If you liked the 2nd FL I cannot recommend ENOUGH her drama "Delicacies Destiny".
She is a RIOT.
I watched her in that and loved her instantly ,,, I also discovered the INCREDIBLE talent and versatility of WXY ( Duke Su ;-p of THE DOUBLE and ZZ of SOKP).
I laughed so much and chuckled .. very unusual drama .. and her role was YUMMY no kidding

This FL character really triggered you. It's happened for me too in some dramas ..
NEVER GONE was one such drama which gave me tummy upset. The scriptwriter sure knew how to wank my chain, with the way she wrote the FL and the FL-ML dynamic. ROFL

This one I recall feeling a little 'bored' (?? ) It was long ago .. I remember I watched .. put on hold .. then watched again and finished.
I probably need to revisit to recall some of it. I gave it a high rating ... so I must have come away with a pretty decent impression and 'feels'.
DRAMA is SO SO majorly about the 'feelz' it leaves you with.
I don't know whether Dylan is better than Chen or Chen is better than Dylan, all I know is they both killed it…

Guess what .. a year ago I couldn't bear to watch Season 2 EVEN though I was DYING to know what happens after that cliffhanger ending of EN1.
I had NO CLUE who Dylan was .. and 10 min of Ep 1 made me miss CFY SO MUCH.
BUT since then I watched Dylan in his other dramas .. and IMMEDIATELY I realised he was one skilled actor .. and I decided to rewatch EN1 (just last week - after ONE FULL YEAR since last watch) and continue on the momentum to DIVE into EN2 and TRUST Wang He Di to DO HIS MAGIC.
It worked. He was different BUT he WAS BRILLIANT - HE SLAYED IT TOTALLY.
Am SO SO glad that the 7.7 didnt stop me .. nor the change of cast.
I agree with you .. I WEPT SOBBED CHOKED WAY MORE than I did in EN1 (which BTW I also rated 10/10 .. but this for me hit 20/10 once you think of the WHOLE arc of the drama over some 103 eps)
I can't get over just how much more one gets out of the rewatch.I am weeping more - my heart is cracking up -…

Once Sang Sang was left on the snowy field with chills - a cliff hanger ending.... I decided to "hold my nose" / "squint" my way into Ep 1 of Season 2.
Why? - curiosity of what now can happen? What HUGE goals will be set? - how BAD can Dylan Wang be? Unlike the last time (ONE full year ago exactly) when I fell into depression because CFY wasn't in it and some "weird actor" who I didn't know was taking over; this time I KNEW Dylan.
I found him super talented...doing such an I incredible variety of roles...able to carry an entire drama on his shoulders with his acting... I thought let's give this now fave actor of mine a chance - longish rope!!!!
Hand on heart.. He swept up the DRAMA in a scoop and I haven't looked back since Ep 2.
It just took that teeny bit of time to get to know the new cast (only a few are changed - and they are EQUALLY talented).
I'll end with
You ARE MISSING an EPIC.
I have been NOT been so emotionally buffeted even in Season 1 as I am being now.
I binged 12 eps straight (weekend) and plan to finish with one final binge run. Riveting!!!
And what can I say about DYLAN. HE PULLED IT OFF.
ME kowtow to his incredible talent - he didn't let me down.
I didn't bawl my eyes out in season 1.. I am now..

So much so that when I started watching Season 1 second time I had zero plans to watch season 2.
I slurped and double enjoyed my second watch, because I could understand SO much of the interactions - sects - motives - who is who which I didn't in the first round.
Plus it was my first ever Xianxia genre drama and I was CLUELESS about what the heck was "cultivation" and all those strange Xianxia terminology...of sects realms and what not.
But I was gripped by the actors (esp CFY - I was fresh from Lighter and Princess - and tracking his work) and the general story.. I had given it a 9/10 back then.
This round when the drama's tapestry came into full view (because I eventually became a Xianxia expert 🤪) I upgraded season 1 to 10/10.

Yeah I don't mind an FL with some anxieties and worries but what is irksome is the "baby ish" act.
Eg I LOVED Wang Chu Ran in FOMH
Is the ML hot??
