On Ode to Joy Season 2 Mar 20, 2017
Soooo excited for this drama!! Heard it's gonna start airing on May 11th!!
I loved the first season so much that I started reading the novels that the drama was based on. Season one was based on the first novel and I'm now on book two but I'm putting off book two until I finish watching the second season :D

So, i just watched the first ep after all the rave reviews and it was pretty meh, does it take a while to get…
most people start falling crazy in love with the drama either starting from episode 7 or episode 12, but the first 10 episodes are definitely important to the storyline since it introduces a lot of characters and important plot points. So I suggest powering through because you'll definitely be rewarded!! :D

just fyi the main otp isn't fully introduced till like episode 12 so maybe that's why it's more boring?? but yeah first few episodes have been a bit boring for some people but if you scroll through comments below, everyone started loving it after the first few episodes.

Is it really that awesome as some people say? I mean, i watched the first episode and i remembered one if the…
The first couple of episodes may not be interesting enough for some people since the main OTP is not introduced but they are necessary episodes to introduce important character and plot points/background. Once you hit episode 12, that's when the main romance starts and you'll definitely be hooked!! :D

It doesn't happen until the last 2 episodes. So you still have quite a bit to go! The ending is a happy one though, so don't worry :D

This drama is so beautiful I am still confused on what lives they or at now I finished episode 10 and mo yuan…
Yup, it's a different person! Mo Yuan has a beard for pretty much the entire drama, so it makes him easily identifiable. The guy that looks exactly like him without a beard is Ye Hua (he should be introduced very soon since you're on episode 10).

The main leads had a happy ending, but I still feel like the ending wasn't very satisfying. They could have…
I agree --they should've shown Ye Hua and Bai Qian's wedding!! haha and perhaps how they have a second child later on or something ( I found like these extra prologue thingies online in Chinese and I read them and they're all super cute and fluffy!! but I think they need to buy like the copyrights to these extra parts or smth so maybe thats why they didn't include them?? who knows haha) but the ending that the drama gave is pretty nice too :D

Zi Lan and Yan Zhi can't really be together because that rule of Heavens Tribe and Ghost Tribe not being able to marry each other still exists. Zi Lan already took a great risk by making those pills for Yan Zhi to use since he was making it for a member of the Ghost Tribe. Also, if a person from the opposite tribe marries into the other tribe, their kid usually turns out dead or stillborn (like Xuan Nu and Li Jing's child) so it's just against the rules I guess :( but they were soooo cute

I wanted to like this but I'm finding it very distracting since it seems like it is dubbed over in Mandarin....even…
China has multiple dialects, so to make sure that the dialogue all maintain the same standard Chinese dialect, a good majority of dramas (especially historical ones) are dubbed. Mark Chao is Taiwanese, so he has a Taiwanese accent. A few of the other actors have different dialect accents too.
