Omg.. but yes! He definitely should do that, if he just quits then she will get the heat for not being able to keep an important member. But if he's honest about the situation, and stressing that HS did not make any moves on him, the boss might even support it (not that they need his support for anything, but as a viewer it would be nice to have a character root for them lol).

I was so scared that Hyo Jun would start simping for Mi Rim now that he knows she's a lawyer, honestly he might still do that.... it sucks that Mi Rim is such a fun character, but her storyline is not. I hate that literally every character and "side storylines" get screen time every single episode. With the pace they're currently moving, it would be better to focus on less storylines each episode, and have some characters show up only every other episode. That way it might feel less draggy.

Another week, another round of live-commentating as I watch ep 18.
- Omg how did he not throw up when she got her snot all over his tie and then looked at it for like a solid 5 seconds???? love?? if that's love i don't want it lol
- Hyo Seong going off on his wife, finally! And we get some more in-sight to what her parents are like... It's understandable why she is like that, but at the same time it's no excuse. She spoils her daughter with love she probably never received, but completely neglects all other human beings lol.
side note: why is the actor of Hyo Seong acting like that though??? He would sell it more if he didn't act like an upset child.
- I knew HS would reject TH, because that anchor lady..... but it still hurts.
- Ok, I'm glad TM is drawing a line with refusing to have HS as a mistress.... he's still an ass though.
- With each passing episode I care less and less about Ggeut Sun, Mr Park, Ga On, and the grandma.
- Why do I feel like crying when Hyo Seong is being nice to HS? She deserves some familiar love too. That small gesture by him probably took so much weight off her shoulders.
- Goddammit I love Mi Rim a lot. She only spits truths.
- Ugh... so TM apparently thinks its wrong to have HS as a mistress, because he won't be in full control of his life then as it wasn't his choice to marry the anchor lady in the first place. But sexually harassing HS is apparently not crossing the line to him. Honestly... both TM and TH are being pushy, but in very different ways. TM only does things while thinking about himself. TH is pushy, while also listening to HS. The situation is also different because HS didn't say no to TH because she didn't want it, but because she wasn't allowed at work.
.....wouldn't it be a good move for TH to just change trainer in a way that she doesn't lose her job? He can just be honest with the boss and say he switched trainers because he has feelings for her.

Definitely ridiculous! And apparently she did it, not because she is upset her husband left, but because she's upset at one of her children??? Since Hyo Do asked "who was it this time?". So extra of her. I can't feel bad for her being a single mother, when this is how she's acting..

- Although I hate seeing the siblings (other than HS of course) and their mother, it was actually nice to see all together for once. Even though the mother was being so extra.
- TM is SOOO controlling, I'm glad TH is calling him out for being so weird with his obsession over HS.
- I like that Hyo Sung is giving Hyo Joon a lecture to stop being a little punk. But Hyo Sung is also using Hyo Sim. Please get ur things together and divorce that evil wench of a wife you have. I hate that they tried to humanize her a few episodes ago with her working a part-time job, but then just going back to normal, acting like a Karen.
Am I supposed to feel bad for any of the brothers? Because I don't feel a thing. I can see that Hyo Sung is the only one with remorse towards HS, but at the same time he is too much of a coward to go against his own wife. I want HS to start living her own life.... when will this happen? pls.
- TH acting like a golden retriever is the cutest thing ever, he is so talkative and energetic it's truly endearing. But that goodbye wave from the car has to be the weirdest thing I've seen in a while lol I'm sorry... why did he wiggle his fingers like a creep I can't.

This episode was kind of a bore, I really don't care about Ggeut Soon and her antics, she is making "the rooftop lady's" story boring as well. All her character is now is to be annoyed with Ggeut Soon.

Yeah, second male lead is definitely toxic! He won't take no for an answer and he listens to no one.
I think why our female lead isn't responding to any romance is because of a lot of reasons. She probably has never been loved all her life, both by boys/men but also by her own family. Another reason is that she is trying to keep a professional line between trainer and gym member.
Slowburn romances is not for everyone, but I'm personally absolutely loving seeing small progress and development at every episode~

1. I view it differently, to me Go Joo Won (Tae Min) is very clearly the second male lead. Although it's clear that he really likes Hyo Sim, you don't see it reciprocated. She has turned him down several times. She refused the gift first, and he ignored her refusal and told her to accept it. She did so reluctantly. It is normal to feel thankful and happy when you receive a gift from anyone, so it's not weird that she doesn't hate the gift. She didn't seem overjoyed or anything to me. Her chemistry with Ha Joon (Tae Ho) is in my opinion more nuanced and developed. It's clear by now that he likes her, but he still doesn't know the extent to how much yet. Hyo Sim has had to deal with Tae Mins feelings for her, so she hasn't had a moment to stop and think about her own feelings. What we do know is that both Tae Ho and Hyo Sim feel comfortable around each other, and they do care a lot about each others well-being. I look forward to see this develop further, keep in mind we still have 34 episodes left!

