I wonder who has watched:1. The Living Dead2. Jade DynastyAnd what are your verdicts?
Well, I like XZ's portrayal of Zhang Xiao Fan in Jade Dynasty better than Li Yi Feng's. But I feel the overall thing is too rushed and not enough character development especially for Bi Yao (hardly get to see her at all). Also there's no development of them falling in love either. The whole movie seems to be taken over by fighting scenes created in CGI. Despite I love movies with humors, I find this one too cartoonish to my liking.
As for Living Dead, they've lost the celestial feeling that they have in The Untamed. It makes me feel like watching just another movie, not really related to The Untamed despite they teased us by partially showing WWX and Gusu's Cloud Recesses. On top of that, it feels like it is getting a piggyback ride off The Untamed, though we have also hoped to see The Untamed revisit.
Cute Yibo lost his way becoz of XiaoZhan??? xD xD xDOmg... i cant stop smiling ^_______^https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3V2djkcz-U
Hahaha, apparently he was watching XZ when XZ was coming on the stage, and didn't notice his team had retreated. When he finally realized he had to go, he couldn't find his way. Such an adorable moment. Did you see the look on his face?
My ideas about the different character relationships change too each time I watch. Although, on my first watch…
So I watch this video, sigh, no wonder I keep seeing cute stuff between them, not my imagination, it's all the body language. https://youtu.be/ExG0N-iveAM
Actually, I like their comments, given that they may never have watched any Chinese historical dramas, let alone xianxia dramas. The trailer is of course confusing for someone who doesn't know what is going on - why the two guys were good friends and then started fighting, why they all in white robes, etc. But I can tell it stirs up their interest and the dude even gave 300/100 rating compared to American dramas, that's a super nice compliment.

Aren't they gorgeous? It is pretty obvious that XZ tries to keep a reasonable distance from YB but YB comes on pretty hard because he is the carefree one. XZ is always very careful with what he says in interviews and in public, every word and every sentence are thought out properly. But with YB, he simply says anything that comes to mind, curt and matter-of-factly which I find super cute and love. He's like one of the kids in an open society.

I know right? The frenzy is just so incredible. I would like to think of myself as a level headed person most of the time, but with these two, my god, I feel like a crazy teenager. Not that I want to date any one of them, but I love to see them together, playing, laughing, bantering, the sort. They just make me smile. And they are so beautiful!

Right! That's the feelings I have with Wang Yibo, the badass type of attitude which I love, if it doesn't come to my own family members XD (that would have been a headache). Come to think of it, yes, you're quite right about the kpop groups. They are also very popular among the youngsters in the USA and I can see many similar behavior among the kids as those pop stars. No wonder a lot of very good looking boys (especially Asian) rather hang out with other boys than with girls (by boys, I mean Wang Yibo's age). :D

IKR. I was so naive on my first watch. I thought it was only soulmate kind of relationship. The more I watch, the more I find the overwhelming love from Lan Zhan towards Wei Ying, just that he expresses it so ever subtly, that careless as I'm, didn't think much of such hints in the beginning. Now, not only I know Lan Zhan's passionate love, I even have fantasies about the two actors, which obviously are untrue. Just that, my eyes and feelings are playing tricks with me, making me see things I want to see, like how they smile to each other during interviews or on stage etc. So far, I'm not into the bed scenes yet but can't guarantee after my 10th re-watch. XD.
It's very obvious that Xiao Zhan tries to stay clear of being seen as a couple with Wang Yibo. But not so with Wang Yibo - he couldn't care less how people want to think. Somehow, at times, I feel that he purposely stirs up something with Xiao Zhan to make the crowd go crazy.
The first time I watched this drama, I felt Lan Zhan liked Wei Ying because they shared the same idealogy. The second time, I felt Lan Zhan loved Wei Ying. The third time, I felt Lan Zhan was so in love with Wei Ying. The fourth time, I felt Lan Zhan was deeply and obsessively in love with Wei Ying, was jealous over Wei Ying's other relationships, wanted to be with Wei Ying 24/7. The fifth time I watched, apart from Lan Zhan's devotion, I even saw admiration and adoration from Wang Yibo towards Xiao Zhan all the time. Man! I don't know what else I'll see or feel after the 10th time of watching.
One of the excuses I used to rewatch a drama is that watching different versions of translations gives me some…
If you listen to the conversation carefully, WWX gives Jing Ling's name as Rulan which means "like an orchid". WWX claims orchid is the "gentleman of flowers" (obviously he's thinking about LZ). The "lan" he uses here is 兰 which has the same homophone as the blue 蓝 . That's why Jiang Cheng objects because he says why should Lan Ling Jing Sect and Gusu Lan Sect share the same name. Though they sound the same, they are not of the same characters. Again here, Wei Ying is playing with sounds and characters as they do a lot in Chinese, especially in this drama. I love all these homophones because they are so subtle and can easily be missed by non-Chinese speakers.
