I am going to mark this as a spoiler since I want to rant a bit about my interaction with a Krist hater and I…
It truly is that simple, I’m afraid. Some people just want someone socially acceptable to hate. It probably gives them some sense of control.
Some interfans have also been so publicly vicious to and about Krist over the years that if they admit they were wrong or even read all the evidence to the contrary, they’ll have to admit they’ve been maliciously harassing an innocent person. Very few have the integrity to admit to that level of cruelty and then make up for it.
So they’ll keep trying to spread it, but that time is passing. He was never homophobic, the hate campaign against him was targeted by fans of a pair that doesn’t work together anymore, and we just have to present facts and evidence to new fans so they can make their own judgments.
But I know it’s upsetting. Just take comfort in knowing how much better it’s gotten, and how much better it’ll get the more people like you give people information. That one person might not read or watch the things you send, but others will. <3
I know some are losing patience with the mystery of why Tam left, but the show’s been giving hints the whole time, and I’m really enjoying the ride.
“You don’t care about my feelings,” was a big slap in the face of a clue this episode. You don’t just say something like that for a one-time incident. There’s more going on, and I like getting it in pieces like this.
Honestly, I was going to ignore it in the comments, but I have to say this again: People really need to stop asking…
Well said. <3
The top/bottom discourse in BL fandom doesn’t exist in a bubble. It has real-life ramifications on the perception of queer people worldwide. You simply cannot know a person’s sexual preferences by their body type, their mannerisms, and certainly not by who’s shorter or smaller, and BL series only cater to this trope because so many fans are such vocal supporters of it. I encourage anyone perpetuating these stereotypes to research heteronormativity and its inclusion in BL media.
Is it KristSingto or SingtoKrist cuz I keep on getting mixed signals when watching this series...I kinda love…
They’ve said that it’s up to the audience’s interpretation and they’ve always had a policy of “two men who love each other” reaching back to SOTUS. Personally, I think the dynamic in TEM leans vers, but we’ll see once the NC scenes begin.
In any case, I’m glad that they’re not feeding into the Top/Bottom discourse. It feels reductive and immature when actors or fans squabble over who the “bottom” is.
Just a fun note: Krist's the one who told Singto not to look at the fire while lighting it because it would look cooler. It's in the behind-the-scenes video on YouTube. \:D/ (And he was right!)
It's funny how we're all having theories for the reason Tam left Phi, and waiting for it to be a damn good reason…
Frankly I’m hoping for a reason that’s flawed because it’ll be more interesting that way. As you say, there’s no actual excusing breaking up via text, moving overseas, and then going no-contact for three years. (Like, unless he was kidnapped at gunpoint, which he wasn’t.) But we like mess! Tam doesn’t have to be perfect for the story to be strong. The story just has to show him making strides to heal the divide he created.
This is literally him 😭https://www.instagram.com/reel/C077L-FhICT/?igsh=MTQ3d3ptbmZiM2J4eA==
It’s nice they’ll be at MUSICON together! I’m proud of Kit for distancing himself from the toxicity of fandom over the past year and prioritizing his friendships. It’ll serve him better in the long run to enforce his boundaries with people who think they can dictate his private life.
