bc when it was aired on tv, there was a limit on how many ads you could run during an episode. to bypass that, they'd separate a 1hr episode into 2 30min ones, so they could run more ads. depending on where you watch the show you'll have it either as a 1hr ep or as 30min eps

the world isn't black and white and i say SOME. i think everyone in the world is fighting their own battles and life is nuanced. idk how much you know of the original, but haejun's mother didn't WANT to leave him, she loved and adored him but circumstances caused the separation and now she's just ashamed to be back in her son's life. i think losing a child, dealing with grief, needing to make the tough decision of leaving your son to secure him a better life etc are all things to sympathize with. you can then go make judgements on their actions, and choose who is or isn't redeemable (to me haejun's mother is but sanha's isn't). i think i was very clear you dont have to be so combative just bc you dont choose to approach the story the same as me

personally i found it refreshing to see a drama where women get to be negative yet layered. i'm not the biggest fan of redeeming bio parents in stories with adoption themes but nonetheless i think that while dramas have bad parents all around it was new to see a drama that had the men be emotional and the caregivers and stepping into the largely feminine role while the women got to be selfish and flawed while ultimately deserving of some sympathy

was just coming on to write that i don't think all the bio parent storylines translate that well in only 16 episodes... they should have cut stuff. but yes other than that it's really good!

they explain she was not living at home then, it was after her father died and she went to college. maybe she heard his name (ji uk) but there'd be no reason for her to connect the two. maybe i'm wrong but i also thought he only realized who she was when he saw he mother at the wedding? but even if he knew right away, they did hate each other, i don't think she left a good impression esp if he was comparing her to her mother. later, when he liked her and could have told her, he already knew of how complicated her relationship was with her mother esp bc she was fostering kids. imo yeah it's kinda far-fetched but no more than most other dramas

hmm i can't remember exact episode numbers or details but due to certain circumstances when the sees her in the future she tells him to break up with her in the past which creates some angst. the crux of the story is that he disappears at one point due to time travel, which is the main source of angst and they do separate for a while

i hope so as well! i've seen some mainstream kdramas add an lgbt character here and there but it has still been very lowkey and they often weren't able to get their own romance or ending (nevertheless did a great job, but for example love in contract had a gay character they didn't really do anything with - but still refreshing that they had a character just be gay i guess? another example is she would never know doing a very oldschool closeted husband plot, but ultimately skr never told those stories in the mainstream. my disappointment was hometown cha cha cha not doing a very obvious sapphic romance sadly but they had a lesbian character etc. be melodramatic did as well as they could for the time imo). still i hope more and more shows start embracing these stories even in the sidelines, but especially as proper stories in a mainstream serious high-budget show. the audience is there!

what do you mean by "actors like taecyeon" lmao also why would this be very bad for his career? other actors have played gay roles and other idol actors have played gay roles. "10 year love story between two men" is very clearly a romance lmao why else would it be described as such

taecyeon is also playing a gay character on a show and people made similar homophobic comments

unfortunately i'm in the minority that did not like that show lol but i do always hope to be proven wrong/open to being blown away so we'll see. i wasn't too impressed by her so far but everything can change with a new role.

if you want to see more of sungjae i recommend mystic pop-up bar and golden spoon! the first one is very wholesome fantasy, one of my favorites :)

i really don't understand where y'all are getting these very extreme reads about his age, stuff he hasn't even said. imo it's normal that he's expressing some emotions over it as 1) he literally had a life-threatening condition which can just happen. he could have gotten his intestines twisted in multiple ways. and 2) he's been most known for taking on very action-heavy roles. i used to do dance - all of my coaches had back issues and ruptured discs by 40. my friend who did judo most of his life has barely working knees at 26. your unhealthy lifestyle in the entertainment industry seems to be implying substances when it's just a man doing a job and feeling the repercussions of it - just how a construction worker feels it, or my dad who did sports events and worked on radio has much shittier hearing at his age than someone else would.
