Happy to see this article, Kim Jae-wook needs more love and appreciation! I'm glad he finally got a leading role in a rom-com for Her Private Life, he was awesome as Ryan Gold. Then again, he's been awesome in whatever role he's taken on, and I love how he doesn't go for the conventional roles. Looking forward to his next project, hope it's a badass one!
Also, how awesome is it that he has a cat? They're just too adorable together!
Kyou wa Kaisha Yasumimasu is a terrible drama to recommend. The ending is logic fail, the characters show no growth, and the plot is meh. Ayase Haruka and Tamaki Hiroshi have done better dramas than this.
I'm enjoying this drama, and the cliffhangers are done quite well. Almost everyone is creepy, or at least the camera work makes each of the characters look like they have something to hide. I hope the eventual payoff is worth it!
Eun-gi never had a chance though. He waited and waited, scared to ruin the friendship, whereas Ryan took action…
Exactly. Should have developed Eun-gi as a proper character instead of the useless 3rd wheel in the love triangle (which wasn't even one cuz Deok-mi only had eyes for Ryan).
for real i'm tired of the same plot over and over again tbh. there's always an accident, the main characters met…
The webtoon is just Deok-mi hiring Ryan to work at her cafe knowing that he is Shi-an's brother, as a way to get close to Shi-an. Deok-mi and Ryan fall in love gradually and she comes to love him as Ryan instead of Shi-an's brother. The reader is set up to think that Ryan will find out that she is using him and will leave her, but the twist is that Ryan already knows and is happy to just continue the fake relationship believing that she doesn't love him for who he is.
The webtoon didn't use the names Deok-mi, Ryan and Shi-an. Instead, it was A-ra, Min-hyun and Min-joon. And I don't think there was any adoption or birth secrets involved.

I think we complain because we are invested and care about wanting it to be better, because this drama definitely had the potential to be much better. If we didn't care, we wouldn't spend time posting here, right? :)

k-dramas always have to have their damn love triangles. Eun-gi won't just be a friend who finds his own love line, unfortunately. Maybe in a J-drama, he would be that character, but not in a k-drama rom-com. But even as the third wheel, he was never any competition. The second leads are pathetically weak in here.
There are many ways to make good use of cliches, but not the way the drama is handling them. A pity, because I was really interested in Ryan's backstory, and there are any number of ways to explain his inability to paint without going the mummy and childhood route.
My rate for this drama is dropping ep. by ep.I praised this drama of being serious, mature with little cliché…
Eun-gi never had a chance though. He waited and waited, scared to ruin the friendship, whereas Ryan took action once he realised he liked Deok-mi. The difference is stark.
I agree the childhood connection stuff was rubbish, and I hated the way the drama handled Ryan's mother issues.
I'm slightly worried about the preview? she wants to go to the us, but ryan is not going? I sense a "they break…
Ryan should just take her back to the US. He has a thriving career there, and she can start painting again. Staying in Korea is useless for him. But of course, that's not k-drama. Sigh.
Also, how awesome is it that he has a cat? They're just too adorable together!
Edit: not sure if you'll see this, but here are a couple more:
Hokkaido: Fuben na Benriya
Kamakura (Kanagawa): Saigo Kara Nibanme no Koi
And here's a useful list: https://www.tsunagujapan.com/21-filming-locations-to-expand-your-trip-in-japan/
For Tohoku: the two-parter film Little Forest. Iwate was one of the filming locations.
The people at subscene probably just took her subs and uploaded them at subscene.
