TBH the end doesn't take away anything for me. As much as I, all of us, wanted a way better ending it's still one of the best I've seen. And yeah, I'm hoping they give us that special episode.

The first one is in ep 28 and the second ep 37 :). I think for the first you are almost there.

Yeah when I watch I don't see CXX or LLD in their scenes but Youqin and Yetan. They were so good with these two characters that they felt so real.

Alright for all my complaining about the light haha. I have to give him credit on the way the sword dance/fight scenes were filmed. Definitely some of my favorite shots of the whole drama. Not just aesthetically but emotionally too. Like in the first one I love the adding of the little constellations around them makes everything way more romantic. And the second one the mix of dark and light makes everything so much more passionate.

He wanted to be as artistic as Hollywood is in those scenes. He needs more training first XD

As disappointing as the ending was, the more I think about it. I think I can be okay with it. I wanted the sisters back physically and my couples reunited but the flower is here and it's only a matter of time til they return. At least this time the flower bloomed in less than 1,000 years which Suizi had said it took. The script writer was good enough to make this drama memorable despite some plot holes. TSL is tied as my #1 with Alchemy of Souls and I see it being hard from it dropping.

XD I understand. There are other decisions that he made that I can't help and question but it is what it is. At least in the end he left us with overall satisfaction.

For the most part he was really good at the other decisions that he made hence why TSL turned out to be so successful. Also, if it was his decision to make Youqin and Yetan's relationship as healthy as it was (not so in the novel) I'll give him all the credit. He's got to work on that aesthetic tho. Maybe reading all the complaints he'll finally get more training at it.

Speaking of directing decisions. I always wondered why he circles the camera around CXX and LLD for more than a minute in ep 10. When YT tells YQ that he must be the most stupidest, stubborn person that she has ever met. It took me out of the feel of that scene. Just another of his dumb moves as a director.

no problem. it's something you are passionate about and I completely agree. He probably thought he was being all poetic and meaningful with the light, but he ended up ruining the intimate scenes.

IKR. I also posted something like this yesterday :). If you've seen Alchemy of Souls, she's basically another Doctor lady. Both know that they have no chance. I mean both YQ and JU treat them like annoying nuisances, but they keep pestering at least the fairy gets hers. I didn't like the doctor's end on AoS.

Yes :). I guess because of the success of the drama Youku cared enough to reedit the lighting. Now if they would only give us that special episode. I'm losing hope tbh.

I'm watching it on their youtube channel so yes, it changed on there too.
