You did a great job expressing your views respectfully and with evidence to back up your thesis statements (wink .. Sorry using IGCSE/ IBDP analogy for Eng Lit and Lang)
So IF we keep we keep in mind the fact that FL &ML have been married for 3-4 years questions that pop in my mind :
- what caused the severe drift post early days or hooking up (for eg. dating - proposing - getting married - going through the early days of insane chemistry and totally into each other).
Guessing we will see the arc of the falling out later...was it a slow falling out?
Or is there a sudden, drastic event that caused the rift?
Again - If they fell out with each other over time and got jaded...why are they acting so coy around each other all of a sudden - it's been 3 years!!! You havent just met !!
In Ep 3 scenes between them are playing out like a "contract marriage" category Drama.
That they had no relationship or feelings between them - got married due to pragmatic considerations...and though ML had some initial feels for her, post marriage he got the short end of the stick, therefore soon after his feels went south??
She liked the attention from this forward handsome fellow - but wasn't into him at all except as a lackey for the family and the company??
If above is the situation as it exists in Ep 1-3 Then the slow "growing awareness of each other - physical attraction - new flutters" WORKS.. The way the scenes are being set up makes sense.
His shyness to unzip her blouse - her shock at seeing his bare torso - the flushing as she rewinds the boar killing scene in her head - his discomfort and hesitation to climb into bed or change and shower in the same bath - his curiosity at the ex-bf popping up and silky smooth moves on FL etc all WORK if this was a "no relationship - contract marriage they signed up for". Instead of being time bound it was a lifetime sign on.

The US returned DIL who swigs whiskey neat is a riot - loving her
The crazy aunt with a sharp no nonsense eye is amusing; xexcept when she loses it completely. FL seems to have inherited that strain of anger and cold calculation.
Hilarious BLACK comedy when ML is worried that FL will survive cancer and he does in depth research which FL totally MISREAD as his affection. HA HA HA HA..that's one of my fave funny scene as of now.

Basically a big part was played by the fact that WLIS had a totally different rhythm and vibe.
I could have used a palate cleanser.
