From the looks of the preview we are very quickly back to the fluffy romance type thing.

Episode 23,24,25 preview has the SML confess, it's clear the bloke has no chance and the FL clearly has no interest. I mean the girl talks to a camera as SML thinks he has a chance.
ML flirts constantly which is funny as FL almost caves in every time.
And finally episode 25 preview she's kisses him.

The time they're spending with the FL mother will be precious as she is dying🥲 and the ML is bringing them all closer to one another which is wholesome but heartbreaking at the same time.

Even though the ML flirting is cringey it's very fun to watch as it's the first time he has been able to flirt with true emotions.
