this is one of the dramas I'd definitely watch raws and be willing to sub if my Japanese is good enough. sadly my Japanese studying is going nowhere lol Someone, please, sub it!! I can do the timing if you need help with it.
is there really a man like Gamon in this universe? I wish I could say yes to that question. Yoshine Kyoko really did a spectacular performance here, the pain from her eyes just went straight to your heart. and I wish all the Kannas in this world will find their own true happiness someday, just like how Yuki did.
Good movie. I'd love to see a remake as an episodic drama some day. The entire supporting cast was too amazing that the 2 leads were overshadowed a bit. Anyone else here loves how they decorated the picture frames on the wall and the customers' outfits according to the seasons everytime they're time-traveling? I paused the movie so many times just to take a good look at those details lol
lol the rating went from 6.5 to 6.9 after 2 years. good job everyone, keep it going. for those who like realistic movies like this, i recommend checking out the director's filmography, especially the ones from 2016 - present.
Naga-kun, Saki-chan was no god. She was your pears, so sweet so pure that you took one bite and left them out to dry. And your safest place is where the pears are, well, used to be.
I've read his bio here over and over many times and everytime I still can't help but feeling so thankful to his grandmother. Issei's grandma, thank you so much for not giving up on him.
Off to a very good start! I really liked the 1st epsiode, the plot doesn't seem predictable at all, can't wait to see what will happen next. Strong performance from Eguchi Noriko as expected. I loved the ramen scene and their goodbye after that, their acting was very cute and natural <3
One of the best Christmas romance movies i've seen. Deserved to be more popular. Good to know it's now available on Netflix and getting more attention. Also, that Tokyo Love Story (1991) parody was so hilarious lmao and they even changed the ending xD
oh. that was a very strong and impressive 1st episode. i hope they keep it up, it can get really addictive. the soundtrack is extremely beautiful, just from the first 2 minutes of the drama I knew right away it was by my favorite OST composer Masaru Yokoyama.
also this is quite random, i just started watching Yell (2020) recently, Mitsuishi Ken and Yakushimaru Hiroko was a married couple in that drama and now they're divorced in this one. Same goes with Nikaido Fumi and Matsui Rena being sisters in Yell and then enemies in Promise Cinderella. What is it with those coincidences between NHK and TBS anyway? lol
Is this drama about Unit 731? I just read the wiki page about this unit and i am horrified. this is definitely…
from what I understand from the movie, they washed it down a lot. the only crime they mentioned here was the plague and the Kwantung Army. they only showed a short and low quality footage of the lab and the ML tried to expose the truth to the world. though he did mention at some point that there was a really long video tape that showed much more horrible things but it was overseas so he had to travel to get it.
so I guess it's not much about Unit 731? It's more about the minority of Japanese that did what they thought was right at the time even if they had to go against their own country.
the way this movie was filmed made me feel like I was watching a live stage play (a lot of long shots, very few close-ups and echoing sounds) which was excellent. it worked out very well for the story. the last few minutes were very powerful, they almost had my heart broken at the end but thank god for the last 10secs!
Amazing performance from Aoi Yu, she keeps exceeding my expectation everytime I see her on screen. And Takahashi Issei, after this movie and Tengoku to Jigoku, I still can't get enough of him playing the mastermind roles, I want more of that from him please.
And I have to admit, Higashide's really good at playing hateful and detestable characters lol

Leo: So? What's wrong with being dumb?
Shima: No, I was wrong. And dumb.
me rewatching for the 3rd time: I love them so much asdfghjalksjk

What more can i say, honestly. You did it again, Yukisada Isao.
