Lord Pingnan's reading of XW and explanation rounds it off beautifully in the endgame episodes

One needs to pay attention to ML's story arc - his life script - to be left in no doubt as to why he is the way he is around her .. AND also observe .. it's not that way in the beginning .. it creeps up on him .. slowly.
It's also important to watch the action - reaction of FL around him and how it's affecting him ..

I am same as you .. the powerfulness of the acting talent in a role play is what pulls you in totally.
At that point "handsome" is not what's primarily on your mind - whether he is .. or not.

Love my 'toxic' (as labeled by many naysayers ;-p ) leads sooo much.
And all the strategising and game playing of the palace and its residents .. each actor played their role to the T

What a superlative tale of intrigue.

I wish there was an ARROW indicator each time an MDL drama rating went up by a decimal ..
