In one of the music videos/trailers I saw it turns out it was actually a past life of Chong Zhao who killed Goddess Xing Yue (Yue Mi). I think part of the intro that spoils the past and her "killing" Jing Yuan is Xing Yue's sacrifice to protect Jing Juan (Tian Qi) instead of her taking the arrow for him like in ALP. She betrays him to keep him alive and she dies. Chong Zhao reincarnated to pester them in this lifetime too, sigh.

He's definitely going to remember his past after he "dies." I'm guessing Bai Shou will too but not sure how she will. Unless those are all flash backs to their lives as Gods.

From seeing him as a ruthless, heartless killer. To seeing who he really is. I love their development. Also love that even though they are going thru angst they are still working as a team. I'm glad he told her the truth about why he wants the water stone. I expected her to be angry, but she wasn't. she understood and still wanted to protect him. They sure have come a long way.
Chong Zhao definitely knows 10000000% percent that she loves Fan Yue now. She's more than told him that twice. But he's still going to "protect" and control her even though she's told him ten thousand times that she doesn't want his help? (screams). What more does he want? He only gets his heart broken in the end. Look I get it he loves her, blah, blah. blah. But it's time to let go dude. I hate when the writers do this to the 2nd male lead. Why not just have them grow tf ep and move on? BTW is it me or did they give more clues on who Fu Ling really is? If she is Bai Xi then she was put under a powerful spell that wiped all her memories and made her hate all humans (her family mostly). Still, I won't forget all the evil she's done. If this is what the writers are going for then they better give me a good, logical story for her "redemption". If not I'm going to be disappointed.

Exactly he needs to be on his own and reflect on his own feelings etc. it’s just sad that Bai Shou practically declared her love for someone else in front of everyone in the tomb. Seeing him still pestering her in the previews annoys me so much. He needs to value himself and find the love he deserves somewhere else.

I love his acting as FY. He's so good. I admit that even though I liked him since the beginning I felt like he struggled a little with all the emotions he needed for his character. But now I'm super impressed. Looking back I see why he played Fan Yue so expressionless in the beginning. It was all a front Yue put up in front of others. That's why it seemed a bit forced.

Yes. I mean it's not his fault that he fell in love with someone who never loved him that way. But at the same time learn from mistakes and let go. It's better that way.
I can feel sorry at times, for Chong Zhao. Because he doesn't deserve to be used by either the Eternals or the other Demon sects or having a psycho for a future girlfriend. But then he gets all possessive and controlling over Bai Shou and all that sympathy goes out the window.
