I watch on Viki but I believe this one is subscription only. As in it's locked to the public for free viewing. Not sure if it's just for a certain period of time or what but I pay for the subscriptions because I want to watch a lot and have no ads.
You have to be sh#$%ing me. BHS really was just gonna bury Hyun Soo alive? I mean he's injured but he wasn't dead yet. And his mom actually stabbed him to stop him. Wow now I get why she's so broken and unsettled. Her own son. He's scaring that crap out of that deaf ahjumma. And the dad is even worse for covering it up than the mom.
WAIT. So he's going to leave it be all of a sudden? We still have four episodes left? Omg yay Eun Ha and her daddy. Love seeing Hyun Soo cry happy tears being reunited with her! I love how he's just crying along with her. So many emotions and all you can do is cry. And him saying he loved her. So cute!!!!
Well this is an interesting turn of events. Hyun Soo going to Choi to work on the who tipped him off. Don't you realize it's your fauxther?
Oh snap is Hae Soo gonna turn herself in?
Ah he's very aware it's his fauxther. Good.
"Do Hyun Soo is no longer the little boy you have to take care of. He's the father of my child, my family, and my person. He now has a person who will always be by his side no matter what, a wife." Well I guess she has a point about him lifing like his life was indebted to his 누나 but still. I don't want him to take the blame for that murder.
Ohohoho so we have HS and the fauxther both trying to trap each other?
Aw, he felt weird lying next to her? Honey, NO. Y'all love each other and ain't nothing weird about that. But him taking her hand and asking how her day was. So sweet.
Oh no now the deaf ahjumma is gonna see and it's not going to end well for her. "The ears that listen are important, but so are the eyes that watch." Omg he's so creepy.
Omg my babies hugging and crying in the rain. Oh no she brings up how he was keeping secrets again with him actually working with Choi behind her back. Nooo go back to being cute and kissing.
NO WAY IN REAL LIFE would Hee Sung be able to stand that quickly after 18 years in a coma!!!!! I'm not even a doctor and I know this. Aw frak. Goodbye deaf lady. Jeez he's an unrelenting psycho. That moment where he pulled her back in the house was like a horror movie.
"You promised me." Dude. Your son is a cold blooded killer. Did kill, is killing, will kill again. He likes it and it's his answer to all his problems. Get that in your head! All these Baeks are nuts. Whether by default or from extenuating circumstances......sadly all cuckoo for cocoa puffs.
I'm glad he came clean and told Ji Won his plan. I just hope it all doesn't go to crap!!!! Ha. Gotta love it. She's coming as a cop not a daughter in law while they're moving the body. Omg you're gonna end it like that? Of course. Omg are we getting another ep tomorrow? Also gonna have to watch the last 20 minutes over, it was only 94% subbed but I missed a few lines I want to clarify. But anyway. EVERY EP IS MORE AND MORE INTENSE I LOVE IT.
Im been waiting and waiting for the drama to end. so that i can binge watch it but time is going so slow and my…
It will be worth the wait! It had two weeks of different delays. One from a typhoon and another from taking necessary precautions when a guest cast member was COVID positive and they had to cease production for quarantine reasons. We would have been on 13/14 this week if not for that but we'll be on episode 12 this week (tomorrow). Not sure if we're back to two a week now or just still one a week but either way it's an amazing show you will be glad you watched when you do watch it!
It feels weird to say I'm waiting to watch Itaewon Class. I'm saving it for a time when no other good shows are filling up my brain because I'm fairly certain I will love it but I want to devote more energy to it when I watch it. If that makes sense. I could say this about a lot of shows that probably have great OSTs. Just haven't seen them yet!
Airing currently: Flower of Evil! "Psycho" by Doko is kinda the main theme but there's also the unreleased 'Feel You' by Shin Yong Jae. Well it's on YT but not Spotify...hopefully not for forever. There's also 'In My Heart' by Lim Yeon. This show is really more about realizing you can be loved for who you are even when the world wants to make you out to be someone you're not and that fighting for that love is all you need. Anyway it's still a melo/thriller. But more melo than thriller in the latter half. Cannot recommend this show enough.
