WTF with Changge and Jiang-er.????!!!! %***&&XX [censored swearing]The selfish bimbo just went ahead and poisoned…
I love that too, just that it gives a lot of heartache because I love this pair so much. Changge has worked so hard for his whole life, and is the favorite disciple to take over from his shifu from the beginning episodes. When his shifu passes the baton to Shen Manqing, I had an ill feeling. As much as I don't want him to die, I know he can't take it when Jiang-er inevitably dies. It's beautiful that they die together, just very sad. But his death fulfills the words he says to Jiang-er earlier - 'she shen qu yi'.

I’m going to have to offer a differing opinion here. I’ve listed some of the biggest problems I’ve had with…
That's so true. Viewers tend to prefer HE and rate a drama low otherwise despite it's generally a good drama.

Actually I found all the deaths gratuitous. In the whole drama, I only cried when Ai di died.
Yeah, I guess his death is necessary. It's just that dude has lived in the cave for eons, only to be freed to die. It's so ironic. I just have a feeling like, killing a tortoise that has lived 300 years :(

Don't really see where you are coming from... may I ask which episodes/incidents specifically make you laugh when…
Hahaha! But I love The Song of Glory. Just the actor ... Nonetheless, the character he plays there is quite charming :D

Talking about Qin Hao in The Song of Glory, I still can't wipe his image off the Zhang Dong Sheng character (The Bad Kids) :(

Obviously, the elephant in the room is Qing Ci magically being cured off screen when the producers have been screaming…
I think the killing part is to try to make Zhu Yan redeeming himself by saving them. It's dumb but I guess that's what they're trying to do, because the 'good' Zhu Yan would not let anyone hurt Yun Luo. Just that, the way they did it leaves a bitter taste. There are hundreds of ways they could have concluded the story and they chose the dumbest one :(

Yeah, so true. I don't have a good impression of the Emperor from the beginning either. But I also keep thinking, how he could have done differently. Weining Hou is holding him like a puppet. He has inserted his own men in every possible high position. Any persons who go against him would have been slandered and murdered, just like Qingci's father. Whatever the Emperor wants to do, he's checked. I really don't know what else he could have done except what he does in the story - by soliciting outside help secretly. By the time of Weining Hou's death, those ministers are still his men. Rightfully, the Emperor is still weary of them. He did order to keep Qingci for a different reason - to get him fixed from his injury, not arrest.

Well, his ministers were pressing him to do so, "Cannot let him leave", they said. They had no idea of the ins and outs of things, but to them, faking an emperor was the greatest crime punishable by death. But we can also see that the Emperor didn't pursue the matter further, otherwise we wouldn't have had a mini Yun Luo.

Jiang-er drank the wine herself. Once Changge realized it was poisonous and blood was filling her mouth, he asked to drink it too. She didn't force it on him. He wanted to die together with Jiang-er as he could see that's the only way to save the others.

Where did you watch the preview?
".... they were invading territories left and right... " - that's not a fair statement.

I totally agree with you.. He has a beautiful smile and soooo handsome!!
You know what, I only found him so handsome after Under The Power. Before that, I couldn't stand his sour face. I skipped all his dramas. Only now, I start digging them back and watch.

This man looks great in costume. He knows how to make his presence while walking. It happens in all his dramas!…
Hands on the waist - I suspect it's done on purpose as perhaps it's one of the traits of the character.

I also would have loved to see that the Emperor worth saving, instead I get a bitter taste that he seemed like an ungrateful SOB. Having said that, I can understand where he was coming from - faking an emperor is a death sentence.

Like you, I don't mind a sad ending had it been done right. I would have preferred Qingci dying in Yun Luo's arms, slowly wasting away. That would have been so heart-wrenching. Instead we get mini versions of Yun Luo and Qingci (we can see these little kids are going to fall in love and start the journey all over again). It reminds me of the messy ending of The Legends.

In the narratives, Wen Si Yuan was fixed by Qingci's crying baby disciple. The narratives were from the horse's mouth.

I truly would have loved a Zhu Yan final duel with the evil Marquis, redeeming his killings of the innocence, so that he (Zhu Yan) can be listed among the 'da xia' status. Instead, he died a hedgehog :(

WTF with Changge and Jiang-er.????!!!! %***&&XX [censored swearing]The selfish bimbo just went ahead and poisoned…
I think Jiang-er did what she did was to save the others who were attempting to rescue Changge. She knew Zhu Yan was unbeatable and didn't want them to die before they completed their mission in helping Qingci. Zhu Yan may not kill Changge and Yun Luo but he wouldn't hesitate to kill others. Earlier, Changge had also mentioned about sacrificing oneself and was wondering if he had the courage to do it himself. Jiang-Er helped him in fulfilling that wish. As much as I wish Changge hadn't died - he is one of the most black and white person - I can see where it's coming from -- they want to make him a legend.

I've watched the final ep and honestly to me it does NOT look bad, and I'm actually happy with it. I get that…
As many flaws as there maybe in terms of logic, but if I view it from the perspective of wuxia's most prized virtue - sacrificing oneself for justice for all - then I can explain a lot of the actions and decisions the characters have made. It may not deserve what I have awarded, a 10, and I admit I did it out of my own emotional ride while watching the show. As I'm back to normal and view it more objectively, I may downgrade it later.

Contrary to you, Jiang-Er is my favorite character - her words are wise and soothing despite she doesn't do much :)

Yeah, all the unnecessary deaths. For that matter, the death of Sang Wan under the hand of his sworn brother, and the death of Mu Siu who has lived in the cave forever surviving eating ants. WTF!

The ending doesn't make you cry or anything, just feels 'loose', typical Chinese drama endings.
Wen Si Yuan becomes a house husband; he marries into Zheng Yang Gong. LOL!