2. I'll watch episode 17 in a few hours, but I think in the preview she says no to Tae Ho because of what the news caster lady said to Hyo Sim about "getting cozy" and "flirting" with the gym members. She probably doesn't want to get accused of that.

Definitely! Seeing anyone other than HS, TH, and Mirim on screen boils my blood. Even seeing Mirim with Hyo Joon makes me mad because she deserves better than what he is right now..... I would not mind seeing her beat his ass up lol.

Oh this love line for sure already got me screaming crying kicking my feet :D
A big difference to TRHC main couple....

It's been a busy week but I've looked forward to this ep a lot!

Here are my live thoughts as I'm watching it;
- Hyo Sim is an ugly crier just like me ! (Uee did a good job wow)
- NO BUT THs REACTION WHEN HE SAW THAT IT WAS HS THAT CALLED HIM. I rewatched this bit like 5 times... from the way his eyes grew bigger, quickly got out of bed, and clearing his throat... he's down BAD. And then he acts like a tsundere when answering lol.
- TH is already so sweet to her, but i can't wait to see them act in love and truly cherish each other wow.
- Broo, TM is so nasty. Why is he acting like he owns HS, they're not even together. He's not even giving TH a ride???
- TM really doesn't listen to anyone. He's so unbearable. He won't listen to what HS has to say, and he won't listen to what TH wanted to ask.
- Hyo Jun is still a headass, oh my god.
- THE LOOK TH GIVES HER WHEN HE SEES HER ON THE RUNWAY. HE'S SO FLUSTERED. YES HS, WALK THAT WALK STRAIGHT INTO HIS HEART!!
- "I've been wanting to see you in a skirt." OK PLEASE CALM... and he literally said ' i'm allowed to fantasize' lmaoo
- No but wtf, he's basically saying "thank god, bc i don't want to fight with TM over you", WHAT. sounds a lot like a confession to me......
- Actually, his confession is so refreshing. It's not a straight up confession but more of a "I really enjoy your company and would like to continue this, is that ok with you?" This is so wholesome, I wish more ML/FLs were like this. I can understand HS' reaction though, TM has been so overbearing and with all her family problems she probably hasn't had a time to stop and think about what SHE wants.
- Hyo Do is disgusting too tbh, he needs a good whack in the head for what he said.
- HS killed it on the runway! The looks the cousins exchanged afterwards lol, TH is like "Two can play this game" (although TH would never actually make it into a "game").

For tomorrow's episode... I both look forward to it, and don't. Because that news caster lady Soogyeom(?) will just come and ruin everything and take us back to square one, ughhhh.

I don't drop shows too often, but I really had to drop this. I hate that most office romance cdramas have such a big focus on the OFFICE part, but I can overlook that (aka fast forward those parts) if the romance is good. This one started off good in ep 1 and 2, the ML seemed to be intrigued by the FL already at first glance. And the FL seemed confident and headstrong. 10 episodes later, they are acting like kindergarteners. I don't understand why the FL decided to "pursue" him lol. The ML is stiff as a board, barely saying anything.. just *existing* and letting FL do whatever it is she's doing, and apparently falling for it?
I had such high expectations for this drama... ugh.

I feel bad for the cast, they're doing them so dirty with this.

Episode 5 is also postponed??? oh my god this is a MESS

You always word things so eloquently, and it's always spot on with my own thoughts!
Family dramas usually are, and this drama especially, about filial piety, I have hope in that it will do a good job in explaining the nuances to the concept. While yes, there is a struggle of balancing filial piety with individualism, if one is keeping a healthy relationship to both, then one is not superior to the other. This is something I struggle with personally, as someone raised here in the West, but with some Asian values from my mother's side.
But we are already seeing the different views in the drama. Where filial piety is more prominent in HS's family. And as you said, there is a theme of patriarchy too, which just adds another layer and works in tandem with filial piety, as they are both a part of Confucianism. On the other hand, individuality is pushed in Hyo Seongs household. Individuality is more of a western concept, and perhaps that's why the kids have western names like "Ruby" and "Phillip", to help display that contrast.

