I follow Paul Salopek on Instagram (account is called "Out of Eden")
He's been traversing China on foot ever since I started following him couple of years ago. And he had whetted my curiosity about China.
After Meet Yourself I also put Yunnan on my travel to China list. π€ͺ
Yessss. Agree we ALL love an occasional laid back show.. Enjoying the "travel documentary feel". My go to are Cookery shows set in rustic environments - countryside cooking, gardening shows
MY was bang on hitting all those spots ππ
And I can see it's appeal PLUS it delivers Drama in it. Double whammy. ππ
So π― percent success on that front for MY π
I am in Drama watching for MAINLY the classic drama - with elements that employs TENSION building as a prime mode of story telling..
Taut.. Engrossing.. Mind racing and wide awake.. Gripped.
It does not have to be a mystery or thriller even - or makjang and nutty melo of tropes and gimmicks... Just plain Human Drama from clash of personalities and clash of values presented in a plot driven mode.
That's what made WLIS a 10/10 for me. It's just HUMAN DRAMA.
Iπ the following ones for the same reason :
- I'll come to you when the weather is nice (ironically this one is ALSO set in a FULL ON RUSTIC village and also has an FL with many scars and issues. As well as the ML. ALSO my 10/10 show I was WIDE AWAKE ππ€ AND Binge watched it in one go)
- Strangers Again (two people with different POV on life, work, and relationships. Has an engrossing second couple also...and many many mini tales in it. Adult mature complex).
I finally figured out why Li Xian is so hot. Itβs his scowl. ππ
And the wayhe resists her advances - shy, fake-annoyed, it's not often Drama manages to pull it off with such β€οΈβπ₯β€οΈβπ₯π₯π₯β€οΈβπ₯β€οΈβπ₯
For me itβs nothing but toxic. Most selfish FL I have seen this year
π€£π€£ That's why it's DRAMA. It's pulling us in BECAUSE it's rolling these emotions and thoughts in us by giving us a less than perfect, very REAL LIFE portrayal of a certain type of person
I have a question. Why do these women in their late 20s talk as though they are at the end of their life? This…

Omygawd @kinara βπ½βπ½βπ½ The exact same thought crossed my mind whole watching it.
I'd expect Wang Pen to zone out even if ZJ started to dig herself a hole to wallow in (because she's been through loss and has trauma and memories of it haunting her when triggered by life events).
Hey friend!!! Ive been searching for something to watch. is this worth it?
This drama will set a bench mark and the palate will be reset to such an extent that for a while everything else will taste FLAT (awful - boring, even hunger pangs will be suppressed for a while - it's that filling)
Sounded like a drama right up my alley.
"FIGHT MY WAY" was so hilarious and cute too.. Full bodied rom-com with a bunch of young people..
The poster of ROTP reminded me of that.
Me too travel fanatic.

Don't upgrade or downgrade your actual true evaluation as happened when you rated it.
Am sure you thought about it before marking.. No?
That's the only way we get to
Celebrate a truly fine drama / or express our reservations about it.