Here's some where I can list a few songs that really make me think of the show if I hear them: "Flower", "But It's Destiny", "Sunset", "The Season of Us" not to mention the piano motif - Crash Landing on You "Feel Like Falling in Love", "This Life" - Because This Is My First Life "Something" - Gangnam Beauty "A Little Braver", "Golden Love" -Uncontrollably Fond "Pray" - Angel's Last Mission: Love "Falling In Love", "Goodbye" - The Beauty Inside "Yummy Yummy" - Dinner Mate. Maybe the only memorable song from the show but it is very memorable. "Search", "WOW", "When I See You on TV" - WWW: Search. "This is My First Life", "Superhero" - Sweet Munchies. Ending up being VERY disappointed in the show but these two songs were good. "ddingdong 띵똥" - Meow the Secret Boy. Cute little bop I could not get out of my head during this show. "Glass Bridge" - The Bride of Haebak. Only song I remember but it's a good one. Golden Goat - OHYUK. From the show "Bad Papa" Never even watched this show but I found it on Spotify. It's a good song.
'Orbit", "Gravity", "Please Don't Cry" were the main three that stood out but also a lot of the instrumentals like "The Fantasia of Another Dimension", "Hydrangea", "My Love and...", "The War is Over" - The King Eternal Monarch. I know a lot of people didn't like this show but I did enjoy it and the music was one of the big reasons for me. I liked the cinematic music in between the OST songs, too.
I'm gonna be that person and say, like, the ENTIRETY of The It's Okay to Not Be Okay OST. The opening theme "Sketch Book" just opens the door to the tone of the show, but some of my faves: "Wake Up", "I'm Your Psycho", "In Silence", "In Your Time", "Hallelujah", "Little By Little", "Lighting Up Your World', "Got You", even the kinda hyper crack song 'Quelemente'. Actually someone on weibo made this series edit to that song for the show that is AMAZING. I even saved it to my computer just in case it got deleted.
I think it depends on the show but I've really enjoyed watching week to week for some (IOTNBO earlier this summer, now Flower of Evil). It really gets me through my week and I have that day or two to look forward to even with the cliffhanger, I just look forward to getting through another week in this hell-year. Unless the 'rona messes it up, which it has but only barely. We should be so thankful SK has it much more under control because here in the US it's just completely disrupted almost every show. Which is fine, I've spent it watching k-dramas! I do marathon completed shows when I am in the mood, but I am finally getting to the point where I let a few other currently airing shows build up some episodes so I can watch a few at a time.
The whole flashback scene to baby Eun ha being born and he's full of worry. I like how Ji Won explained her own emotions were even hard to put into words, it's true. Sometimes you really wish someone could literally feel what you feel.
Seriously, Choi just flat out accusing Ji Won of knowing the whole time is so frustrating. Glad the others stepped in so they could at least have the full conversation in private. I don't know why Choi thinks her emotions aren't real. They are not a light switch! At least with him giving her the benefit of the doubt in that regard she will be able to tell Hee Sung to run? It always pains me to see them on the knees begging. It's shown as such a display of utter humiliation and the ultimate way of asking for forgiveness and it just hits different, because you so rarely see it in Western shows. And she really doesn't want him to become a spectacle and she still doesn't even know the entire truth of how he's already been "like an animal in a zoo and throw rocks at him" with his 'exorcisms'.
And the sting operation. I really hope no part of that goes sideways but I have a feeling it will.
Damn Choi your lie was terrible. Ji Won for the win. I really like seeing such a multifaceted female lead. She can cry and is allowed to but she can turn around and be a badass in the next scene. It really grates my cheese when a man has the nerve to tell a woman "You're too emotionally involved." Or the typical 'you're too emotional' line. And they say it angrily or with disdain. WHICH ARE ALL EMOTIONS.
Ok the only reason Baek would sell out HS is he is totally straight up involved in the trafficking for...what organs?
"There's no future for me." Ji Won, you're breaking by heart saying things like that!
"Is that idiot out there the only person who can save you?" Ok dude has a point but I have to admit it was still brave (idiotic but brave) for Moo Jin to go in there to help HS out.
I really hope Hae Soo isn't going to get herself in trouble by trying to confide in the Baek family. And I get nervous looking at Hee Sung eavesdropping then biting his cuticles?
