LMAO ~ oh you bet, how does the writer and director expect the audience to develop even ONE SHRED of empathy for this "spoilt brat" ~ IMO it's an awfully acted role .. and a more talented actress would have interpreted the role better and aroused some feelz in us.

She has this snappily snap way of talking like she has a few loose marbles and hasn't grown beyond 4 y.o. ~ we see behaviour like this in pre-school ..

Kisskh has decent subs.
I've used that earlier.

But I don't want to watch on laptop.
It's Cinematography is made for the big screen - am relishing that aspect a lot.

I too enjoy misunderstandings because it sets me up with the tension of how will they clear this - the moment of realization...

The one and only reason this drama made me split a vein and left me repulsed was the FL - the way she essayed the role.. The way the role was probably written..
Infantile - and it absolutely made no sense to me how Li Xian character was AT ALL into a person with a personality like that.

It was forced and I didn't see it.

Although I didn't watch beyond 2 or so eps..I did FFWD and swooped in and out a bit...realizing that the rest of the characters and story of the Drama was very engaging and done so well.

FL for me was the FLY IN THE SOUP - a delicious warm beautiful soup you are dying to taste and then this DEAD FLY is floating right on top.

Eeyew!!!

Along with BOF this makes top of the REPEL LIST of dramas that left me with a ugh feel.

Believe me when I tell you that after the shock of the FL role I became wary of any drama that listed her as the main character : I'd see her on the cast list and RUN.

Labeled them "not interested".

So didn't watch or even bother to check Ashes of love...
Even skipped LYF.. After seeing her pop up (although in that it's the ML which had the stronger repel factor for me - apologies for those who enjoy his "acting").

It was purely Li Xian which made me take a quick peek at FP.

Unbelievable how captivating her role and acting is in this.

In conclusion it goes to show that often it's the screenplays and directors that "create" these characters and either craft them well or underdone.

Of course the BEST OF THE BEST talents will often know how to spin a role even when the script is weak or the director not very skilled.

That's when you watch dramas whose stories you couldn't be bothered with BUT the roles played by the actors are etched in your mind..

I mean she is WORSE than the FL in Boys Over Flowers (BOF) .. I thought that was the ultimate barf and cringe FL role I have seen until I saw this.

I returned to this page because I am SWOONING over HOW GOOD FP is .. and FL is batting out of the ballpark in the FL role in that.
