I can understand what the director is trying to do here: he wants us to understand that Shangguan Tou and Chong Xue Zhi are a real couple. They love each other so much that even without being together physically, their hearts are together. Fine. I get it. The problem is, we've already known that the two are OTP after the first 2 episodes. The screenwriter & director don't have to keep telling us as if we're 1st graders (no intention to humiliate 1st graders); they are not respecting the intelligence of the viewers. For the 30 episodes so far, Shangguan Tou has told 2nd daddy he loves Chong Xue Zhi, and 2nd daddy has repeated the same words back to Shangguan Tou. This is done multiple times to and fro. Then Shangguan Tou also has told his sister he loves Chong Xu Zhi, and his sister repeats the same words back to him, yeah, multiple times. Then he tells all his friends he loves Chong Xu Zhi, and they all repeat the same words back to him, multiple times. Sigh. Hello, Director Ho, how many more times do you want to repeat these sames words to us to brainwash us before you move the story along? Oil is coming out from my ears if I continue to listen to these sames words again.
Yea the female leads are great in this drama. Hopefully our main ML gets a power up though. He's good as he is…
I don't mind him being status quo because he has a brilliant brain and a life saving skill. These are more than enough to make him a perfect character. He doesn't die even if he doesn't know how to fight because he is very quick witted and knows how to save himself. Furthermore, someone will always protect him all the time.
Not bad at all... some gigantic plot holes... like why reacquiring a defense map still matters after the enemy…
I guess they just need something that is so important that one can give up one's life to re-acquire it, whatever it maybe. In this case the map :) How far in are you now?
A lot of good actors cannot realize their potential if the director is mediocre. As many times as I roll my eyes,…
Let talk over at Love in Between. Currently, not many people are watching it because I guess they're waiting for subs. But I need some one to talk to and discuss. Watching alone is no fun :)
I just wonder did they who give bad comment, really watching every bit of episodes without skipping it? Because…
Yeah, I watch every nano second of the series, never skip a beat. Though as much as I love romance stories, I think the director is over stretching it a bit to make up the 48 episodes. The whole story becomes going round and round and round, with talks and more talks, and no results. I'm sure the gist of the story is beautiful, and I love the 2 main leads too. It's just the composition of the story, among other things, that is not right for me, and perhaps also for many viewers.
I believe my criticism is constructive and I'm in no way trying to offend any fans. So please don't take it to heart.
How boring can a drama be???This (like way too many others filmed over the bygone two or three years) is so static,…
A lot of good actors cannot realize their potential if the director is mediocre. As many times as I roll my eyes, I'm still trying to maintain my patience because I love watching a powerful couple combating their adversary hand in hand. I'm still waiting for that moment, holding my breath (so that I don't lash out and drop the series). I hope I don't have to hold it for too long.
BTW, thank you for your recommendation on Love in Between. It's an awesome drama that all wuxia fans should be watching. Too bad it's not been officially English subbed yet.
Watched all the aired episodes (12) in 2 days. My verdict - super good, genuine wuxia drama. Intriguing storyline, beautiful fighting scenes, amazing acting and authentic makeup, good OST, great camerawork, wonderful romance, and sweet bromance. Most of all, no annoying high pitched voice girls, at least not yet. Has all the virtues in a wuxia story. Fabulous female characters - strong, determined, fearless and upstanding.
The dialogues are among the strength of this drama in my opinion though it could be a bit boring and tiring when…
I don't mind about the dialogues if they happen and get over with. But, the dialogues keep coming back and they keep saying the same thing over and over again, yawn!
I feel like for this drama they only focus on the ML and FL to a point where the side characters all just feel…
Exactly! I don't even know the purpose of introducing these characters in the first place. They are killed off too soon before they even serve any purpose. Shaking my head.

A MUST-WATCH.
