Omfg I had to stop at the end of the first ep. I'm so confused wth. I feel like I'm watching something…
yeah you've gotta get through at least the first 10 episodes!! some people think the first couple are kinda of slow (altho most people enjoy it) but the first ten episodes are sooooo important to setting up the plot/background for the rest of the story to follow.

You know you're having withdrawal syndrome when you are watching any related content of eternal love on YouTube.…
yes what goo said is right!! I remember Mo Yuan mentioning that in the book/drama now haha
yeah no one knew at that time that YH had received the immortal essence of his father when he killed the beasts and stuff which is probably why his arm healed so fast as well

I don't think they mentioned this too much in the drama, but in the novel he is said to be an excellent swordsman. So I don't think him losing his arm/going to the mortal world would have affected his swordsman skills?

Guys, Three Lives Three Worlds is just a cleverly disguised Return of the Condor Heroes. I don't recommend…
I don't think it matters LOL, a lot of stories are similar to other stories, there's only so many stories we can create in this world

what makes each story special is the actors/actresses who play these characters and breathe life into their characters.

A lot of people who watch Eternal Love haven't seen the Condor Heroes series, so they wouldn't know and they wouldn't care and lots of people like EL not just for the story but a lot more for the actors/actresses that acted in the drama

there are so many stories that draw inspiration from others, and if we were to nitpick about all these stories copying from other stories, then this world of stories would be a complete mess lol

wow... I love chinese historical dramas... :) can't go back in korean drama right now. coz there's so…
you are so right!! it seems that the ships are all very similar (for ex the couple from weightlifting fairy and the strong woman one seems very similar LOL) and I feel like the acting isn't very diversified in korea, like everyone has overrexaggerated emotions and facial expressions which makes for weird acting imo LOL, but that might be because the dramas are similar to each other so the actors will naturally act similar.

I do however think that modern cdramas are a bit more lacking, because if you look at the really popular cdramas, a great majority of them are historical LOL. Like if you look at the list of dramas that passed 10 billion views online, the only modern cdramas on the list are Ode to Joy (I really liked this one), To Be a Better Man, Love O2O, and My Sunshine while the other 15 dramas on the list are all historical LOL

It's sad that a lot of international fans found Age of Youth better than Ode to Joy and thought OTJ copied AOY when in fact OTJ aired earlier AND the OTJ novels were written years before. They have similar premises, but OTJ has 5 different woman of different ages whereas all the women from AOY are university students. I personally believe OTJ is much more realistic (probs because I'm Chinese and a lot of their lives/ideas/beliefs are very relatable) and I read the novels which were extremely well-written and thought out.

wow this is a long comment lol but I def feel that overall cdramas and cnovels are much more worth my time XD

....is this what they call an idol drama?
I think because the novels are sooooo popular, they decide to gamble and make the drama version because they know that a large amount of the readers will check out the drama and some people will still stick with the drama even if it isn't adapted that well simply because they love the story/characters (I think that was the case with Noble Aspirations) But yes, the novel is from the main guy character's POV.

I'd say that this drama is doing fairly well since when you go on Baidu and search it up, it's 2nd on the most searched dramas each day (since In the Name of the People is crazy popular right now in mainland China) I could be wrong lol

I totally understand being picky over dramas ahaha because time constraints!! I pretty much always lean towards novels/dramas with a female protagonist (except maybe Nirvana in Fire and Noble Aspirations) so I don't think I will be starting FotD unless people say this drama gets a lot better LOL

who is luhan?
He used to be a part of a crazy popular kpop group called EXO, but he left the group in October 2014. EXO is one of the most popular kpop groups in China, so naturally Luhan's popularity was pretty high considering he was one of the most popular EXO members. After leaving EXO, he did pretty well on his own in China with movies like The Witness (with Yang Mi) and being a permanent cast member on Running Man. I'd say he's more of a singer rather than an actor.

My friend read the books and he says the books are really really good and that the drama isn't as good haha. I also heard that the supporting cast is better at acting than the main cast?? like that's kinda sad LOL

Q for those who expressed dissatisfaction with the male lead looking too young and consider droping it or not…
I'm not sure, but I don't think the story is supposed to be a childish story? My friend says the books are extremely well written and that the novel actually has a lot of male fans and that Luhan doesn't necessarily fit what they imagined for the main character. However, I think adding Luhan was supposed to target the female audience (since he has a lot of young fans)???
but I do believe that this drama is targeted at a younger audience since most of the actors have barely acted before and are all pretty much new faces and the fact that Luhan is a popular idol in china, so it's definitely targeted at a younger audience.
also I've heard that the supporting actors are better at acting than the leads LOL

....is this what they call an idol drama?
yes I believe so! all the actors are relatively new, although I did see Janice Wu in 'My Sunshine' in 2015, but most of them don't have much acting experience. I heard Gulinazha was pretty bad in condor heroes or smth not sure

Yawn. I'm not a fast forward person. I usually watch the episodes as the production team wanted me to watch,…
everyone has different tastes haha so it's okay!
hm I also thought DH/FJ was annoying until they explained everything in episode 52 which really made me support them after that, but I guess you won't be watching that part :((

WOW. Except for the draggy romance between Feng Jiu and Dong Hua, all else were GREAT! Their acting is really…
Ending was great! But I think a lot of people wanted to see the wedding and YH/BQ having their second child, but that stuff doesn't happen until in the pillow books I think and since the production company were unable to obtain the copyrights to the pillow books, they couldn't put that part in. But I guess we can always leave everything up to our imagination :D

totally agree! I feel that a lot of kdramas are repetitive, which is why I almost exclusively watch Chinese dramas now (but also the fact that I am very fluent in Chinese so it makes watching cdramas more interesting and relatable and the fact that I don't have to consistently fear that something was lost in translation)
although I quite liked Descendants of the Sun lol
in my opinion, chinese historical dramas are much better than korean historical dramas but modern kdramas are slightly better than modern cdramas

are you disappointed in the ending because there was no wedding/second child shown??? hehe because other than that, I thought the ending was pretty good :D
I don't think they were able to show an ending+extra kids because I think those take place in the pillow book that they didn't get copyrights to

I hope to be wrong, but I am doubting Yang Yang as the choice for that role. He can be incredibly beautiful as…
I completely agree, the actors for the movie have big shoes to fill after the spectacular job that Yang Mi and Mark Chao did. the chemistry/storytelling may not be as great as the drama due to time constraints and the acting may not be as good as well (who knows, we'll see) but at least the CGI/effects/aesthetic look pretty good for the movie haha
