Title My Girl
Oh my goodness. episode 16 is really hitting me in the feels. That scene in the rain and with Polar Star by Chen Xue Ran playing! I am loving this drama, by the way!

I can't be the only one that sorta wishes they go the direction of the fake marriage becoming real. With the father…
I think the Dad is still devoted to his dead wife. I am thinking maybe the youngest son will fall for her. SA looked a bit suspicious when he heard that youngest bought a new fridge... Maybe the youngest won't but 3rd son will still get a little jealous because youngest really needs a lot of attention.
On Brilliant Heritage Jul 10, 2020
kind of waiting to see if the youngest will have a crush on her, or if the if the 3rd will just think he does and get jealous. - previews looking like 2nd son approaches her mom, next week. hmmm... is it all just fun and games til someone tattles to your mommy? we will see :)

I am still watching daily. Fun drama. I love that the youngest son is starting to do so well, because he finally has a parental figure giving him rules and consequences.

Title Under the Power Spoiler
i've watched only 13 episodes and i must say both the main lead doing great job as per the performance but still…
I can see you interpreting it, that way, since Lu Yi first comes to respect her skills, and they grow a mutual respect and trust in life and death situations, before falling in love. Up to ep. 13, they haven't fallen in love with each other yet. Although Lu Yi is obviously interested, Jin Xia is still pretty oblivious, at that point. Don't judge from the last ep either, because it was a bit disappointing.
This drama is definitely not perfect, but I think they did an amazing job at pacing the relationship/romance of Lu Yi and Jin Xia. The actual romantic feelings don't start until ep. 17 and still, it is Lu Yi before Jin Xia. She does not start seeming to be aware he is a "man" until abt. ep 20 and then aware of her feelings for him, until somewhere closer to ep. 26. The only actual kissing scene is at the end of ep. 32/beginning of ep 33.
There is not a lot of sexy scenes, but there is actually a lot of great romantic scenes.
Did you look at the episode guide? If you go to an episode, in the episode guide, then scroll down, there is an index of all the scenes the involves the lead couple.

really loving it. You are doing a great job! Knowing there are some differences in the novel from the drama, adds surprise to the anticipation, when reading the newest translated chapter sections. What is the next big thing in the novel? Is the opera troupe and the hot bath both in there and coming up, or something else? - It is glossed over, in the drama. I am wondering if we find out why the guy gave up on Zhai Lanye.

Finally found this, as it recently popped up on Viki. I watched it years ago, and wanted to re-watch it. Only, I couldn't remember the name or which actors were in it, or what country it was from, or even if it had been a movie or a series. - Just rewatched. Sammi Cheng plays a career oriented city girl, who ends up being terminated from her job. Temporarily unable to work in her field, and temporarily broke due to bad investments, she turns to selling a beach property. Hilarity ensues when she finds that her cousin, that co-owned it had sold his half of the property to a friend: who has a sentimental attachment and spends all of his time hanging out on the beach. It is a simple sweet cute fluffy romcom. I enjoyed it.

I wouldn't say there is no growth...it just takes a long while more, for those 3 characters. Like I said, it is somewhere around ep 33 or so that Xie Xiao starts to mellow. It is somewhere between ep 33 and 40 that Shangguan Xi and Yang Yue have any real change. I am reading the translated chapters of the novel this is based on, and so far, there are so many differences. It will be really interesting to see how many of the things I do or don't like were the parts that were changed and or added.

Oh man! I just love this series. I watched and re-watched it more than 10 times and still love it every time.…
I loved Allen Ren as Lu Yi. This was my first time seeing the actor. Since, I have started watching him in Love A Lifetime. His entire presence is different. I was a little afraid that I would not like seeing him in another costume drama pursuing a differnt female lead, but he does not seem like our Lu Yi, at all! Definitely a credit to his acting abilities.

I happen to love this drama. It is definitely not perfect, but for me, the pros outweigh the cons.
What I hated: Xie Xiao is very hard to take. (btw - He gets worse, before he gets better. It is around episode 33 that he mellows and you see less of him.) The Yang Yue/Shangguan Xi storyline gets a thumbs down from me. Their stuff is too repetitive. They are clearly used as filler. Even their storyline's villian fell flat, imo. I think Xie Xiao and Yang Yue were both supposed to come off as funny, but do not quite make it.
What I loved: Allen Ren and Seven Tan do an amazing job portraying their characters and the Lu Yi/Jin Xia love story is so great. I have not liked a leading man character this much, since Jiang Zi Shu (It Started With A Kiss). Han Dong did an amazing job as Yan Shi fan. By far, my favorite villain ever. I am someone that really likes campy comedy, to keep an otherwise serious storyline from getting too heavy. This drama has and interesting mix of serious characters, comedy relief characters, and some that are a little of both. Several side characters's actors did a great job in their roles as well. That underwater scene was so bad, that is became funny. Also really loved how the adoption story is written and acted. (one of my hobbies relates to helping adoptees use dna and genealogy to find their birth parents, and from what I know, I believe they treated that twist with respect and gave a true representation of how the involved parties would feel and respond)... and did I mention the romantic story line between Lu Yi and Jin Xia is so great!
- if you do not like the comedy, beyond about ep 35, the story becomes more serious.

After finishing this wonderful drama a few weeks ago, I still cannot move on. I really liked it. Episodes 28-29…
Also still obsessed. love Seven Tan in pretty much everything. Love the Lu Yi character so much! Allen Ren as Lu Yi, might be my new favorite male lead. At the very least, he is tied with my previous favorite (It Started with a Kiss Joe Cheng as Jiang Zi Shu)Currently reading AwkwarDerp's translation of the book, on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Syublush/ - so far, it is super fun and there are lots of differences, but it will be a long while before the whole thing is translated... In the book, it is up to the part that Lu Yi has told her to go to the victim's house and wait til the rooster crows 3 times. I am dying to know if the umbrella scene was the same as in the drama or different.

Really enjoying seeing Liu Lin again. Had to think a minute before remembering where I had seen her before (The Story of Ming Lan)

Is it normal to really dislike dylan?
I'm on episode 8 and so far, do not have a strong opinion about him. I have watched probably all of the versions of this drama... I remember liking that character, in all of the others, especially in the Korean version played by Choi Jin Hyuk.

Just watched it. So amazing, but warning: it will make you cry buckets full. I swear, I need to stop watching So Ji Sub movies. It really is well done, well acted, good story... Loved the "hanbok woman" Cameo!

Yeah, pretty suck, but at least the novels have side stories on their after marriage life, plus the author started…
Yay. I can't wait to be able to read it all! I wonder if it is too much to hope that the next one will be made into a drama too, and that the same actress and actor will play the lead roles again.
