Very well written review. I've been on the fence about this one for a while. I almost joined the hype at the beginning but wasn't able to watch when it started airing. Now that the reviews are coming out, I'm backing away slowly. All the things you mentioned about the characters would bother me a lot.

I understand what you are saying. I can accept that there is an illogical element to a show. But once the writer defines what the rules are, he should stick to them and not keep changing them. That's confusing to viewers and makes the unrealistic parts just seem ludicrous instead of feeling immersed in another world. Good review. This is on my list, but from the reviews I've been reading I'm on the fence about it.

The review was helpful, but it doesn't really sound like the "9" that you rated it. I think you explained things well enough for me to make a judgment about whether or not I'd watch this though! :)

SIG is one of my favorites as is the drama Master's Sun (because I crush on So Ji Sub!). But if you like Park Bo Gum, you may enjoy Reply 1988 with him (and Reply 1997 with Seo In Guk.)

I'm on ship with Jung Won, but I'm sure that will end up breaking my heart. Right now I think Na Ri deserves better than Hwa Shin even though I DO like his character.

This isn't bad so far. It's not a groundbreaking plot or anything and not all about drinking per se. Now that I know it's vaguely related to Lets Eat, I kind of expect something similar to that. At this point, it's really more about the lives of some Academy teachers.

I was interested in this for Joo Sang Wook because I've liked him in his rom coms but episode 1 seemed kind of cheesy. And the production values didn't seem all that great even though they had nice sets. Baek Seol's story was the only one that seemed interesting so far, even if cliched.

FTLY was the first drama I watched and still holds a special place in my heart. Your review is perfect. :)

I agree. I'm hoping that it will show that they haven't seen him yet and will straighten up and comfort him. But they are RIGHT in front of him so I don't see how they couldn't notice him there. And his mom beating on him and not letting him tell her about the cancer broke my heart too.

Ha! I didn't even realize that at the end of 5/beginning of 6, Na Ri says she is curious about him. I lol'd thinking about this comment.

Yes, I was thinking it would be cruel to be laughing over the bra video at that moment. But I am betting he THINKS that's what she showed Jung Won. Either way, thiugh, I did feel like it wasn't the time and place to be laughing over that while Hwa Shin was suffering. That was sad. :(

I will agree with you and Sharn there. We don't know enough about him yet. But I AM curious about him. (I haven't seen ep 6 yet, so no spoilers for me yet!) I'm looking forward to seeing this unfold.

Exactly. He's always pushed her away until someone else showed interest and NOW he's jealous. This one is going to be HARD. I have a feeling he wasn't as immune to her as we've been shown so far, but this is all we have to go in right now.

I don't dislike Hwa Shin, but Jung Won has made him look bad in comparison. If JW wasn't so darn awesome (and HOT), then I would be able to root for HS in a hot second. He's got a different charm than JW. But those melty looks JW is giving NR have me hooked.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Na Ri, you've gotta choose Jung Won! I don't think I've ever had SLS so bad (and it's rare for me anyway)!

I am watching this for the first time also. I've completed up to episode 11 so far and it is so intense! I didn't think I'd enjoy this genre either, but it's so good. If you like this and haven't seen I Remember You yet, you might enjoy that one also.
