Hard recommend. I mean I'll admit I'd go beyond to defend him, but my affection isn't baseless. He showed he's more than capable of playing versatile and various convincing characters from a romantic interest, through a clumsy and scared but righteous guy or a steady mature partner to a total psychotic narcissist. Believe me, he's the real deal, has skills, talent and conveys emotions so well. I can't wait to proudly watch him soar and make a name for himself. Feel free to check the dramas someone already named out above :DD

Yup. I don't think it's about his acting... I believe most people who were complaining the loudest don't even know him unlike the SML here who is rather popular and more of a veteran actor – so they are biased towards him, find him hotter and manlier and are imagining his chemistry with an actress as skilled as Haesun better. I myself don't recall watching him in anything. But I watched enough Gong Myung's projects to know that he can serve. He's become one of my top favorite actors because he's actually delivering very well and I was so excited to see him het a lead role. And then all that undeserved backlash came 😔😔
I hope he doesn't end up like Park Seoham in the recent drama about raising a baby which just ended up being a real bad love triangle bringing unneccessary hate to the actor who played SML and who will now be associated with that role by many people despite doing a good job and being really sweet. 😒
No point crying about it people will just always judge things too quickly and harshly without any patience or levity just because it's not their cup of tea rather than being objective about it. 🙄😪 Or they're too butthurt for not having the MLs exchanged.
FL is kinda unlikable, ML is great, he definitely carried the first two episodes.

It definitely looks like it will be slowburn. Might end up platonic, but the foreshadowing still there. Can't blame you for feeling confused about so much random stuff happening in the first ep though, I think it will take time puzzling it together😁
