They're fans of the game that this drama was adapted from and they're angry about the changes. FYI, in china the…
I haven't watched it yet and I'm only halfway through the game. I'll let you know after I finish. But I've played the author's other games before (really good) so I know it must be unacceptable changes to the characters or ending? Like, Liu Xiuwen's personality was the complete opposite in the game (a f*ckboy).
Is it better than the korean version? I've been trying to finish it but it's so boring I am so disappointed. Since…
Chinese version = dark, mature, complex/detailed plot Korean version = typical shoujo romance I prefer this version, mainly because of the strong female lead. I think the Korean version is better in romance/comedy, but the modern music feels out of place sometimes.
You guys said it's not scary, but I still flinched at the jump scares in the beginning. Horror was toned down a lot in the second half. Aside from the failure to portray the game's creepy atmosphere, another big difference was that all the folklore and religious elements were erased. Wei also had a lot more screentime since half the story was told from his point of view.
Kasuo is really strong in the book but the drama made him seem useless :(Thank god he became stronger later on
Yes, Kasuo is the main lead. It's been 4 years since I watched but I don't remember him becoming evil though. Don't worry, this man has A LOT of screentime, especially in the second half when they go to the shrine. They probably didn't update the wiki because they find Yingkongshi more interesting :)

Oh you still haven't watched it? ML started out quite strong in the first few episodes but then the Fire Tribe ripped his kingdom apart, killed his family (not a spoiler), and he became extremely depressed. He does become extremely powerful the second time the Fire Tribe attacks. The FL and 2nd ML are very strong though, they're the most interesting characters in the drama.
I hate the screenwriter. She freaking RUINED my favorite game ughhh (/‵Д′)/~ ┻━━┻
The original Su Cheng from the video game was hardworking and independent. This drama made her annoying, shallow, immature, and useless. All the scenes of her fighting through obstacles were completely skipped! Even if that wasn't a big problem since the focus of the story was the harem... the second female lead has more screentime than all the harem men combined?? Wtf?? And they casted some ugly-haired uncle for Ye Chen?? Excuse me?? Don't adapt a drama if you're not gonna take it serious (/‵Д′)/~ ┻━━┻
This drama is yet another reason why I hate reading comments on a drama before watching it. I originally put this…
The ending isn't random, it was actually foreshadowed by the snowbird scene at the beginning of the series and Snow Tribe grandma. But you'll have to read the book to fully understand KS and YKS's reincarnation curse. It's a lot sadder in the book, so I prefer this ending.
Can someone spoil the ending for me? The show doesn't say it is a tragedy but people seem to dislike the ending,…
Everyone died from war except KS and the Dream Tribe's king. YKS sacrified himself for KS and fell into a reincarnation loop (foreshadowed in the first episode). Still, it's not as sad as the book's ending. I prefer this one.
Is it worth watching drama? Like Untamed or something similar?
The first 4 episodes are kinda bad. The pacing is slow but the plot becomes super good later on. I skipped all the flashbacks. Besides, the visuals are very aesthetically pleasing. They expanded the backstories of many supporting characters that weren't mentioned much in the novel.
Hi! I am trying this out as my first xianxia drama, since it's such a popular classic and I just finished episode…
If you're looking for something more focused on cultivation instead of mythology and beasts then you should watch The Untamed or The Journey of Flower. Chinese Paladin is definitely a classic that nobody can surpass. Or if you watch anime, I recommend Modao Zushi (the Untamed) and Rainbow Cat & Blue Rabbit: Legend of the Seven Swords.
