This is the TV Series live action version and we are enjoying it a lot. Thanks for your input but let's not compare…
Dear Alice, I only said that it's more faithful version...I didn't compare as it's two different media + I actually enjoy both of them as each has own merits. And question for anybody: Does anyone know how many eps or seasons is planned for anime?

There is a good anime, much more faithful to original novel story. You can watch it on youtube under Soul Land Duoluo dalu and there is currently 142 ep.

Title Mr. Queen Spoiler
I am quite sad with the ending. Cause it means that Bong Hwan is alone in future. While it might be So Yong emotion which started change, it was clearly shown that step by step he also fell in love with the king and with baby, so he must miss them both. And the same with king - he might fell in love at the first sight with So Yong but that was it. As we see he didn't have a problem to kill her. The reasons why he started to love her was all Bong Hwan silliness, quirkiness and boldness which enabled Queen to do things the original Queen wouldn't be able, like to stand up for herself or cut off her relationship with Kim clan. Also, lady Choi and maid they liked So Long, but it was with Bong Hwan who had little understanding of boundaries lord/servant, that it changed into such a close family-like relationship.

I might be missed something, but did Oh wol - the Jo hwa jin maid, died or not?
I was thinking the same - what happened to her? I think we didn't get the answer :-)

Not big fan of school dramas but I loved how the silliness of that age was portrayed with all the heightened emotions, thinking how the world revolves around their problems.

Unfortunately I was bored watching even the 1st ep which is rare occurrence. The plot didn't get better as the story progressed. Characters, especially villains were 2D and not very intelligent. And so many plot holes, for example in ep 2 or 3 how were they found in the forest - the doctor possibly couldn't know the location etc. I am used these kinds in Chinese dramas but from Koreans in 2020 I expected more. Many people compare Mr. Queen and this one, but for me Queen is a rare gem... if you compare 2 similar roles from both dramas the cook from Queen is darling while I found the servant from Inspector very irritating (I don't mean actor but role itself). In Queen humor and slapstick situation work cause it is main undertone of whole drama, but here we have a story of heroic inspector with politic machination, slavery, corruption topics and unfortunately the servant is over the top comedic relief which I found too artificial and forced. I love historical dramas but in recent years Korean production with exception of Mr. Queen, Six flying dragons and My country the rest is a bit let down and long forgotten from my memory... with comparison of Chinese Royal Nirvana, Rise of Phoeniexes, Yanxi palace etc.

Did anyone watch the kdrama (Run On)? I'm stuck on either watching this first or the kdrama (Run On).
I've just finished Run on before watching this one. Similar vibe but for me Run on was more boring and shallow and empty - trying to be deep but falling shortly. This is more heartwarming and touching with some nice thoughts about life :-) And much better chemistry with lots of kisses :-)

Very heartwarming romcom with subtle and witty humor. No evil characters, schemers, crazy parents...just very mature MC. I liked they slowly but gradually progressed. In many dramas you have kiss(=they are together), holding hands, few dates (hurrah no amusement park date here) , spending night and that's it. But here, we have lots of everyday life scenes where things happen so naturally... At first, you might not feel there is lot of chemistry but actors were great = as relationship developed, chemistry is growing - one of the best...and we've got so many many many kisses. If you realize that shot lasting few seconds can take even hour or more to shoot, they have to spend on it lots of time the in front of camera :-))) he he he. And even though many scenes are clichés, they weren't shallow as in many dramas (for example Korean Run on) and had something touching. No stupid misunderstanding as couple had very good communication. Second couple was very funny and in some way I enjoyed them even more. It was old story very popular in many dramas 10 years ago (girl loves a boy who is injured by his love of life, everything starts going well but old flame returns), hehe, nothing new, but I must say I miss this plot and from time to time I wish Koreans would make a new drama with this type of story :-) I absolutely adored ditzy and little airhead Cheng Cheng - such roles are very often annoying but she was darling. I loved SLs dynamic - teasing and sly tactics. Each of 4 characters had own story background, and reasons for their action... No additional fillers just to be background for main leaders. Sometimes too cheesy, sometimes too fluffy and naive...this drama is good when you want to smile without any needles drama. Very good OST.

Title Run On
The beginning was quite interesting - I liked the concept of many weirdos, especially Dan Ah was good written character which was well acted. She was darling. For me, after ep 6 the story became quite boring and dialogs sometimes felt forced, a bit illogical...I was feeling like:" What do you like, apple or pear?" "Oh, let's go to zoo." I love cheesy things and good endings, but here there was way too much pink lovey couples, cheesy lines trying to be deep, but it felt flat. MC chemistry was a bit lacking. The second couple had much more interesting story that could make a new drama :-)

Story itself was lacking and surprisingly the most boring part was the middle, not the end. Why they use still the same things in every fluffy romcom - the poor girl stumbled so many times, even though she is of the sports department :-( The best part was MC chemistry (off screen is even better) + actually I found the second pair much more interesting. It is nice to watch in between but don't high expectation.