Damn Moo Jin livestreaming while getting beat up is pretty dope. But that dude about to start a fire saying "I hope you die a cruel, long death!" is atrocious. I know HS won't die, he's the ML but still it s nerve-wracking. OMG JI WON YOU CAME JUST IN TIME. HS IS SHOCKED SHOOK SHAKEN AND STIRRED.
Little In Seo was taken! Aw I'm glad everyone was found.
Omg though HS breaking free to get that ugly criminal from hurting her and her saying we don't hAVE tIME, you need to run and he's still a shaken margarita. For all the worry he had he'd never maybe thought that Ji Won would protect him by telling him to go and not get caught.
Omg though him in the car in a fugue state piecing it all together about her knowing and still wanting to imagine a future with him and Eun Ha. My emotional to the max but doesn't even know how to put it into words darling.
HS: You knew everything, but why didn't you abandon me? I can't understand you. JW: Do you really not know? Even though I knew your identity and still decided to help you. Do you really not know? HS: I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, Ji Won. I did wrong. I...I hurt you. But, you knew everything? JW: That was the only way. That was all I could do. HS: I want to go home, Ji Won. JW: Alright, let's go. Let's go to our house. Whatever happens, let's start again from there. He so overwhelmed he's clutching his heart UGH I AM SO SAD AT THIS BUT I LOVE IT. But wait he can't go home? He has to leave before morning or he'll be arrested? Or are they going to go forward with that but fight for his innocence?
Omg wait. WAIT. The REAL HEE SUNG IS THE ACCOMPLICE? W H A T.
My poor babies just hugging and crying? And hugging and crying. And the sad kissing aaaaaaahhhh.
So real Hee Sung is just admitting it now and his parents didn't know? I mean Mr. Baek had to know? Even though his mom didn't. He really went this far not to protect you but himself, bro.
Yaaaaaaas, Hyun Soo telling Ji Won everything. Wow to have no other memories before age 10 locked away has to mean more to the story. About this mom, maybe? And her comment on his watch and he's happy for her to know where he'll go.
HS: How long did you tailgate me? JW: I was there when you met Do Hae Soo at the abandoned building. You said that you never loved me, even for a second. After I heard that, I don't even remember how I got home. Why are you crying again? HS: I don't know. JW: I know. It's because you love me. HS: It's not. I...can't do such a thing. JW: You always wished for me to be happy. HS: It's because I tricked you. JW: In the past, when I was studying and stayed at the library late at night, you were always there waiting for me. At that time, I felt "This person really likes me." When my father suddenly passed away, I felt my world falling apart and becoming dark. I was always anxious and angry. I even cried for no reason. However, you weren't like everyone else who told me that it will be over and everything will get better. You learned to cook and made meals for me. Everything was delicious. And because of that, I became fine again. You love me. I can feel it. HS: I...I love you. Omg this scene is the best. Because really Ji Won reflecting on their history and knew in his actions that he did love her even if he thought he didn't. And him saying it with such trepidation because he's still just so unsure of associating feelings with expressing them.
So he's going to let himself be investigated and prove his innocence? Yes! Good. Her telling him no matter what he's a warm person. And recounting his history.
JW: When do I come in? HS: Wait a little bit. Before I meet you, I still have to go through two more near death experiences. JW: Your road to me must've been so harsh. HS: You are a moment in my life that I can't seem to explain. It's unreal. It doesn't make any sense. So sweet. And the following morning going out hand in hand before he's surrendered. I really would not have thought a few episodes ago we would have had slight hope for a bittersweet ending. But we might get it. They just have to weather the storm. I can't believe we don't know when we'll be getting more episodes. I was really looking forward to this every week for two days. Highlight of my week, I swear!
RED ALERT! Ok I’m obsessed with this show. I love it. But I just got sent this from a friend... it makes sense…
Omg if we end up having to wait longer I will be so upset. I completely understand but this show has just been so good. If we get ep 11 and have to wait who know how long for more. Yikes! Makes you wish more dramas were pre-produced instead of only shot a few weeks ahead of airing.
The first scene where she passes her police exam! And back to the present with his yes/no answers. He's such a cool badass, though. Sliding into that seat opposite Mr. Human Trafficker. Her running to meet him, though.
