Why is the Netflix getting this such a bad thing? You cant afford paying $5 a month (for this drama in excellent…
For me it's because they won't release it in the US until it's finished airing. They still haven't released Korean Odyssey in the US (thank goodness for Viki!) I've got subscriptions to NF, DF, Viki AND Hulu. I hate it if Netflix gets it because I DO pay for subscriptions and I STILL can't watch it right away. AND if they get the rights, then we have no choice but to wait because no one else will be allowed to put it up with subs. So while the rest of the world gets to watch it, we have to try not to read spoilers.
ETA - and I agree, the subs on Netflix are crappy compared to others.
I don't agree with how Hanyang's story ended, why couldn't he go see his family and his boyfriend? Why did he…
It was heartbreaking....but pretty realistic for a drug user. They will always be an addict even if they kick the habit. I hated it for him too - I was so upset because he *almost* made it. :(
Yes even if it was to end the relationship she did kiss him and that’s cheating
She wasn't doing it to end the relationship in the way I think you mean. She was doing it because he was blackmailing her and she was planning to end his harassment of her by getting something on him. She was recording the kiss to use it against him in some way.
So before I watch this can someone tell me if the wife cheated with that Kevin dude?
She didn't really cheat with him. He forced himself on her once and she was struggling and pushing him off. He went in for a second kiss and it looked like she kissed him back, but it was cut off. The second time she kissed him, she was recording it to use the video, but it wasn't because she wanted to be with him. So, technically speaking, no she wasn't having an affair with Kevin Lee.
I'd like to say that this is the most balanced and objective review of this show I've read. It says almost everything I would like to have said about it but couldn't put into words. You recognized all the flaws without throwing away the good parts of it. I hope this review ends up at the top as 'most helpful' (so I hope you get a lot of upvotes for it!)
As an aside to my review since this would count as a spoiler, I would like to say that I get SO annoyed when the couple is so in love and the man proposes to the woman...and she HESITATES to say yes for 'reasons'. (dumb ones or no reason...she just doesn't say that she will marry him.) I've seen this in more than a few dramas and it is ALWAYS irritating. Just give us a freaking happy ending. Yes, I know they are 'together'....but I want 'happily ever after'. Why do writers do this to viewers???
The premise sounds nice, but I'm a little wary of another "Drama Fever Original" after My Secret Romance. I've only watched about 10 minutes of the first episode, but I got a somewhat 'generic' feel from it. Can anyone let me know if there was a moment that made it stand out as something special and 'sealed the deal' for you that you wanted to continue it?
I think this was a fair assessment. There were many things I liked, but many, many things they could have done better. Mostly I'd like to see more LSG....LOL! Son Oh Gong, Bu Ja, and Secretary Ma were my favorite characters.
Anyone know if this drama will get a season 2? I liked it a lot :c
You know, they totally could with the way the ending was set up. It's not like they lack plot material if they want to go off of Journey to the West. But, somehow, I doubt there will be a sequel.
Is it just me, or does this one seem a lot campier than the first one?
I'm in the boat with you all. It doesn't even feel like I'm watching the same show/characters. I'm not sure I'll even finish this at the rate it's going. I was so excited to get this duo back....but it feels like they gave us poor copies of them instead. :/
...And I thought that people write reviews only after the completion of the drama. :(
That was the rule, but it appears that they are going to allow it now with a "## out of ## episodes seen" clarifier. I still don't like it or approve of it though. - I think you can't REVIEW something you haven't completed. I think it's fair to be able to rate it, but how can you review something when you don't know how the whole thing plays out? At the very least we are able to determine whether to give any credence to someone who reviewed a show after only watching 4 or 5 episodes though. I think it makes the reviews less reliable though, imo, and I'll be less likely to read them or possibly stop even writing any myself from here on.
Why did they change Detective Ha's style so much? In Season 1 he was a little rough around the edges and a little more manly looking. I almost thought they had cast a different actor for Season 2 when I started episode 1. They dressed him like an old man in a sweater. To me, this episode had a completely different feel than I remember Season 1 having. And they were so awkward together. I thought maybe the writer was different, but no, it's the same writer.
