Interesting. The main characters go by their Islamic names rather than their legal Chinese names. Subtitles read "Gubo," but his parents actually call him Gubaiyi or Gubaier, which is probably the Arabic name Qubayr. And Asheeyen sounds like it's either her nickname, or that it came from Asiya.

There's no dialect at all. You're probably noticing a difference because none of the actors are dubbed. They all use their real voice. But, I do notice that most of the cast is from Mandarin-speaking provinces/cities, particularly Beijing, so they mostly have that northern accent, with the curled tongues.

Who put the thriller tag? It's political scenes do give off an intense and oppressive vibe, but there's literally nothing scary in the movie. No psychological war.

Yes. Also I hate that they showed the entirety of the truth instead of letting the audience think. That just ruins the fun.

Honestly a lot of Stephen Chow's movies sound like that too. It really throws me off cuz I'm used to watching Canto-drama where every actor use their real voice regardless of where they're from.

I can't speak for every actor since I'm not familiar with some, but Jay Chou, Anthony Wong, Chapman To, and Jordan Chan sound exactly like their real voice.

Never read the manga, but both of the father-son duo relationship in here is so funny in their own ways

I think it acts as an interesting contrast between father and son. Bunta chose romance over sport, while Takumi chose sport over romance.