I forgot to mention in my last review about how it's at least nice Moo Jin went to Hae Soo's place to fix her lights and how he's doing at least a respectable amount now not that it makes up for his treatment of her in the past. He really would be lucky if she ever forgave him. He's maybe trying is best to say he'll be there for her. But she's not wrong saying she should come forward with the truth of being the murderer of the foreman and not Hyun Soo. And her calling Ji Won telling her the culprit isn't Hyun Soo just as he runs to meet her. My heart. A flicker of hope runs in her soul at this moment for him, anyway. And her explaining she didn't meant what she had said about hating him. And if he could live for a day as her he could understand how much she loves him. Poor guy just still doesn't understand the emotions he's having are also love!
Snap that ajhumma has Moon Jin's tape recorder. A different one? I thought Hee Sung threw it out the window on the highway at one point?
I'm loving Ji Won talking about the future, wanting to have Eun Ha go to a rural school and have their lives be quiet. And him saying sorry to a sleeping Eun Ha. It's so sweet. And he's so slick adding that extra zero in exchange for what he wants.
I do fel bad for the real Hee Sung. I mean aside from accidentally hitting Hyun Soo with his car he's a victim of circumstance as much as Hyun Soo is. And it's all thanks to his scheming father. Especially when his face looks so shocked with what Hee Sung/Hyun Soo asked him. I really don't think he'd hurt the real Hee Sung. Is father is just saying that to try and keep him in his place.
Aw the moment Hee Sung sees Ji Wom with her wedding ring. And practicing his smiles. I mean he can and does smile but it's sad he follows the videos to tell him how to do it because he thinks he can't. Him seeing himself do it in the mirror is somehow triggering, though. And he running off to see how to deal with the lady who died from falling from the balcony. I'm shocked she told him it would be okay for him to tell her when he was ready. But he's trying to be reassuring by telling her it will all work out and not to worry. GASP but wait. Why did he take off his wedding ring after she left?!
Omg him calling from the burner phone with the voice modulator saying he's Do Hyun Soo with info on the case and Ji Won answering. Dun dun dun! Him revealing his plan with Ji Won knowing Hee Sung is Hyun Soo has her literally biting her nails in anticipation. I'm biting my nails, too. it's so intense, that whole scene! Then her calling to say let's have dinner together. Him lying saying he can't and her begging him not to go. It's so funny he hasn't figured out yet he knows he's Hyun Soo. If it doesn't come out by the end of this ep I will be surprised.
He is trying. He's telling her in the only way he knows how "I want to be a good person to you."
Ah, so deaf lady can't read lips BUT also signed a confidentiality agreement. I figured it had to be something like that.
Hae Soo doing hypnotherapy! Her insight really does lead us towards a more definite idea of the real accomplice. And Moo Jin wants her to get help, even if he knows she won't open up to him. That's good.
But Ji Won being shocked her team is going to try to trick or trap Hyun Soo...she isn't going to let that happen. She knows he's not the accomplice and he's the father of her child so whatever lies he told don't even hold a candle to protecting Eun Ha.
Look at Hee Sung trying. Thinking about what Ji Won would do. He may not understand it but he tries. And him answering the burner phone with her and the whole detective team. My heart rate just spiked. And he is smart for not wanting to trust the police. And even smarter for not accepting the money to leave Ji Won and Eun Ha. "I don't want to leave my family with you." And he says Mr Baek is just lik him "Someone willing to do anything to achieve their goal." Calling him OUT.
Ji Won calling =the burner phone directly asking about the voice on the recording he was so obsessed with. And he mentions his lack of emotions like love. And he said "I don't want to lie to you." And she asks him not to get hurt. How can he not know at this point Ji Won KNOWS he's Hyun Soo. Did he just realize by looking at his watch and seeing it's 10PM?
Omg Choi with the voice recorder. STRAIGHT UP KNOWS. And now he thinks Ji Won has been covering the whole time maybe? Even though she just found out recently, too? If he tries to loop her into hiding a wanted criminal, she'll have no choice but to clear all their names once and for all.
