Since I failed my first attempt to 'not watch it' yet i just completed 12 eps. I'm telling myself to wait till it finish before I continue watching it because I can't imagine waiting for new episodes especially during their 'breakup period'.
Just saw first ep. So far, I'm like totally hooked. imo - casts are not just good looking - they managed to bring 'life' to their characters. Though it may be too early to say so based on one episode but sometime (as in some... time) - you just have that feeling that this would be worth watching for. LOL
@greenteaberry I also laughed at the 'kissing without brushing their teeth' part - and he even flipped back the first few pages to see whether it was mentioned that they brushed their teeth first. LMAO
Sigh... plot was ok, casts were ok but the overall execution of the drama is kinda disappointing. I believe it could have been better. Even the 2 special episode was kinda wasted ... Spoiler: Ep 1-6 kinda worth watching but then i skipped directly to ep16 and yes I've to to fast fwd it still.
Just completed ep 49 and I have to say that this is a great drama of all time. Firstly, the subbers, thank you very much for the on point translation. Without them, the story itself may not be as impactful as it was meant to be for a non-Chinese speaking as myself.
Congrats to all the production crew and the casts. A good story is just a good story if the cast can't deliver it to the T. And no matter how good an actor you are, without the best script, without the best team behind you, you're just an actor. Everybody has shown the best team work and thus, a great drama emerged.
Before I watch ep49 with sub, I was disappointed that it doesn't explore more on BaiJue-Shanggu love story but now that I 'understood' it, the ending is just right.

At first, I thought the same thing. But if we look at the overall story, the FL sacrificed herself first so, its kinda balanced out everything, maybe? And when Bai Jue woke up first, she (as Houchi) kinda had her heart broken by 'Bai Jue' saying that Qingmu is 'dead'. And when Shanggu woke up - she was made a fool-off by everybody coz she doesn't remember anything. So... I guess, the story kinda balanced off itself. I'm just a bit (a teeny weeny bit) disappointed coz there's lack of love story between Bai Jue and Shanggu as themselves after they both 'woke up'.
One sentence: I need a sequel for Tian Qi and Yue Mi, please.

Yup - it makes more sense now. I was wondering why Bai Jue is not 'excited' to see Houchi. Because he knows that Houchi is just a reincarnation of Shanggu and not 'actual Shanggu'. At this time, Bai Jue protects Houchi coz he has the memory of Qingmu.

So, Houchi is a reincarnation of Shanggu but she's not really Shanggu per se - but with the remnants of Shanggu's 'original being' in Houchi - so she is actually Shanggu - the actual same person.
