I can't deal with the jumping flying thing they do. Lmao
I try to be a spectator but can't help to get into the fray. I don't see why it is such a big deal to argue over things like this, "wirefu", seriously? I love watching flying people, but I'm the only one in my family who does. All the others are telling me it's too fake and none watching any wuxia dramas. I don't see why we need to tell someone to enjoy watching something because we enjoy it ourselves. Likewise I don't like watching all those kungfu fighting and gun fighting dramas which my family enjoys. I tell them I can't watch men fight and kill just for the sake of it, and I find it stupid. They don't give a qualm about me. That's it. Why argue over nothing?
I always looking for trending drama on front page of mdl but it is unbelieveable that the untamed always stay…
That's right. The comments for dramas with highest viewership (in MDL) don't even come near to the amount of comments we have here. In actual fact, these comments may even help The Untamed in the search engines, if you know what I mean.
One of the excuses I used to rewatch a drama is that watching different versions of translations gives me some…
So, for each Cdrama, we should have 3 versions to select: Click A for Newbies Click B for Intermediates Click C for Experts or before getting into a drama, the screen should prompt these questions: Are you a newbie in Cdrama? If yes, proceed, else retreat because you're going to hate the translation. Go to next question. Are you an intermediate in Cdrama? if yes, proceed, else retreat because you may get frustrated with the translation. Go to next question. Are you an expert in Cdrama? If yes, proceed, else retreat because you may get confused. Go back to question 1. Hahahahahahaha! Just pulling your leg.
Can you deal with Batman, Spiderman or all those Marvel heroes? Well, apply that concept here, perhaps you can…
Yeah, I understand what you're saying. I have a hard time convincing my own family to give it a go. They give me the same reasons you're saying here - too fake. For exactly the same reason, they've never watched any Chinese dramas. Nonetheless, glad you enjoy the story. Have a wonderful day/night!
I saw some of these subtitles for other dramas. With all due respect, some really make me laugh so hard. I understand…
For other dramas, we don't care so much about the translations as long as we know roughly what is going on. Not so for this drama -everything is so subtle, every move, every glance, every body language. Hence bad translation really destroys everything.
One of the excuses I used to rewatch a drama is that watching different versions of translations gives me some…
Yep, when Wei Ying calls shije, they translate it into Yanli. That's so annoying, because "shije" gives a warm, close and respectful feeling, and calling "Yanli" is like calling another person. Some of these Chinese terms are very difficult to translate into other languages. In this case, we all know shije means an older sister (or someone who has been in the learning environment longer) who has no blood relationship. I saw some translation says something like "older school sister" which may sound funny.
Chinese people treat everyone like one of their family members. So you'd see they address a stranger uncle or auntie, brother or sister. If these were translated, it may give the viewers a wrong assumption that these people are related. On the other hand, if they maintain the words da ge or shije, many viewers may not understand the meanings. So, either way, it's kind of hard.
I saw some of these subtitles for other dramas. With all due respect, some really make me laugh so hard. I understand your frustrations when reading these subtitles. Yes, many don't convey the exact meaning and the tone. Sometimes, when someone says something in a repentant manner, but after the translation, the words sound defiant, therefore, giving the viewers totally different experience towards the characters. Like what you correctly pointed out, "What am I to you" and "What do you take me for" are totally different in every sense.
WYB Dance videos are drugs, not vitamins. They are dangerous and addictive. You should put a warning label on…
He's so HOT! Such a badass! So different from Lan Zhan and yet he could portray him (LZ) so perfectly. Amazing boy. Yep, he's still a boy. :D Just love this boy.
Happy ending but get prepared for like 5 kiss scenes for the final ep. I also thought they would have a kid but…
Yes, this is the only Chinese drama that I've come across with so many hot kissing scenes. Amazing! They don't seem to have enough of each other! These two have to become a couple after this drama.:D

Warning for new viewers:
Watch all the dramas you want to watch first before starting this one, or else you may run into the same syndrome as we are suffering here. :D