I love how calculating Hyun Soo is. He had to be harsh on Hae Soo for her sake but he told Moo Jin he just asked and Moo Jin made the decision to go to the dangerous situation. Because he asked in front of Hae Soo. And he's like yeah I manipulate you. Did it then, doing it now, will do it again.
Also someone made a really good theory about Mr Baek being the accomplice and using trafficked victims as organ donors for his work? And the bracelet may prove this?
Omg Choi calling out Ji Won like that in front of EVERYONE. How could he think she knew for years and years?!
OMG THE PREVIEWWWW. Everything is finally coming to a head. It is clear in the next ep she reveals to him she knows he's Hyun Soo and he has to leave to protect them all and he's crying about it. Omg now I'M emotional about it!!! And now we're only getting that ep next week so we'll have to wait another week for episodes 12/13!
The opening scene is so sweet. I stand by my assertion that he loves Ji Won and Eun Ha and doesn't know it. When she asked him if there was anything he wanted and he said there was but it cut away. WHAT WAS IT.
This whole scene with Ji Won sizing everyone up and "not here to investigate" but she can't turn off her investigation radar. And Hee Sung tells Moo Jin to make her something sweet and she liked the sweet coffee, Hee Sung knew how to placate her, anyway. Maybe.
Oh snap, real Hee Sung saying it wasn't his mom's fault and to not cry. Dang but he wakes up and immediately starts out asking about Hyun Soo.
The tension in every scene where Ji Won talks about Hyun Soo AND HE IS SITTING RIGHT THERE. And every sentence has me on the verge of heart palpitations! I love it!
And he finally noticed the ring gone off her finger! Her lie was flimsy and he knew it. "You've never done that before. You said it felt uncomfortable and weird if you took it off." He's really sensing something now!
Real Hee Sung laying it out to his dad about what was he so busy with that he could not answer the phone. But sorry, your father is actually the spawn of Satan who cares more about how he is viewed by society than his own blood child who was comatose for nearly two decades.
"It must not have been easy to only show me...what I wanted to see." Cue his pensive face. "I'm grateful, that's all." Ok he really should be sensing her doubt about now. OH SNAP THE SOUND IS ICE FROM THE BARTENDER! And the hand off happened right behind his back.
He's putting his feelers out, knowing she's not been herself. Wow she's bold going in for the so I suddenly don't love you anymore line. I NEED the moment for him to realize he does love her and for it to be shown in a way only love can be shown. Idk how but I need it. And we know she's lying saying she doesn't love him. Even after knowing about all the lies he's told I don't know if you really can turn love off and on like a light switch? I know she's trying to distance herself from him to protect herself.
His inability to process his own emotions is what's going on. He's pleading with her why do you want to suddenly break up "What do I need to do? Tell me. If you tell me, I'll fix it all." and then he goes to Moo Jin for clarification.
MJ: What? She's fallen out of love? I think I misheard you. Did you seriously just tell me that she's fallen out of love? HS: Ji Won told me she doesn't love me anymore. But...I have no idea what I need to do to fix it. MJ: You woke me up this early to ask about your relationship? HS: I'm serious. I feel way more lost than I did when I came down the mountain...after I got stabbed by Nam Soon Kil.
He's so serious. He is asking his sister "What do I need to do to make her happy?" Moo Jin's answer is so wrong. But he figures a better answer. Get the real accomplice and prove it's not him! Look at him smiling!
HS: If I help her catch the accomplice, I bet she'll be really happy. I can already see it. MJ: Who solves their relationship problem...by catching a serial murderer? HaeS: Ji Won...must be very precious to you. HS: Yes, she's very important. HaeS: No, she's precious. MJ: What's the difference? HaeS: The stuff you think are important...end up becoming less important as time goes by. But when something is precious to you, it hurts you as time goes by.
I loved him telling Moo Jin to not spend too much time with Hae Soo. And him looking through is past texts with Ji Won trying to decipher things in a new light.
Broken Hae Soo telling Moo Jin to go is sad. I almost thought he'd defy her order and stay.
Him playing the recording for the bartender and the pen. I don't want to admit how hot I found it when he jumped over the bar, though. Oh my god I thought he actually stabbed him. Omg it's all connected? The phone call, the skeevy criminal guy. And Hee Sung saying "Tell him exactly what you just told me. Tell him he was fearless to have messed with me." He's taking it seriously because this is all to get the real accomplice and make Ji Won happy!
