Another thing I liked about the ending is that unlike cliche typical endings, Fan Yue's sacrifice at the end wasn't really for the world or the mission of the Demon Lord but for Bai Shou and everything she loves. Everything he did, he did it for her. always.

I liked that although FY and BS were reincarnations that fell in love all over again because soulmates. Their love was theirs. It wasn't really influenced by the past just that they happened to look like their 60,000 past selves. like Fan Yue and Bai Shou's love was theirs so was XY and JY. It went untouched and unereased too.

she probably chose to do that one for a reason, but it gives me TTEOTM vibes. I don't know if I'll watch it.

They were the real angst. BS and FY went thru hell and back, but they got to be happy. I'll pretend that XY & JY reunited in the stars after he left FY's body.

I'm so grateful that the writers chose to write them this way. BL must have loved the script when she read it because it was probably refreshing for her to do a nontoxic love story. Her next one is back to toxic love.

exactly. They were both so desperately in love. They grew together not apart like a lot of couples tend to do in xianxia. I have a feeling they are going to be hard to top if ever.

I was so confused before but I get it now.

I'm going to be camping here for a while until I can let MM fully go. I'll say this it set a high standard for future Xianxia. Character wise, costume wise, chemistry wise (it's going to take me a long time to get over ARP & BL). Aesthetic wise, romance wise, sigh the romance, and ending wise.
A 'Shou and Fan Yue just set the bar really, really high can others beat it? hmm rn I doubt it.

I'm also glad that the whole Fan Yue reincarnation thing was cleared up. FY is JY reincarnated hence why he is his own person. He's still a vessel etc but not really JY in any form. The JY that saved BS and BX was just his scattered mind, aura.

this. I adore Fan Yue and Bai Shou, but both kept saying that they were NOT Jing Yuan and Xing Yue. As reincarnations and mantels they weren't still I wish they would have had something of JY and XY in them so those two could have been happy too.

The only thing I wish we could have seen was Xing Yue and Jing Yuan get their happy ending too. My poor tortured babies. They never had a moment of peace. And honestly, they suffered way more than Bai Shou and Fan Yue did in the end. I know we saw those two stars come together, when FY tells BS that XY & JY will find each other again. But I wanted more for them. I guess we're meant to see FY and BS happy ending as Xing Yue and Jing Yuan's too. Even though it was established that those 4 were entirely separate beings.

Without spoiling too much, he becomes this sacrificial lamb more than once. I was like enough Fan Yue; you're really putting Bai Shou thru this again????? he does it to save the world and the woman he loves but I wanted to smack him esp in ep 40. I was glad BS was mad at him in the last scene.
