I'm not dropping this show at this point, but the frequent use of the threat/attempt at sexual assault is... a bit much, to put it mildly. It's bad enough when some generic bad guy does it as an excuse to let the male lead swoop in to the rescue, but now we have the actual *male lead* doing it? It's pretty lazy writing, especially to be using it as often as they have. So while, as I said, I'm gonna finish out this drama, I don't think I could recommend it to anyone else who isn't already invested.

I've only watched the first ep so far and not only do I not know why Third has a crush on Khai, I'm not sure why he's even *friends* with any of those 3 guys. I just don't like any of them (besides Third) as people. I want to take Third and drop him into a different show with a better group of friends. I know things will develop with subsequent episodes but... well, this first ep did not leave me particular excited to see more.
Y'know, I'm coming around a little on Smile now after a handful of episodes. I don't know if I'm just getting used to the character or if she's toning it down a little (perhaps both) but I'm starting to enjoy seeing her & Badz together. Now they just need to officially resolve the Liz/Badz situation (i.e. break 'em up already!) so both characters can go on to be happy with someone else. I can't really get behind Smile & Badz until this happens.
Also, while I don't like it when writers throw in sexual assault (or the threat of it) for the sole purpose of pushing 2 characters together romantically, I did appreciate that this show found different somewhat-plausible reasons for Badz to take his shirt off for *2* episodes in a role. What's next, someone (Liz probably) throwing a drink on him? Yet another side gig modeling for a life-drawing class? Shirt shredded in an unexpected boom mic accident? Can't wait to find out!
I think I'd like this more if Smile wasn't so cartoonishly "nerdy." Characters can be shown to be socially awkward without resorting to the usual tropes (you know-- oversized glasses, ridiculously unstylish outfits, completely unsophisticated, etc.) and I wish she behaved more like a real person instead of a walking nerd-girl stereotype.
Well, I'm only 1 ep in so maybe she'll grow on me. Or maybe Liz will have to carry the show. (who are we kidding though, I'm *really* here to watch Mond & Lee take off their shirts)
I think Saint is a great actor and look forward to seeing him in lots of future roles but can we just agree not to force him to sing. I respect him for trying, I really do, but his rendition of the Love Sick theme song was... not good (and god, it seemed to go on forever!). His acting & charisma are more than enough to secure an entertainment career; he definitely doesn't need the singing.
I can't believe they're remaking Strawberry Night-- the original is only 7 years old (and no offense to the new cast, but it's gonna be hard to top the chemistry between Takeuchi Yuko & Nishijima Hidetoshi, even if it seems like the romance will be a little more overt in this new version).
In all seriousness though, the only reason I made it all the way through this was because I was watching with a friend (consider it a "mutually ensured destruction" of sorts). This movie is what results when you take Kamen Rider and suck all the joy out of it.
I liked HIStory 2: Right or Wrong as much as the next person (probably more, since some found the teacher/student element troubling) but I'm utterly shocked it got the nod over HIStory 2: Crossing the Line (a.k.a. Boundary Crossing), which was so well-received that it's getting a sequel movie.
Oh well, I absolutely adore Long Vacation though. Nice to see some old(er) shows getting some love too (I always side-eye a "Best of [Genre]" list when it's obvious the writer hasn't tried watching anything more than 1-2 years old).

Amen. So this clinches it, I'm not gonna bother watching the last 2 eps then. I was already disliking almost everything about this show, so you've convinced me not to throw good time after bad and save that remaining 40 minutes to watch something better (pretty much almost anything).
