I just want to say that the writers/production actually did a really good job adapting the novel (mostly from…
Have you two watched Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan? or read the novels that the drama was based on? I watched the drama and I read the books afterwards ( I even read the manhwa version after I read the book) and I have to say, the series is definitely my favorite historical fiction drama/books! :D
Eternal Love and Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan are also my two favorite dramas of all time too haha
It's been weeks since I finished watching Eternal Love, yet I'm still here. Can't help but keep…
I feel the same! I always come back to this page to chat with other EL fans :D
That episode is episode 30 and I'm sure a lot of people love that episode as it's the episode with the most views on YouTube out of the entire drama. (2.5 mil views compared to the avg of 1.6 mil views for other episodes)
I was just scrolling down the page and I've got to say, I'm surprised by the lack of any negative comments.…
Personally I am a huge chinese historical drama fan but I actually really really do not like the fantasy genre (from any country tbh) and this drama was actually my first fantasy drama ever. Totally loved it! Also definitely the most romantic drama that at least I've ever watched.
like moondust said, if you start it, you should watch at least up to episode 10 or episode 12 because that's when the real romance starts that makes everyone obsessed with it haha :D (I personally started loving it after just a few eps) but the first ten episodes are really important to the story and plot so you shouldn't skip it either.
I am glad I didn't watch the trailer for this drama and watched it after I finished the drama. It's…
I think it's funny because it doesn't seem like the mainland Chinese population care if there are spoilers in the trailer hahahaha (I personally like spoilers) but I totally get what you mean!! at least this trailer was only 3 minutes long; some trailers are like 20 minutes long and literally give you the entire summary of the drama LOL
I still can get into romance part and can't stand all female rival characters and their portrayal. Only Dong…
I agree ---not really sure how Dong Hua started to have feelings for Feng Jiu.
The only plausible explanation I can think of are real life examples (real life couples in my life LOL). A lot of couples are opposites from each other and are formed by one side chasing after the other relentlessly. Usually one person is the quiet/serious one and their partner is often the opposite personality. I guess eventually as time develops, something about the person who chases after them really tugs at their heart or something haha but I’ve actually seen something like DH/FJ happen a lot in real life so I guess I’m less surprised?? If you’ve seen the chinese drama My Sunshine (or read the novel), you’ll kind of get what I mean by the girl being constantly going after the guy and for some reason he is just eventually moved by her antics. Kind of like how if something is constantly there, and then it disappears, you suddenly miss it. I feel like DH/FJ is kind of like that haha.
I think a more plausible explanation though, is idk if you've gotten to this part yet, sooooo [SPOILER]
but the part where it explains about his name being wiped off from the Three Lives Stone thing. I read somewhere that a lot of mainland china fans speculate that his name was supposed to be next to Feng Jiu's initially, and that even though he wiped it off, it still had a slight lingering affect on him and his feelings? Instead of DongHua DiJun, it said WenChang DiJun, and some people say that WenChang is just like a name change for him or something I'm not quite sure.
This drama focuses alot on a popular Chinese idea of 缘分--yuan fen. (there isn’t a direct english word for this but it’s roughly translated to like fate/destiny/what the world’s got planned for you). I guess DH/FJ just had the yuan fen to work out. And it’s because of yuan fen that YH just so happened to be the golden lotus that BQ took care of, yuan fen that she was the human SuSu that he fell in love with later on, yuan fen that they met again etc.
After typing all this, I realized it would be easier if I could explain in Mandarin, but I tried my best :D This is really fun!! Discussing all this with everyone :))

I don't think Xuan Nu was very rival material though?? like even when she used to hang with Bai Qian back at Qing Qiu, she was never really rival material, and I think that's one of the reasons that causes her to want to get at a higher level since she feels that Bai Qian has always been so much more privileged than her just in general.
Su Jin was pretty annoying; I found it understandable that because she had lived as Ye Hua's friend all her life, she didn't just always want to be his friend lol. But yeah she should've known when to stop with her actions since they had like no effect on Ye Hua lololoololz.
In episode 26, she goes back to being her immortal form of Bai Qian. She voluntarily chooses to forget her memories of her human time because of how painful it was.
Li Jing does like her, and many feel that Mo Yuan does too. But there isn't like those dramatic annoying love triangle fights like in other dramas; everything's pretty controlled in my opinion :D
It's kind of hard to make a distinction. The second lead actor would definitely be Vengo Gao, since Mark Chao is the main actor. But as for the second male lead character, it's been a debate as to whether Mo Yuan, Li Jing or Dong Hua is the second male lead character.
If i liked Journey of the flower, princess weiyoung, general and i, will i like this drama?
yes you will! I loved Princess Weiyoung, but I haven't seen Journey of Flower and I dropped General and I.
but Journey of the Flower is directed by the same director of Eternal Love, so you'll probably like it! :D
Soooo excited for this drama!! Heard it's gonna start airing on May 11th!! I loved the first season so much…
I read it on this website: http://www.fhxiaoshuo.com/read/77/77943/
this website doesn't separate the chapters by book, so chapters 1-99 are book 1.
book 2 starts on chapter 100 and idk where it ends since I haven't gotten that far yet haha
there's also an app on google play store (idk if it's on the apple store) called ”淘小说" and if you download that app, it also has the entire series on it for free! (I'm currently reading novels on that app when I'm on the go) :D
how did DH and FJ have a kid in the pillow book???