Dang that lady who fell off the balcony is not very smart, is she? And 5 million won is not a bad asking price I think for him to give up the info. Is "raw materials" code for people ?! To...kill? Traffic? What!
"Do you feel better? I noticed you didn't eat breakfast. Is there anything you want? Why don't we start exercising together? Did you eat something? Ji Won. Ji Won. I feel so frustrated. I want to talk to you. I can't wait for time to pass by. I want time to pass by...so we can both have the same memories. And eventually,I want to think...and feel just like you. I feel like I'm always the one receiving stuff from you."
His texts! You can't say that's not a loving husband. This is a way of him saying I love you without ever saying the words "I love you".
Yay flashback to finish that scene!
HS: Don't ever change. You just need to keep loving me like you do right now. All I need is your trust. JW: Gosh, that's so easy. If you do that for me, I'll live my entire life...just for you.
And she's crying, missing him. Oh snap but what does it MEAN to be a client. Sell people. He's lying. There's no way he can keep that promise. All he needs is to find the accomplice. Awww Ji Won calling wanting to hear his voice.
JW: I just wanted to hear your voice. Hee Sung, I had a bad day today, and you're the only person I kept thinking of. HS: I'm busy, right now. JW: What? HS: I'm busy. JW: All right. All I need is your trust. From this moment on, answer my questions with only a yes...or a no. Can you do that? HS: Yes. JW: Are you in need of assistance? HS: No. JW: Can you manage the situation alone? HS: Yes. JW: I'll give you an hour. You have one hour to come back to me. I miss you. HS: Sure.
AHHHHHHHH. Ok so there's a little give and take here . Neither knows to the extent what the other knows. "They don't know we know they know we know" coming up soon.
Watching other shows, learning Korean via TTMIK and other youtubers, reading western books to keep with my 50…
Yeah for me the best part is watching a show or hearing something and guessing (correctly) what they said before my eyes flick to the subtitles. I clap at myself for beginning to only marginally understand random words. Numbers, dates, verbs, and vocab etc. Tell me about it. I read 33 books up until March then I stopped and got into kdramas, learning Korean, etc...I need to pick it back up if I wanna get to 50 by the end of the year!
The only thing they have in common is, (to me) both are well made and well acted shows worthy of praise but the storyline, tone, themes...are all different.
I've come to really appreciate a good kiss and the buildup from it. Within reason. I'm not saying I don't mind some more sweet moments, I do love the gestures and other things that aren't kisses. But when the moment is THICK and you just KNOW they have to kiss and they don't even though nothing is stopping them but themselves it is so frustrating. But then when they do you feel like you've ascended to a higher plane of existence hahaha.
I made a music video from the released 8 eps XD 2 days were saved like this :D
I do like it! I commented. I'm froodytowel over there on YT. Very old name I never changed based on a quote from the Douglas Adams book "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." Usually I'm killmotion everywhere or slowmotioncity (on Viki). Cheers! I've edited videos before but my tendency to be simultaneously lazy and perfectionistic is my downfall to ever actually getting back into it.

Omg my babies hugging and crying in the rain. Oh no she brings up how he was keeping secrets again with him actually working with Choi behind her back. Nooo go back to being cute and kissing.
NO WAY IN REAL LIFE would Hee Sung be able to stand that quickly after 18 years in a coma!!!!! I'm not even a doctor and I know this. Aw frak. Goodbye deaf lady. Jeez he's an unrelenting psycho. That moment where he pulled her back in the house was like a horror movie.

Here's some where I can list a few songs that really make me think of the show if I hear them:
"Flower", "But It's Destiny", "Sunset", "The Season of Us" not to mention the piano motif - Crash Landing on You
"Feel Like Falling in Love", "This Life" - Because This Is My First Life
"Something" - Gangnam Beauty
"A Little Braver", "Golden Love" -Uncontrollably Fond
"Pray" - Angel's Last Mission: Love
"Falling In Love", "Goodbye" - The Beauty Inside
"Yummy Yummy" - Dinner Mate.
