Quite disappointing last few episodes. Feels that story goes nowhere. Added unnecessary affair as this topic is not overused. Nothing changes just constantly adding new clues, but every clue is too opaque there is no need even to guess.

Especially disappointing that there is zero character development or even relationship change between friends, co-workers etc. No co-worker learned from their mistakes and remained reactionary. Police remain incompetent and unprofessional, but somehow everyone treats them with respect and they get no backlash. It becomes tiring to watch.

There was much dark humour in first half, but in the end it kind of disappeared. Scenes with mediaheads and overall media became skippable, they add nothing new as it was in first half.

I do not know why you think it was trash, but its writing is on another level comparing to usual kdramas. On surface topic was boring and overused but they managed to bring many innovations and surprises. It was not about cheating, it was how suppose enemies became unexpected friends when facing monster. Cheating just revealed who that monster was. Topic never was about love but family relations.

Here too on first episode imply that mother-in-law and daughter-in-law will be main enemies, but there are many hints they might not.

Setup is identical - strong and smart but abused daughter-in-law, cheating husband with inferior complex because illegitimacy strive for position, not important power tripping spoiled children, neutral youngest adult family member and on other side king maker (here mother-in-law there daughter-in-law). I could not name dramas with more similar character setups than these two.

How this drama different from Mine (2021) ? First episode is almost identical. Or it is spin-off from that series?

Chairwoman's acting is so bad that at her second scene I had to drop this and look at the comments whether to continue. Beyond my imagination why producers approved these scenes or even casted her.

Am I only one skipping scenes with superintendent Wu, because feels that he is always lying to everyone. Actor did amazing job to make me hate to the guts of his character. Clearly he is main mastermind and will have some sick reason "I have done everything for you sister. Bla bla.."

Or plot twist - mastermind is empress just to check who is loyal or to chose next empress. That would explain why everyone is so afraid of her.

Current my stakes are 50/50 between two of them.

So far really good. Fighting scenes, inner buildings are so amazing. Acting is superb too. Scriptwriting excellent.

Your comment seems like from alternative drama reality. Realistic dramas should be dramatized but they should have a little bit of reality. I see this drama realistic one not from sci-fi sector. Everything about YJH character is sci-fi.

Psychology and psychiatry are totally different fields like math and physics. They are not above each other. Psychiatry is not harder than psychology or vice versa. Just in western countries it takes more time to get psychiatrist diploma because of governmental regulations therefore it is perceived as harder to learn. I assume it is similar in asian countries. In other words prodigy psychiatrist is cannot be better in psychology than regular elite psychologist. Just like prodigy physicist could not beat elite mathematician (these things happened century ago but not in internet era).

There are so many myths about subconscious mind, but simply put in every usual (average IQ, no psychical brain damage or genetic illness or something else extreme) adult conscious mind always wins against subconscious in big life decisions. Momentarily it can take over (f.e. afraid and flight response) but not long term. There is no magic in that. Usually problems are in conscious mind not in subconscious.

To make believable that he can make her fall in love to disregard own life he must have high EQ AND years of intense training with opposite sex like some spy or playboy. You cannot read these things in books or psychiatry lectures. There is zero scenes there we see YJH has decent EQ and can manipulate emotions of people near him. KaiYi is better than him in this area.

He Dun's colleague successful as she is, in her life she should met at least few good looking sweet talking men and not be naïve like teenager schoolgirl. Unless it is another dumb plot romance cdrama. But I saw in your comments that you say this drama is level above these dumb dramas.

I said normal person would not get megaphone and announce that she does background checks on you. No business person would reveal these things. Or her character is from another dumb plot romance cdrama?

He Dun revealed personal details about attacker girl on first radio event. YJH was still stranger.

My issue that he is inserted in the story too unnaturally. He is so weird that you expect proper response from other characters, but seems nature laws does not exist to him. We see that He Dun has psychological issues with opening to people but in first episodes she even shares to him about one of possible patient intimate details. Even if she would not have psychological issues, imagine someone scares you, is suicidal, drinks psychotropic drugs and without emotion tells you what in future wants to have intimate relationship with you on that same scary encounter. And he is total stranger. Proper response would be not talking ever with such person. Her friend tells him that she investigated him, but no business person would do that. He is definitely not Don Juan, but somehow manages to force He Dun colleague fall in love and destroy her life. It is just few examples in first few episodes.
It feels that this character was added to the story later, just to give thriller elements. Because when everyone interacts with him loses their head and behave unnaturally.

I think this story is better with thriller elements, but it should be done better.

