Review Lovely Runner Spoiler
I have been following this drama since day 1 and finished on the last day of broadcast. I've been waiting for someone to mention everything you did and I'm so glad. I agree with literally everything you had stated.

IN the beginning, I was so hooked onto this drama as it was cute, lighthearted, got everyone kicking their feets and going viral on social media for the plot twist at the end of ep 1. I had also been waiting for LR ever since watching Byeon Woo Seok for his villain role last year and have watched multiple of Kim Hye Yoon's dramas so I'm a fan of both.

If I remember correctly, I think halfway into the drama I had already questioned the plot holes and I have to say, the FL's character started to get somewhat irritating as she lacked logic & in general her thought process of her actions. I get where she was coming, being overwhelmed from acquiring the power of time travel and needing to protect her man but still I just couldn't help but get annoyed at times. I had received hate comments for sharing my thoughts on her somewhat childish antics and thinking (although I like KHY). Her ability to time freeze was such a flaw too as she did not once use it when escaping from the killer or certain scenes that could've added more wit and humor to which I think the director had overlooked. I feel like if they had given her that ability then there is no reason to have made the plot based on a killer but rather explore the mental health aspect of idols as you had mentioned which would take the drama down a different path.

Near the end where Sunjae was given flashbacks which allowed him to remember Sol didn't make any sense and as u mentioned totally broke the logic of time travel. Near the latter half I'm watching with my sister and we're just getting confused and disappointed as it went on. I started to have low expectations and found myself enjoying it less. Finally, how in the world did the killer not have a backstory or a motive revealed???!! I was in the second last ep just knowing they were probably going to BS the killer plot and I just knew we were getting nothing of a backstory. For the killer to have been following Sol every lifetime and basically portrayed as just "Sol's killer" it just didn't make any sense where the obsession came from. I saw some saying that killers are just psychopaths and don't need a motive but that's just nonsense with how the plot was unraveling. They fell short on that aspect as they could've added depth surrounding the killer plot.

Overall, started well and just went downhill from there. BWS garnered such a huge fan base which is so good but also seems like most are blinded by the cute romcom and overlooking the flaws of the show. Even though I still like this show, the cast, the acting, it is overhyped on social media and I think the appeal comes from BWS (no lie I'm a simp for him too), the kpop idol aspect and it being a romcom catering to most fangirls. I truly believe the ones rating this drama 10/10 don't want to admit to the existing plot holes and didn't care for the logics of time travel. Being a big fan of this drama I can say I'm surprised the current rating is 9.1 as I think it is inflated. Just wanted to share my insights with like-minded viewers as I know I would garner so much hate in the general comments section. Truly, what we mentioned are the objective criticisms and flaws that I really wished would've been written differently. I apologize for my long comment and thank you for the review!

What do you expect. It based on the webtoon..
is a drama being based on a webtoon mean we should have low expectations? there are good and bad dramas that have been adapted from a webtoon

will continue watching to see how it is and I don't think I mentioned not liking the show just some critique I have rn

for me im watching for the cast and although lighthearted which should be easier to watch, I find myself wanting to skip some scenes and actually doing so. Other than the beginning and suspense from the recent eps being good, its getting a bit boring and i'm not really sure how theres 16 eps. Especially with the soon to be back and forth of her avoiding him in the next eps. Have to state that its just my opinion as of now as it seems sharing one's input garners hate on here

omg I really hope they do justice for season 2 bc season 1 started off so well and then they just decided to make the characters 'dumb' with what unfolded and having to take out the actress the rush at the end was not so great

What do you mean by "straightforward" ? Like she could have told him that he will die in the future ? That she…
yes I know she can't mention anything about the future. I'm just sharing my thoughts of how its frustrating with the constant "beating around the bush" but then again I did mention that realistically I can see why she behaves a certain way because of the time travel situation she's in. And knowing how kdramas are we can expect the "I love him and want to protect him so I'll push him away". Yes I know their characters are portraying childish, cute and lovely traits and never mentioned about needing her to be serious as this isn't a serious mature drama

so glad that Sunjae's character is straightforward and keeps the pace going. I think right now I'm getting somewhat annoyed with Im Sol's antics and how shes immature for a 35 year old. I get what they're doing with making it humorous and that obviously she is going through it for the time travel aspect of it but kinda wished they just made her more straightforward (I'm loving the drama and love both leads so this is just criticism for Im Sol's character not KHY)

Can someone please explain why Im Sol keep saying that this is her last chance to turn time. Does it mention anywhere…
From the first time she had gone back to present time she noticed her watch had turned from 3 to 2. Meaning every time she returns to the present time the number of chances decreases. The watch is currently at 1 meaning this is her last time in the past before it becomes 0 where she will be transported back to present time

Many are saying the recent episode of him saving her means she has avoided the accident and won't be disabled but that's not the case. Her accident is on September 1st (I forgot but think it's currently July) and him saving her now is just for her to remember that he had saved her in the past at the same location. I'm quite sure the taxi driver will be making another appearance again on the day of the accident to which we will see if it's preventable

I'm just wondering how he end up in the pool when we don't hear glass breaking. If you watch ep1, the ceiling…
yeah when the first ep had came out I also made the same comment as well. Rewatching it I had not heard glass shatter but it also didn't look like there was an open ceiling so I was confused. It's probably for us to assume there had been an opening bc he would've died by impact with blood on him but he had just dropped into the pool

the ending was good with the meaningful message, personally for me I think 12 episodes would've been enough for it to be a faster pace as there were some parts that dragged for me. But then again it could be because this drama is meant for slowburn and healing
On Lovely Runner Apr 11, 2024
everyone's different but I don't see why most are cringed out at some scenes rather I find it "funny embarrassing" that its enjoyable as it sets the mood for the drama. I've seen more cringe scenes even when the scene was extra romantic or serious

I knew he was disappointed at that moment itself, but i thought it was because her words comforted him. I didn't…
yeah I had thought her words affected him due to what he was going through

Rewatching episode 1 after finishing episode 2 just hits so different you get a completely different pov. At first his expressions seem like the norm but now you can distinguish his lingering gazes and longing ahhh I can't

rewatched the scene of him offering to give her a ride and him looking disappointed when the friend arrived. At first I didn't think much of his expression but now I'm like omgg

Based on this trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vk5DNObSfY
The beginning shows her in a wheelchair at the apartment complex while hes standing on the first floor watching her in their future time so now I'm super curious as to how this will all unfold. Like whether she is rewriting the future or the idea that they both are trying to save each other but it causes conflict and angst

rewatching the radio scene and it likely is that he wanted to call her number to see how she's doing, along with telling her to live. The part where he asks her "do you know me" and she says no, he looks disappointed

I think the photo appears specifically bc she managed to change the future somehow.
Ohh yeah that could be a possibility too

even though I like the whole flashback scenes, I feel like they should've revealed that he liked her this whole…
yeah I understand what u mean bc im surprised it was revealed right away but it could be 2 outcomes I thought of which (1) they decided to reveal it early on as to not drag on with her trying so hard to follow him 24/7 and it might be better as we'll already get their romance earlier instead of halfway in like most romcoms (2) they revealed it early to develop the story faster as there will be more events unfolding with the accident of both the mains. I really hope the way they reveal the accidents aren't so cliche and dragging like most kdramas
