I didn't notice something like that at all. When was it? I want to see it too.
at the beginning of ep 5, when he was about to leave her apartment but he stopped because he heard she cried in her sleep. that scene, they zoomed for a long time that he held his wallet then he put it inside his pocket. another scene he asked eunho his wallet's whereabout.
it seems there's a gap of character of the teen ml and the adult ml. after everything that had been through, the teen ml is still pure, content and responsible. the adult ml is still a responsible one. but although he looked stronger on the outside, he seems broken inside.
I have a feeling that he's embarrassed to introduce his fam to his social life, let alone his partner. we don't see any of his colleague attended the halmoni's funeral. and the youngest of them he called nuna, looked hurt/angry when she realized that hyunoh didn't consider them as a "normal" family. he didn't want to bring his woman to get involved with them. maybe he sabotaged jion to this purpose too.
but he looked fine with them when he was younger, so what happened? they clearly not a rainbow and a sunshine kinda family, but they eventually formed a bond. their interactions are raw. I assumed something happened when he grew up. knowing the grandma's behavior, I wouldn't be surprised if something made his pride crushed or maybe something worse than that.
although the grandmas looked have character developments, and they don't want to put everything on his shoulders anymore. (see how they insisted moon sister not to tell him when grandma fell). but by then he already saw them as an obligation he should fulfilled. and his savior complex made him like a failure when he saw grandma on hospital bed. and look, the shift on his eyes when moon soo jeong said "what if grandma die." his savior complex can't be helped I'm afraid.
there are many micro expressions ml and grandma exchanged on that scene, which portrayed their deep bond. but beside that he also saw her as a responsibility.
if we want to see what's his relationship like with the grandmas, I think it's subtly or even frankly portrayed that they're a family and they're also not. they're genuine with each other, but their interactions can be cold sometimes. it's a huge house but he lived in the attic.
the stairs to eunho's apartment is vacant, she's the only member in her family. the stairs to hyunoh's room is crowded with things, he has many to carry on his shoulders.
it's not as simple as him giving a chance wether she can fit into the family. because he knew she's not the problem in the first place. and the problem is not only on the communication.
so I noticed that jinwook can move his ear. and I was wondering what does it mean. I wanted to stay positive and…
I'm sure undeniably there's love between them. but I wanted to analyze the meaning of that elevator kiss for both of them. first I thought he wanted to help her to balance her emotion. while it seemed not a wrong interpretation too, but the move of his ear kept haunting me, whether moving ear equals to clenching jaw π
I understand that feeling, to be emotionally depend on someone in a toxic relationship, it looked like the kiss was their escape. apparently she wasn't the only one who needed it, hyun oh too needed it so bad.
he moved his ear because he was upset. his logical side kept telling him that there wasn't any future for both of them, but his heart couldn't resist tho.
and the ending of ep 6 kinda confirmed it for me. now we know the meaning of eunho smiled from inside her house and hyunoh drenched in the rain. the situation is the opposite from their break up. if my gut feeling is right, the next episodes they're going to start introducing hyunoh's side of the story.
so I noticed that jinwook can move his ear. and I was wondering what does it mean. I wanted to stay positive and said that he did that whenever he had a serious expression. but sometimes the line between staying positive and being denial is thin π
coincidentally I came across to his fp and found a fact that he can move his ear when he's angry or upset. and I tried to find evidence wether it could mean something else but found nothing. (in this case if you remember him moving his ear when he's happy or sleepy maybe or whatever please let me know).
the thing is, I remember he did it three times in this drama. first, when he listened to eunho's speech when she was being judged by other announcers. 2nd, right before he made a move, during the elevator scene. and 3rd, before he decided to break up with her.
I can't just brush it off when they made it so obvious that ml put his wallet inside his pocket. did he really forget or he was just being playful? but the way they really pointed out his wallet before could mean something.
is it me being too sensitive or it's really meaningful π
on ep 4, there we dialogues mentioned that "media and seoul has more vacant parking area than us" or something like that. the dialogue spoken by that weirdo sunbae two times and by the assaulter director one time.
idk if I'm too much reading into the lines but the small detail could mean something in this drama.
earlier user W said that parking lot could mean the state of mind. with this theory, maybe they were trying to imply something like 'at a distance our neighbor's yard looks greener.'
Why didn't Great Khan trust Ashile Sun? A few reasons. For one thing, he's not his real son. It's simply more…
divine aria already explained it. his father idolized him when he was a child but not anymore as he grew up because of fear. sun became stronger, maybe even stronger than his father. and his father started to see him as his rival to take over the throne. although sun was practically his successor, his dad couldn't help but worry that sun would plan a coup d'etat. I think this is well portrayed and obviously shown, how his dad was terrified of sun's power.
jung ji hyun director nim, I guess you're a legend. while watching this at the first glance, I can feel this is such an expensive work. your style is so classy.
I watched the original too. but please stop all the unnecessary bulshit about comparing these two. this is directed to those who trashed the adaptation and those who shit on the original.
the dramas may have the same story as this is the adaptation. but if you can't separate that those are two different dramas and two different works, it's a you problem. this drama doesn't have a responsibility to fulfill your expectations. and so does the original drama, just because many people love it, you don't have to pressure yourself to watch it too just to prove your prejudice.
if you already love the first one, no matter how good this gonna be, the drama you watch first will always have a special place in your heart. and if you already have a prejudice, even if what you see is better than your expectations, would you admit it?
can both the adaptation and the original coexist in peace without being compared in a bad way?
everyone is praising male lead but he is just annoying i cant stand him
it's funny because the comment right under you is literally far from "everyone is praising him". both of the ml and fl characters got a lot of hate if you really notice.
ML doesn't live in the same building than her, but as he has a camping-car, lol, it's the ultimate resource to…
do you remember he made the owner of the building to give her some rice cake? that's when he was moving in right across her flat lol. it's after he found her crushed soda can near the lake.
Beside, the thematic isn't new. Take for example "The Punisher". There are always cops or other super-heroes trying…
yes, this kind of trope has been done a lot before. kind of some power balance for the characters.
yeah they could make the ml to be more idgaf about her. which I begin to wonder what it would be like. that sounds an interesting alternative character tho. but I have a feeling it's also intentional to make him behave that way. he clearly has a soft spot for her. his respect for her is coming up and down. although I don't think we will she the same spark in his eyes where he adored her as an innocence anymore. all of that, I think the writer is building his character to prepare for his character development.
currently their characters have a clash with each other. but we see it coming that there will be a clash within themselves sooner or later. fl will have a battle with emotions. and da on's faith on justice will be tested when he faced his past.
Love how all the people have been saying that they love the FL and how amazing, open-minded, and independent she…
since you dropped the issue out of nowhere first.... just becareful that the line of calling them out double standard and being an anti-fem is thin.
I understand where you're coming from but is it necessary to suddenly come up with the idea to label people double standard?
I mean don't project your issues on everything.
I mean it's okay to hype an open minded ml character and fl character. why do we have to gatekeep it?
was there any an open minded ml character being trashed here in this drama that made you said that? was there any tho?
and as far as I know, the fl character got so much hate as much as she got so much love. you don't addressed that part too btw. and it's DOUBLE STANDARD!
because until ep 4 I thought she already knew
π§: I have a big family, how about it?
π©: nan gwenchana. it will be fun π€
π§: let's get married then