His clothes and Kiyo apologising are just misdirection to make suspicion on mother. But plot twist it will be the coach, because mother bought clothes just to copy that family. Kid is apologising to his father (the things that are remained) about not telling secrets to other people, maybe he saw coach doing something. And l think after mother will be acquitted and everyone will say sorry for suspicion, again plot twist in the end that she did something to his wife not his son.

I missed scene with cooking.

Big chance that theories are wrong because they are based on watching cliché dramas, But here it is masterpiece and anything is possible.

I just saw season 2 so my theory one crime will be unsolved, one die, one stay alive. So I think kid will be dead to give a shock and increase maximum tension and his presence does not add anything for second season, daughter alive to give happy ending and for main cast remain in second season, mother not known to remain intrigue for second season.

My crazy theory that delivery guy (jealous of ML and FL relationship) found three people against family by delivering items and helped/instigated them commit crimes. First is coach who had affair and was seen by ML's kid. Next is ML's daughter's boyfriends stalker (mortician) who had crush on him. Third is neighbour, wife's friend. There were three separate kidnaping incidents.

The guy near the train suggested to someone to plant evidences like it was written in ML's novel.

Probably I will change my opinion again after next episode.

This is masterpiece... 6 episodes in I have no idea even what is culprits motive, because after each episode I change my opinion. Plot twists here come very naturally. Furthermore they touch todays social issues with fake news, cancel culture, alienation etc. For me it is best Japanese drama this year.

Yeah that opening was really bad and that technology center has no connection to whole drama. It was never mentioned after 1st episode.
Drama is realistic mostly, but heavily dramatized.
The cases and subjects for psychotherapy are very realistic. I like this part of drama. Especially because they are played by good actors and they add their own charm to these vulnerable characters. The cases are gem of this drama. Solutions are informative as well. Though it is not shown actual healing process.

Looking at whole picture, FL ML 2ML 2FL their character development arcs their relationship dynamic, feels weird, forced. Mystery surrounding antagonist feels more of sci-fi element than realistic.

Famous director you say... Maybe he should put this in "unsuccessful experiment" folder.

If I would be psychologist I would praise this drama just because it is informative, and whole field is painted in positive way.
As a viewer I do not like how it is directed - how they transition from genre to genre without any thought, what scenes are chosen and what are omitted, what and when information is revealed about main characters.
To add about psychology aspect, as viewer I am tired if main character is psychologist there is always antagonist who makes people dance as chickens because he can access their primitive brains. Here antagonist made successful career woman to regard any consequences and destroy her marriage, her career without wanting to have further relationship with her affair subject. Especially have zero regrets. It is total absurd.

There is always more audience for "lighter" dramas, where is not much content, based on simply or even silly things and mostly are carried over by actors chemistry.
This is one of heavier dramas. It is very informative, characters are very complex, and there is unlimited content by adding cases.

I like more heavier dramas. But they are harder to make. I think this one is poorly directed, not properly thought through. When and where hints are placed, transition from genre to genre, symbolism used for characters etc.

For example, ML and FL do not have same level of character complexity, or correct way to say not highlighted equally. Or if you ask 10 different viewers what is one main objective/goal of FL character in this story you could get 10 different answers. Usually it is self based in genre - in romance - fall in love, in detective - find criminal, in business - get certain achievement in career, in psychological - heal past trauma etc. In mixed genre dramas there is one goal leading others, or they are at least combined. Simply put FL character has no clear direction. It probably has to do something with poor drama "direction".

This drama is hot mess. He Dun and professor characters brings educational genre by how they explain various psychotherapy techniques, Jia Hui character brings sci-fi psychological thriller, Qian Kaiyi brings romantic comedy, Tang Li Li brings business drama, individual cases brings medical drama where they highlight "current" societal issues.
I know it is trend to mix and match genres to make dramas not boring. But here I do not know.. I feel just mess. Seems producers throwed pasta to the wall just to see what will stick. There is no direction.

Novel author should feel really disappointed. There was enough content, interesting backstories, unexpected possible dynamics and many new ideas, likeable unique characters. But producing team could not use that potential

Well she seems like hypocrite how she treats her creepy neighbour. If she has psychological issues with another person invading her personal space, why she is behaving normally well with other people.
How it is displayed how she treats Qian Kaiyi with such disdain, it is really too much. Producers overdid it.

Also drama it is so unrealistic especially when it goes into sci-fi field with Jia Hui character and his mystery. They want to portray psychology as chess match, where person with stronger knowledge could defeat other persons defence. This is not how it works. And this "idea" brings so many inconsistences in drama, especially in He Dun character so it is hard to imagine how person in real world would behave.