Nice drama to watch when you are in between...I didn't have any expectation so I wasn't disappointed. And first few episodes I really had to endure, not sure whether to continue, but then it got better. The story plot and dialogues are a bit let down, as well as choppy cuts. I like wuxia type stories, but this one was done like older dramas from years ago. They used kidnapping at least 30x!!!, basically all big shots have tragic stories and die,etc... when director is not sure about dialogue, they always made Xie Yun joking which works but not when you used it all the time. A very nice surprise was Wang YiBo acting - after Untamed I wasn't sure (it was very reserved character) but here he pulled it off easily and naturally, so I am looking forward to his future roles. Both ML were good and there was nice gradual character development and from little chemistry, as they fall in love to good chemistry.

Very nice slow-burn...I liked it a lot. Just the ending - as almost always - was a bit lacking. I don't need wedding or kisses but something saying that they are clearly couple. Since they got together, except birthday party, there is no couple time...nothing, showing us their funny chemistry, especially when we waited sooo long. And his breakdown wasn't very believable for me. If director wanted something about ML, they should have focused on his family.

Some dramas are character driven and some plot driven. If we have both in one drama, then it is a masterpiece. This drama is more plot driven and unfortunately many characters are underdeveloped or feel just as decoration, like our cop duo from police team which were there probably only as a comedy relief. I quite liked the story, but if you choose such a heavy topic as children abuse and experiments, which made us, viewers, feel enraged watching the both main scientist and then you don't deliver proper punishment, many of us is gonna feel unsatisfied and maybe little disappointed. For example, what happen with murder of drug dealer? And lastly, dialogs felt a bit forced and artificial...our siblings had only few bonding moments but what we've got? She was repeatedly advised to go home and that coffee is good? But anyway, I quite enjoyed the drama...pacing and how story unfolds was nice.

Production, CGI and music are really beyond most of chdramas. Wow. Acting is ok, could be better, especially FL, but we've seen much worse. For me, the best acting from newbies have both leads of second pair - Du Shao Yang and Xie Jing. But even with such a fine production, it is so much lacking. If you butcher characters of original story, to make them more likable to audience, so be it. But then why are you trying to follow events in novel, for example Secret realm or getting frost diagrams...in drama many things happen so briefly, without any explanation (only those reading novels can fully understand)...would't it be better, just to skip some novel parts and make more free adaption? It is like when painting wallpaintings, you need to use different techniques than for oil paintings. Why butcher novel, but follow the novel? But then leave the best part - the cruelty of Heavenly race which made ML to do some morally cruel and questionable things, but it gave it edge of the story and why so many readers liked the novel. Whether he overpower his bloodline or not, that was the most interesting part of the novel.

Some dramas you love cause they are good, have a good story, characters, production or they touch your heart... and some dramas although missing some of these things, you just love them cause you enjoyed them and Eternal loves are such dramas for me. To compare, I would choose TMOPB, ELOD and Love and Destiny...ELOD has the weakest and least interesting story of all 3, you with to skip some parts but I loved the main couple most: foxy Feng Jiu and bored bully Dong Hua and especially ep. 24-36 made it one of my most favorite, but I would admit there are far better dramas out there :-)

Hidden gem. It is heart-warming, you will laugh, maybe cry and you will definitively be touched. So many characters and each was written lovely with care and with their own story. They are important, not just additional extras. I loved both main leads and Shan Shan was pure delight - we get to see a lot cute silly girls but she has her own charm different from rest of the lot. FL was little brave soldier which could also show us her vulnerability. ML was almost too good to be real but his roguish side made him charming. Romance is slow-burn, no kiss but there is so much love :-) OST beautifully completes scenes and for Chinese drama it's way above average. The only minus is that it is bit too long.

At first I thought around 16 years old and high school but she started to work as intern and she mentioned that…
I thought that she disappeared to give birth around 2001, they met briefly in 2003, then she again disappeared, just to meet each other again in 2004...and they were together in 2011..but I sometimes skipped some scenes, so I am not sure about timeline. What surprised me that he didn't know that she is a daughter of his boss.

Not sure what writers were gonna do with the story. I was ok, but too many characters, too many unfinished stories...too many overplots with plotholes... but I like ML and his badassness + he is a good actor :-) Unfortunately there was no character development, therefore it would need strong storyline which here wasn't delivered. Maybe screenwriter wanna show us how difficult life for police in narcotics is...but as a whole it was missing something... And what was the purpose of their little road trip? For Gan Tian Lei to remember? So to summarize this is ok police drama to spend time in between dramas when you are not sure what to watch. No romance here.
