Hmm! I had thought they would combat the bad guys hand in hand. Apparently not. They are being separated. I hope this doesn't mean they have very little screen time together, and instead most of the time back to thinking of each other, those "talk and reflect" scenes again. :(

Isn't that how the world has been revolving? The evils always preach righteousness and brandish everyone else. It appears in religions, in politics (look at the USA) and in common folks like us. Many of these wuxia stories are like satires. At one time, the Chinese government even wanted to ban them because there's a lot of political undertone in those dramas.

When Tou was 17 and Feng Zi was 10, Tou was given some wine laced with drug. He was unconscious and slept on Feng Zi's bed with her. Then, her father was led to the room and discovered him. Everyone assumed that he raped her (she was underage), and to make things worse, she didn't clarify things and let it stand that he did sleep her. This led to Tou being kicked out of the Sect, his "gong" destroyed. He was also poisoned, not by Feng Zi's father but by Feng Zi's shifu who was a mole. The whole thing was a set up to frame Tou to destroy him.

5 years later when Tou met Chong Xue Zhi, he was reluctant to reveal the past because he felt Feng Zi's honor was at stack. However, Chong Xue Zhi took it the wrong way as she thought he had an indecent past. Even later she knew it wasn't what it looked, he's refusal to tell her the truth disappointed her, hence the "misunderstanding" we have here.

"...pale-faced guys, who look less and less Asian and more and more European..." - I say they look like mannequins - really creepy.

You're so right about the female characters. I really hate how they portray females like that - all light-headed and fall easily into the chests of the men, despite many (the girls) are supposed to be good in fighting too. They (the girls) can be mean and nasty to everyone, but when it comes to their men, they become submissive (ugh!) Really annoying stereotype. Why can't they make the girls to have more firm legs? And let the girls say, "My way or go fly kite!"

I love the "Lu Zhao Yao" badass character (The Legends) in the beginning but towards the end, they have to "redeem" the character by making her mushy. Really hated that. Yes, as viewers, we should demand better female characterization than these dumb stereotyping ones.

Same! Those shoes look so heavy and bulky.

Let me sum it up for you:

Boy meets girl, girl falls in love, boy doesn't want any relation because of his treatment by his own family. Girl is disappointed. Goes into seclusion and learns her father's wushu. Then talk and reflect by girl. Talk and reflect by boy. More talk and reflect by girl. More talk and reflect by boy. Second boy also loves girl. Second girl also wants boy. Misunderstanding between boy and girl over second girl. Then stop. This is episode 24.

Hope it's not confusing but that's how I feel about this drama so far. Maybe someone else can write a more beautiful story for you. :)

I've watched the 2008 version of the Little Nyonya. It's good. Guess I will watch the new one again. I like Xiao Yan. Thanks for the suggestions!

For real? I come to this page almost every day to read comments to decide whether I want to start this series or not because it's such a long one. But most of the comments are frustration. So, guess I better look for something else. Nothing interesting out there right now. Any suggestions?

Hahaha. Yes, Luo Yunxi is indeed rather small compared to other actors; he's very skinny and not that tall. It's amazing how they (the camera and director etc) make him look so tall and stately.

Oh yes, Cheng Qian Qian did that but they're already husband and wife, so not considered sexual harassment XD. Xiao Song did that on Ran Yan in Miss Truth and she enjoyed it. I know what you mean by losing your mind - I myself am confused by all the series I'm watching and have watched. Sometimes immediately after a drama ends, I don't even recall how it ends :(

Quite so. I wonder the twitch on Mu Yuan face as he speaks is acting or that's how the actor speaks, because it does give him that devious feel. If it's acting, he scores 100%.

They almost got it resolved in episode 24 but they got interrupted. Don't pull your heart out yet. They're going to be fine. Tou has his inner power back and his girl is waiting. :)
