I am not sure if you were referring to my comment (from 2 months ago) : just in case you were I'll try to remove the misunderstanding my "sentence structure and phrasing" seems to have created around my opinion of CWS.

(I received some EXTREMELY RUDE, out of line language usage, as responses to that comment - so this addresses them too .. since they too have misread / misunderstood what I was trying to express).

I think there is a mix-up that occurred between my DESCRIPTION of the ROLE he ENACTED in dramas VS the description of him as an ACTOR and his TALENT.

I think I CLEARLY rated him as AN UNDISPUTED TOP TALENT as an actor .. That he pulled off NUANCED, DIFFICULT, ROLES with superb finesse and accuracy! Roles that require subtlety and layering of multiple emotions ..

I THINK I clearly mentioned that I AM EAGERLY awaiting this NEW DRAMA.

Maybe if my comment gets a PROPER READ THROUGH one cannot miss the DISTINCTION I made while describing WHAT, IMO, constitutes a TOUGH ROLE TO ENACT and the fact that Choi Woo Shik the ACTOR, PULLS IT OFF so skilfully.

YES of course everyone is free to CHOOSE which CWS role / drama is their favourite.
I chose BELOVED SUMMER.

What MOST people on this thread are in AGREEMENT with is that CWS IS A TOP NOTCH TALENT.. With which I am in UNISON.

I hope this clears up the MISREADING of my comment from 2 months ago.

Those final evocative scenes of the wafting smoke, the plates of incense being worship fully placed around her bed, him wiping her hands.

That noodle soup scene was one of the most poignant drama moments I've ever watched..
The fact that he smiled and "smelt" it, it's flavours wafting towards him - a man who makes a living with his smell sense -and then walked away leaving it there on the road encased in its box 🤌🏽🤌🏽🔥🔥🤌🏽🤌🏽

PURE HAIKU quality moment!!!

Then that final calling out his name!!!!!
It's "intimate" since the whole drama had hinged around so much formality in their interactions maintaining the hierarchy the "rules" of touch and speech and address between the classes and people of status, between nobles and royals and staff.

That last bit of her joining the force felt a bit out of sync.

But I tried to rationalize with : she saw how they save lives / wanted to be with ML as close as possible since he did live a dangerous life / she was disqualified as a doctor and anyway would need to retrain in a new job / she wanted to save lives most.

I'd have love to have seen her and him "mending" - her awake and going about her day and "reciprocating" in full measure.

What happens after needed a proper closure.

The ratings would have gone up to 8 plus

Go Soo is a TOP KDrama actor of yore .. He became a rage after some of the old school Melo's he did back in the day ..

I was swept away by his superb acting and his captivating (jelly knee) visual 😝

SO in those days people were said to have the Go Soo Flu 😆

These were the days of the CLASSIC MELOs. Strong Stories and not afraid to have a lot of angst and complexity of character ..