It wouldn't surprise me if Ru Bi's words make HS waver about if her feelings for TH is actually because she likes him, or if she only likes him out of charity. Hopefully she'll listen to TH's grandmas words to follow her heart. Because HS did not feel that same pull to TM when he told her his life story that is also very pitiful. As you mentioned, HS is comfortable and on the same footings with TH, and this is not because they are on the same social standings, but because he TRULY respects her. Compared to TM who respects her on surface, doing kind things for her because he believes they are kind gestures, but doesn't actually LISTEN to her. A blatant comparison of this is when TH literally begged her for a meal, but by asking he gave her the option to decline. In the end, she even got to decide to go to a samgyetang restaurant instead of a hangover soup restaurant. Whereas TM on the hand, has literally DRAGGED her with him on more than one occasion.
My preferred resolution to this love triangle is that TM realizes that HS is happier with TH while simultaniously starts truly caring about his nephew and realizes that HS is good for and to him, and that TH deserves happiness. Rather than TM just backing off because he "doesn't have a shot". Perhaps then, I can start to like him lol.

Late thoughts but not much happened in ep. 13.
But here's my take on Rubi's comments;
Nevermind the WAY she said it, that's a whole different discussion, because of course she cannot say anything without being rude. I don't fully agree with what Rubi said to HS, but it does hold SOME truth to it. I think there are underlying reasons, unhealthy reasons, as to why HS is letting herself get used and exploited by her family members. This will probably get explored later down the line with how her father left. Yet, I disagree with Rubi in that it is HS's problem entirely. The FAMILY are the problem for exploiting her. HS is kind, but she is not "brain dead", she often expresses her opinions and feelings. She wouldn't stay with a man she didn't like just for charity, we have seen this with how she KEEPS denying Tae Min, when he clearly expresses his "need" for her. There is nothing wrong with being kind, and wanting to help family members even if they are shitty at times.. after all they are family and people express their love for family in different ways. Rubi calling her codependent is just factually wrong, she does not fit the criteria of codependency, such as inability to identify your feelings, believing that people are uncapable to take care of themselves, having a need to control or obsession. But I do think she is dealing with low self-esteem that needs to be addressed.

Yeah, his only saving grace is something he didn't even choose to do himself lol. Like, we get it.. Hyo Do's whole personality is liking money. At least Hyo Joon and Mi Rim a lot more fun to watch because I actually like Mi Rim and their bickering lol.
It's also reminding me a lot of the maknae couple in Young Lady and Gentleman, a whole mess. Are there actually people who enjoy these???? Why do they keep adding these to fill out the script? If you need a filler at least make it enjoyable.....

NO FR THE TAEHEE HYODO STORYLINE IS SUCH A SNOOZE! I definitely skip a LOT when they are on the screen and I don't even regret it. I have missed the reason as to why they are out here caring for chickens, and frankly I don't care either lol

I love how TH acted cool in front of TM when he found out HS brought him home, but as soon as he was left alone he started freaking out.... what a nerd, so cute.

Live thoughts while watching ep 12:
- TM is so nasty. WHY is he acting like HS cheated on him with his nephew? HS was so real for telling him off for only speaking his mind without listening to what she has to say, or how she feels.
- Rubi is by far the most annoying character on this show..... yet I can't blame her too much since she's a child who grew up a mother like hers (yet Phillip turned out well, so maybe I can blame her lol).
- Hyo Jun is also annoying but somehow I can understand his stress more because we've seen his vulnerable side, and maybe because I can relate since it took me 5 years to graduate from a 3 year program lmao
- Ok, my favorite thing is THs nervous habit to start playing with objects around him when he's on the phone with HS.
- YOO TH IS SO WHIPPED HE FEELS CONTENT BY JUST WATCHING HER EAT. pls I want someone to look at me like he looks at her when she's eating with gusto.
- Oh no... he's getting a phone call, I know what's coming but I don't want to see him upset again
- Looks like some of them will figure out that the rooftop grandma is advisor Choi in the next ep, I reaaally hope they won't drag out TH not knowing for more than 10 more episodes max.

Oh they are killing this show with this schedule of airing one episode every TWO weeks.

I agree lol... I never read the webtoon, I wonder if they dress like in the webtoon or if it's just bad styling by the team.

I'm confused, so in the preview for next ep they say you can't break the curse if you tell the person about it first? But when the FLs sister had to break her curse when she was younger, they told Woo Taek about it to get him to kiss her in dog form right? Or maybe they just forced him to kiss the dog? either way, can't the FL just transform into a dog in front of Seo Won and a second witness (her sister or his nephew) force him to kiss her in dog form?
