Ikr, this drama has the full package! Though I understand that if someone is binge-watching, it can be a bit fast…
I agree! The ending gave enough closure knowing how Cdramas usually go. I couldn't do it per two episodes because I was impatient haha. So, I only returned to the last 20 after it was all done. Anyway, always good to find someone who share the same preferences. It's like finding a field of gold together. π
Where do you read the novel? I want to read the novel but hope to not get disappointed? Did they do justice to the novel? huhu. and yes, touche on this drama being on top!
I also gave a 10 to this. I love both mains but it is not only because of them. It was everything included! Depth is there too! Unique tweak to the plot! π
Also, while a lot point out how fast the beginning is, this is CDrama. They do it that way. Period. Although I understand that it could be frustrating especially if they read the novel. It happened to me too in Kill Me Love Me. I couldn't get myself to even half it at all.
I realized while watching this that this particular satirical style just doesnβt really align with my personal…
I figured! ππ Some are doing a comparison of this with How Dare You as being both transmigration stories. Some prefer this because of its comical characters. I can't deny I also like the crown prince and the fl's father (mostly his facial expressions). But both really have their edges. I was here for the laugh. I was there for everything.
So, since this is not your cup, I would recommend HDY if you're not yet done. I also watched it primarily because I just love Cheng Lei and Wang Chu Ran. Like you, I found it because of my favorite actors, and I swear, they performed. You won't get disappointed. Depth-wise, it is also more promising! ππ
On the side, I also love Liu Yuning! π First encountered him at The Long Ballad as a second-lead. I loved him there! Since then, he began taking main lead roles and singing OSTs. π«Άπ«Ά
I had to find a review that was 4.5 to express the same sentiments on the female lead. I was soooo frustrated. I didn't expect ladies have to be this entitled and yeah, no reflection of self-awareness. However, while this was not the perfect script, I think it was here for the laughs. I think if one is looking to roll in laughter, this could be suggested haha.
I agree. My most loved couple is the 4th. About time Mr. Shen played a good character because last time he was in The Double, I was traumatized. And of course, Haode was the perfect match for him. She looked a lot like Amelia Clark ππ. And Kangning's story is quite disappointing. I expected a lot seeing her mostly on the covers and because I just loved her as Shangguan Qian in MJTY, and this time, it just was very lacking. Their story is very confusing.
It's not even release date yet, but I am posting what I want to believe to happen. π And nope, I didn't read the novel or the comic, these are purely instinct and desire!
1. Baek Sa Eon (ML) is the missing twin from the orphanage. This, I am almost certain. But the twin left at the orphanage is Park Do Jae! This, I want to believe is so much. Haha. Chances are, Park Do Jae might have discovered that the real BaekSaEon had something to do with his missing twin. He wanted to investigate SaEon so he became his sworn brother. Maybe they figured it out along the way. OORRRR, maybe they knew since the beginning that they were twins. I really think they are.
2. Who is the real BaekSaEon? Either the kidnapper or the other interpreter. Kidnapper could be the BaekSaEon since he has always been a psychopath. But, he looks more like a servant than the real mastermind. So, maybe he is the real BaekSaEon but maybe the real BaekSaEon is not the mastermind. So, who could be the mastermind? My thoughts go to the interpreter. Who is the interpreter? He could be HeeJoo's younger brother (only because I can't think of anyone else hahaha for now). And his goal? To ruin HeeJoo because she got the good life that he and his sister could not attain. So, they both benefit if they bring our leads down together.
3. It could be the reverse. The kidnapper is the lost younger brother who keeps calling her unnie and the real BaekSaEon is the interpreter. They could have promised each other's siblings to each other. Like the interpreter (real BaekSaEon) kills HeeJoo and the kidnapper kill male lead for the real BaekSaEon.
Everything is going wild hahaha. But yeah, let's hope the story reveals something to us soon!
EPISODES 20-21: Aiyyyaaahhhhh! The fruits and poison of married life.
I do admit this is leading us to a detour but a delightful one haha. The relationships in the household are explored - wife to husband, sisters-in-law, parents-in-law to children-in-law, grandmas, even the co-in-laws. It reminds us why getting married is not a joke. In fact, it could be terrifying when you land with the wrong spouse. I pity Duo Ming. But I guess this is a part of her retribution and that it had to happen. I hate her husband, but at some point, there are trajectories in life. Maybe, this was his.
@Dr. Ghost. Where are you? Hahaha. Have you heard about the chicken soup and the pigeon soup? We got the gossip but not yet score. The snippet for episode 22 looks like our Song Mo will score tho hahahah.
Am I the only one getting the mismatched clip of the video and audio? It is kinda annoying but of course the subtitle works fine so I can bear it. But, where is everybody watching at?
My watchlist plot recently: Male lead and female lead were forced to an arranged marriage. When The Phone Rings: Baek Sa Eon arranged the marriage himself. Blossom: Song Mo and Dou Zhao both arrange their own marriage. hahaha So far, I am not disappointed by all these arranged marriages. And both are at 8.8 ratings here on MDL. So happy for both. Where are all my buddies sailing between these two rivers? Haha.
