I only see bits of it as in abusing my power of fast forwarding some (actually most) episodes but IMO, i kinda understand with some of the comments about the 'unhealthy relationship' portrayed in the drama. Coz it does bother me quite a lot by the way the FL was being treated by the ML - maybe the ML got a little bit carried away in acting out his character that QJH was portrayed as a bit 'toooo much'.
Sigh… imo, a bit disappointing even after ‘taking out’ the logic part of the overall drama especially after watching Wan Peng’s - When We Were Young. There were more awkward ‘acting moments’ between the characters: their friendship/ bestie/ love relationship. The plot itself may not be my cup of tea but I don’t mind it at all if the overall execution of each characters seems more natural.
Should I continue watching this? I'm at episode 4 and I watch it because of Jasper Liu. I also looking forward…
We have the same reason coz i love, love, love Begin Again - an amazing drama. So, imo for this one; 1. Don’t expect too much coz u will be disappointed. 2. If u still wanna brave it out, i proposed that u wait till the drama is completed so u can binge watch it as in u’ll have the power to fast fwd it LOL.
I’m pausing the drama at ep12 now (i ran out of reasons trying to justify the whole story). And taking my own advice to have the power to fast fwd it lol (not sure tho if i still wanna continue watching it).
In a nutshell: Superb, amazing, entertaining. The casts, the storyline, the production, the execution of it all…
Ending: definitely a happy one. But i get it that there are some who may thought that it left us with something more but imo, the ending is just right.
Realistically, after high school, most of us will go our separate ways in realising our dreams but their friendship will stand through time and there are hints everywhere and thats why i believed the ending is just right.
ST’s father bought HB’s house coz he knows that HB will be back. HB’s letter to YX asking her to keep calling him his nickname when they meet at the university. Coz HB just needs some time to travel with his grandma as she may not have much time left coz she’s quite old.
LY said he’ll be waiting for YX in Japan - even just as a visit. And even HM may become a flight attendant which means she could visit them anytime.
These hints in the ending were just perfect to indicate that their friendship will remain strong.
In a nutshell: Superb, amazing, entertaining. The casts, the storyline, the production, the execution of it all made it possible. Its like you’re ‘there’ with them rather than just simply watching it as a viewer.
Reached the end of the drama. IMO (logic aside LOL) it's not that bad. The side stories were quite entertaining so its kinda lessen out the unnecessary draggy moments which is necessary as they need to stretched it out to 30 eps. Worth to watch it at least one time.
Good drama especially when the ML was not portrayed as the super famous, super cool, 'untouchable' hero. The high school relationships among all casts were sweet. The ML acting was okay as we could see the differences in his acting as high school vs university student. But the FL kinda 'got stuck in high school'. Her acting as a high school student was on point but sad to say that a a University student, it's kinda a bit of a let down. She could've played out the character better.
@dorothy w wong - loves your positive attitude '... continue to watch it' '...don't give up'. If you're up to 25+ episode, might as well continue to watch it just to get that closure. Will it be worth it? We could only know at the end of that 30th ep. LOL.
We are used to it now. All the Idols when they act in drama they have too much makeup on.
Agree that it's common for idols or even most actors to have too much makeup on and I kinda get used to it as well but this time, Ouyang's makeup managed to surprise me at another level. LOL.
I second all of you.To your last question what do you think where she will get this help from? Ofcourse our perfect…
Oh no... I'm at ep.12 and I'm almost at the end of losing my patience - wondering why he didn't reveal the truth when he had so many chances to do so, so they could move to the next chapter of their relationship, so he could share an umbrella with her when it rains, so he could be there and nurse her when she's sick, so he could comfort and hug her when she needs it.
Sigh... I have to agree with most of the comments about this drama. I like the ML and FL as actors and I was looking forward to this one. In terms of their acting/ performances they portray their characters as they should be (kinda). But the flow of the drama itself (I'm at ep. 12 now) is a a bit of a let down and maybe it's because I was expecting more. To those who are yet to start watching this one, it may be best if you wait for the drama to be completed so you could binge watch it. It could be quite frustrating to wait for days for the next ep., waiting for it to pick up.
this could never be called a cliche. when I say this I dont mean it to be a compliment. I rather watch a cliche…
Thx for the review - at least i know what to be expected coz i jz saw a bit of ep1 and i have a feeling that the storyline is not that interesting as well. Hunting for the next one then. 😁
It's been a while since I watched a drama that I feel like slapping some characters to wake them up...but then…
Totally agree with your first sentence - feels like giving a good shake to some of the characters but then again, that's Drama for us. And sometime the story lines are just too sweet to swallow but yet, those are the things that gives us butterflies watching it and that's what fluffy, dreamlike, fairy tale dramas are all about or supposed to be (imo). And sometime, we need such Drama to lighten up some of our days (at least 'my days') LOL.
Just my 2 cents; Cast/ acting: preferred KVersion especially the FL and SFL. They really brought out the bestie relationship come to live - they even called each other 'wifey'. Then again, this is possible coz its longer than the Japan's by more than 5 eps. Story pace: Japan nails it as it focuses on FL-ML.
Both versions are actually quite good and has its own charm. CVersion - haven't watch it yet.
Just finished ep 12 with subs and it is one of the best drama I've seen. There were so many stories shared and to put it all together within the 14+ hours, it was truly superb. The beauty of it all was, it was executed and flows beautifully. The casts brought the characters to life and it feels just right.
I just finished this and omg I cried so much in the last ep. I had a feeling in the beginning that xu yuan and…
ikr. But i never thought that they actually break up. I thought that maybe somehow they'll find the middle ground and try to work things out because they somehow complement each other. But still, the break up was so mature that it's sweet none the less. I really like how Xu Yan 'grows' throughout the episodes.
