Both are Kdramas

The FL in Red Sleeve wasn't my cuppa - so I had to grit my teeth in the beginning episodes .. it also began with many 'cringey - cheesy' Kdrama tropes .. which frankly had me drop the show for a LOOOONG time .. but I picked it up again because I kept hearing how brilliant Jun Ho (who I LOVE as an actor ever since Just Between Lovers) was in it.

What I noticed is that as the drama progressed the FL grew on me .. and her acting got better and better. And of course Jun Ho .. shone.

Not an easy straight story ar all. Try it.

Bloody Heart .. beginning to end .. the story raced breathlessly .. LOVED LOVED the actress .. one of my ALL TIME favourite ..

I LOVED that MAD tangled one soooo much .. binged TWICE .. and might actually do so third time someday, when I return to Kdrama again

At the moment I am new to Cdrama - just 5 months - so am having fun discovering the actors and great dramas and genres here.

I ALSO LOVED how the SML was treated in the script .. ufff richness of script and story.

lol .. cool .. Mouse prioritised for a day I want to sink into a solid thriller.

I'll be honest .. I watch Drama for romance / man - woman tangled relationships primarily ..

So unless I know for sure that romance is a STRONG engine for the intrigues and greyness .. I'd probably skip ;-p

I watched and went to heaven watching
- The Red Sleeves
- Bloody Heart
- TTEOTM
- SOKP

And amongst Modern settings there are :
- Lighter and Princess
- Beyond the Clouds
- Lovers
- What Happened in Bali
- Age of Innocence

solely for that bomb combo ;-p

I know that it's a mystery / thriller / detective genre .. and usually I am not drawn to it to watching that genre if its purely that ..
UNLESS it has a potent romantic thread that woven into it enriching it.

Eg. Flower of Evil
even "My Name" an action drama would pull me in

BUT yes there IS one such drama (called Psychopath Diaries) in the genre I thoroughly LOVED inspite of it being almost totally devoid of romance .. simply because I was checking out an actor's work (Yoon Shi Yoon) and he was BRILLIANT and the DRAMA a perfect dark comedy with stellar actors.

Cool I'll take a peak .. I think I have it on my watchlist somewhere still.

I think it also depends on eye of beholder, I guess.

I found her features quite plain Jane .. who looked radiant in some of the scenes .. by sheer styling and acting skill.
I could focus on what a SUPERB actress she was.

Sheer pretty / drop dead gorgeous actresses for me are : Ni Ni (in Parallel World) / Bai Lu / Wang Chu Ran (FOMH) and a whole host of Kdrama actresses eg. Bae Suzy / Song Hye Kyo etc

They are fantastic actresses too .. but the eyes will sometimes get paralysed and stick on their faces and miss the action ROFL

How does one lobby for Viki / Netflix to get this show?

SO badly want to watch on the big screen ..

After LIGHTER and PRINCESS .. this show became my addiction

Oh absolutely!!
It's historically a fact that incestuous marriages were quite common.

In SOKP the first cousins marry.
Uncle and niece marriages are common to preserve property - in some cultures even now.

That's not the point ;-p

I cant ship incestuous LOVE in 2023 .. and will skip ..
But I find it such a sad waste when my fave actors are in it and the story otherwise sounds SO interesting .. did they HAVE to mess up with the DNA :-D
