You ECHOED each and everything I was thinking as I was watching the drama. I binged it .. 4 days in a row!!!!
It's the BEST historical CDramas I have watched .. I stumbled on it .. wanted to watch it .. couldnt find it .. AND THEN I saw I was on YouTube.
Terrible depressing subbing (AI I guess??) .. EVEN THEN I was drawn into it .. MISSED all the BEAUTIFUL poetry .. AI cant translate poems. I wish I could find the poems somewhere ..
It was ONE time I REALLT wished I could speak the language .. and get the rhythm of it .. the formality of it ..
Just blown away.
BUT I can understand why the rating is LOW .. It's not for everyone ..

Not being snooty .. just honest .. won't be an easy watch for people not trained in watching 'political REAL life' films ..

This sounds like "Delicacies Destiny" ~ it has Wang Xing Yue and He Rui Xian.
Although it has very low ratings - 7.6 - I LOVED it and heartily laughed at the antics and all the characters were written with much love and compassion .. even the crazy annoying ones ;-p
MDL brief made me wonder if it's similar in theme and treatment. It seems to have captured hearts immensely.

What a fresh set of characters and tropes are not gaping at old hack viewers...
The ML character is fantastically written - the FL too.
Real - and as real as drama can get
