pervert and seductress haha! Well I also liked Kiku-rin and Reiko. The "perfect" doctor finally met an opponent he deserves. And Yukichi and Kairi is just- They're like two innocent bunnies haha. I can't forget that ice munching scene! Haaaa now I have to watch it again...

Sadly, the dream only happened once lol. I guess a VR where you get to pick the people and scenario in it would be awesome. Now, I would definitely buy that and that would probably cure my drama addiction haha.

Yes, he's the first person I know that died because of that, so I got affected during that time even if I'm just a fan. The worse part is this year there are several Japanese celebrities who committed suicide. I'm guessing COVID and isolation played a huge part. And yeah, he is gorgeous and so is his smile. Plus it helps that he can act, dance, and sing to add to his many charms. The guy was doing a lot of projects this year (new album, films, dramas) too and a lot became unfinished.

Lucky! I'm sure there are a lot of good-looking people there. I want to visit there too when this is over. I know. Asian Dramas are great escapism. Been doing it for 10+ years now haha.

Long answer: He commited suicide back in July, so I changed my photo in memory of him. He had a lot of awesome works with deep stories and rich characters. I recommend Bloody Monday, Okane no Kireme ga Koi no Hajimari, and Banana? At This Time of Night? (film based on a true story). He even acted in theatre - Kinky Boots.

I said the same thing. He's big figure too when it comes to the early Jdoramas that garnered many international fans. Bloody Monday, Koizora, Kimi no Todoke, etc. When those shows came out, those were the heydays of Jdoramas for international fans. I remember that there was a time that it was bigger than Kdramas, albeit, for a very short period.

Now I'm reminded of the good ole days of MySoju, D-addicts, Dramafever, Crunchyroll, and Viiikiii (now Viki).

Dude! We think alike! Whenever I see awesome tv characters I kept thinking, "So where can I buy/get one?" Believe me, I have my savings ready, so LDH is on my wish list too haha.

I forgot to add, Dias Police is good too. I'm sure you know he's good with those cool and mysterious characters, so I think you'll like his character there. I admit I haven't watch a lot of his shows since it's hard to find subs and his shows after Liar Game and HYD are not that popular internationally.

Oh you have to watch Love Shuffle! That's my favorite Jdorama. His awesomely hot there too. He also had a cameo (and so did the rest of F4) in Hana Nochi Hare. It's a sequel of HYD, if you didn't know and I like the different plot.

Agree! I watched it when it was still airing while looking at the live comments on Viki (when it was stil Viiikiii), so it was fun watching it with others. I can tell you that there's nothing like it eversince and I was like a freshman in high school too when I first watched it. Let's just say, "it opened my eyes." Haha.

Haha. I know! It feels like window shopping when you're just looking at them through your tv screen lol.

You look at their pretty pretty eyes instead (and maybe body) and hope the rest under the mask is good too, but so far none haha.

I second the motion! I can go on and on how they're the best out of all Asian dramas when it comes to slice-of-life dramas.

I feel like Miura Haruma not being mentioned here was on purpose. Is he considered a taboo topic? Just curious because he was the cover of this article too, but his works were never mentioned nor was he part of the "Know Your Actors" segment.

After watching episode four, I made a checklist:

Male lead who is a progressive thinker regarding gender roles - check.
*He thinks there's no such thing as "women should act as women" and "men should act like men."

Female lead who thinks a wedding is not important nor fancies it - check.

Female lead who doesn't like the idea of wearing a 3-layered wedding dress only to look like a puppet- check.

Male lead who agrees to all these practical ideas and breaking norms or traditions - check.

I think 2020 is the year for Cdramas finally breaking the typical wishy washy weak female stereotypes where a woman has no dream in life and just fantizes having a wedding with her prince charming who saves her day. Every day.

I can't help but notice that the instrumental song they use is from the Kdrama Tomorrow With You. I've also noticed before that some Cdramas are using background music from Kdramas.
