oh my god... that feeling when you thought Ep 4 would focus on Tanaka Hassaku following the husbands order, but it actually focused on Kagome instead and you kept wondering why, why, why? but then it all made sense with the plot twist at the end of the episode asdfghjsjdk. fuckk. that was mind blowing. I still have 6 episodes left to go, how do i even prepare for this.
Sakamoto Yuji is getting more and more masterful as time goes by, it's kind of scary.
these 2 girls also played highschool girls (very minor roles tho) in Farewell Song (2019) by the same director, and they sung a bit in that movie too. I wonder if this is some kind of cross-over/spin-off?
This movie is called Light (Hikari) because it's dark as fuckkk. seriously, like all the most horrible and triggering tags should be applied for this one: child abuse, murder, rape, obsession, adultery, family disfunction, natural disaster, blackmail and I can still go on.
The way it was shot was beautiful yet kind of haunting somehow, especially that scene where the 3 of them were on the shrine's staircase on that island. And with the bizarre music, sometimes it just creeped tf outta me. The plot and the characters were all kind of fucked up and I find the most twisted thing of all was that he actually named his daughter "Tsubaki", the name of the flower on that island and how it was hinted again and again that she (the daughter) will be like one of them - the people from that island.
Gotta give it to the cast though, all 4 of them did amazing, especially Eita and Arata, probably the best performance I've seen from Eita so far. And Arata was sometimes scary af in this one ðŸ˜
The movie itself is not bad but it's not for everyone, definitely not for the faint of heart. edit: oh damn i just realized this is from the same director with Mother (2020). lorrrd lol so that's why it was so disturbing.
GOD YES. The way they switched back to their dialect as they spoke, how Daiki berated her and Rio tried to talk…
Dang, I agree there's a high chance that informant kid could be Yu as well, he seemed sus lol but I'm not sure if Yu's disease would make him suitable for a job like that though 🤔
And yesss, I was frustrated and screaming too when she told Yu she deleted that video xD but then i tried to calm myself down thinking "alright fine, as long as the kid still has the phone, the video can still be restored with modern technology" and then 2 mins later she said Yu went missing 5 years later, i was like "oh fuck nooooo" lmao.
I actually rarely hop on any ongoing drama but this season I just couldn't resist this one. I'm trying my best to keep up with it so yeah I guess I'll see you around for the weeks to come xD
GOD YES. The way they switched back to their dialect as they spoke, how Daiki berated her and Rio tried to talk…
Oops sorry, my mistake, I forgot his name 😅 I just edited my comment. I wanted to say Yu might also be the culprit for the latest case and Rio will take the charge to protect him. But yeah there's also the possibility that the culprit was Rio for the same reason. Either way, it's gonna be wild once Daiki and Kase learn the truth. I can't wait to see their reactions haha
And yess, as of now there's no evidence to prove that Rio was being harassed by Kosuke so if the truth comes to light, her and Yu will be at disadvantage. I feel like Kase will definitely scarify his career or even himself to protect Rio. Ah that would be painful to watch T__T
You're welcome haha it's the same for me. To think we're only at Ep2 and there's still a long way ahead... god it's gonna be a crazy ride haha
GOD YES. The way they switched back to their dialect as they spoke, how Daiki berated her and Rio tried to talk…
i have a feeling the culprit will be Yu - Rio's little brother and Rio will do anything to protect him. but at the same time i hope that's not the case because that would be too depressing :(( And right now i already feel bad for Kase third-wheeling the main couple because i'm sure Kase would do anything to protect Rio too :(
Hello. Are you the owner of these subs? If you are, thank you for your work. Is there any news on the subs for…
Ooooh so you are the one behind the fansubs working on Saiai? I'm watching that too xD no wonder the font style looks familiar haha. it's ok, i understand your priorities. take all the time you need. I've had your Iki wo Hisomete folder bookmarked for a couple of weeks now and been checking it every few days. As long as you're still working on it, I don't mind waiting.
I think it's a beautiful movie, cinematography wise and plot wise, might be a bit too deep for those that expect…
I was so surprised when I heard his answer to the Witch, didn't expect it to turn philosophical that quick lol. but it all tied together and made sense. And then I cried thinking about what kind of harsh reality Nanakusa and Manabe had to face that they had to discard their old selves like that. And how Nanakusa had always been in pain seeing the optimistic Manabe, his first love, winded up on that island after reunited with him in real life. Ah it must have been so painful for both them.
But when they both chose to stay on the island in the end, I'm not sure about it though, it seemed like a happy ending but it's actually not? does this mean in real life they have grown apart? Nanakusa has lost his pessimistic yet kind self? Manabe will never be a 100% idealist always moving forward again? That's just so depressing to think about T_T And I can't help but wonder how many of them have already found the answer but still choose to stay (apart from Nanakusa, there are 3 others i think).
I think it's a beautiful movie, cinematography wise and plot wise, might be a bit too deep for those that expect to see a highschool romance movie (which, i may warn you, it is not). It's true that the last 30 mins plays an important part in the movie but i don't think the rest of it was meaningless at all. All events happened in order for you to learn about the characters further, it will help you understand more what will unfolds in the last chapter.
I really like the idea of it, i'm not sure if it's original, it might have been done before on films, but it doesn't matter. The idea itself makes me think a lot about all the possibilities that could happen if this movie were true. And it makes me kinda sad thinking about it. Good movie. 8/10
GOD YES. The way they switched back to their dialect as they spoke, how Daiki berated her and Rio tried to talk…
my Japanese listening skill is not good enough so i can't tell the difference in their dialects (but thank you for pointing that out! wow). it just felt like they dropped all their thorns and were soft at each other for a moment. but yeah, too bad the thorns grew back real quick lol
that scene in Ep 2 where Rio was trying to run from a stalker and got pulled to an alley by Daiki. It was like they both switched back to their old selves, so naturally and then the theme song started playing T__T that scene was just so good, i love it.
man, Sakurai Yuki is so underrated. Her chemistry with Takahashi Issei here was amazing. their moments were the core purity of the whole madness. I liked the movie, I think the director did a very good job. it's really impressive for a directorial debut movie at such a young age (the director was 26 at the time?!). They have the same cinematographer with Helter Skelter, so that explains a lot. I don't really like their song choice though, maybe it's just me not liking that genre of music lol And the wigs they put on Yuki were awful.
Also I have 2 questions: - who was Narita Ryo in this movie? I know it says here that he's Joe but i don't recall seeing any guy named Joe. Was he the bartender at the beginning of the movie? That guy was wearing a mask so I'm not sure. Ryo was one of the reasons I watched this movie so please, I need to know who he was.
- can anyone explain why is the gun fighting scene at the end so identical with the police station scene from Birds of Prey (2020)? I know this is quite unrelated but I can't help wondering about this. I read somewhere that BoP used color bombs (?) as blood because that's how Harley sees it with mental illness and apparently it was the same intention in this movie as well? is this a reference to another movie that I missed or this movie really "did it first"? it's so weird @@
Weird movie. Seemed low budget. Really good music though. At first I thought this must be one of those movies they made to promote the music band but then I did some research and learned about Moosic Lab. Interesting hmm. Too bad none of the cast have their own pages on MDL, I liked the girl who played Nacchan, she looks kinda familiar.
For anyone wonders if this is LGBT+ related or not, well, it's really confusing but I can confirm that it's not LGBT+.
Thank you, Sakamoto Yuji.
