Firstly, I have no idea how WN turned into this uber confident man. There's no trace of that stuttering cinnamon…
You mentioned you ranted on this page while you're on The Untamed page, so I come here to read your comments.
You've said everything I want to say, point to point. Like you, I love the scene when they show WWX and his wise words, but on the other hand, I feel it's a cheap play on our emotions, and I don't really appreciate it. I can't re-iterate enough that they've made the gentle Wen Ning into an American hero type of character, and Dr. Octopus from Spider-man 2 comes to mind. His intelligence and rational thinking in solving mystery/crime make him look like Sherlock Holmes. For crying out loud, why they can't they create something more original, like The Untamed? And the introduction of the Yin metal out of the blue is simply confusing for any viewers who have not watched The Untamed.
To tell the truth, I feel myself very generous in rating this drama, due to the fact that it's related to CQL (I'm giving face to the CQL team), and I don't want to hurt the feelings of the Suibians/ CQL fans. Had it been on it's own as an independent movie (it's supposed to be for people who have no knowledge of the drama), I believe my rating would have been a lot lower.
I realized we Suibians have become something of a family after spending so much time talking about CQL and everything…
Nah, I'm not leaving anytime soon unless someone takes away my computer. But I still have my cell phone (hopefully). It's too comfortable here in this rabbit hole. Winter is coming. I need to hibernate here. XD.
Good for you, finishing in 4 days. XD. Now you can join us in this rabbit hole. Here are what you can do next…
Oh ya, missed that one. Thanks for bringing it in. Never heard any audio dramas before, and this one is amazing! Very revealing, if you know what I mean. XD
Maybe you should pin your video in the discussion board for new viewers, especially for those who are still on the fence. Looking forward to your new videos.
Ah i finished this in 4 days & it feels like i was in a dream & just woke up and don't know what to do now. I…
Good for you, finishing in 4 days. XD. Now you can join us in this rabbit hole. Here are what you can do next (and most of us have done or are still doing):
(in no particular order) 1. re-watch the drama 2. watch the anime 3. read the novel 4. read fanfics 5. watch fanvids 6. read manhua 7. watch/read anything related to Xiao Zhan and Yibo
And if you still feel void, come talk to us. I think someone brings in some lotus seeds, lotus soup and spicy porridge and we can share. XD XD XD.
As a matter of interest, are you moving on? Or are you stuck here in this drama like a bunch of us here?
High fives to you! Talking about soundtrack, I just realized I subscribe to your Youtube channel. You have some pretty good stuff there.
Yeah, I'm kind of moving on, watching the silly Love by Hypnotic and the intense Royal Nirvana. But somehow, I can't fully focus in them. I keep straying back to this page, checking in on my friends here, searching for new videos on Youtube on any shows/interviews/news of Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo. Haven't felt like this for a long time since I was a teenager. Nice feeling though. Love every minute of it. :D
Just finished the show yesterday...It was an amaaaazing ride, I loved it a lot and even more than the novel! Easily…
Howdy, if you're joining us, bring some food, like lotus pods, lotus roots & ribs soup, spicy porridge and anything else you feel like. Some of us haven't eaten since summer. XD XD XD. Just kidding. Welcome to our rabbit hole. It's cozy here and we share almost everything, including food (food for thought, that is XD).
Both of them are wonderful in their own way but I fell in love with the live-action first and ended up watching…
I don't like how they teased us by using Wei Ying's back (knowing that we all love him and long for his return). I'd rather they had not used the appearance of Wei Ying at all. I also don't like them using the Gusu for background at the end. First of all, the CGI looked really faked, unlike the one in CQL where it was hidden and mysterious. Secondly, one can tell that they were just playing with our emotions and I feel that's cheap.

Yes, I agree with you - it lost its celestial feelings totally. It's like another American superhero type of movie (Dr. Octopus - Spider-man 2 comes to mind). No idea who the script writers were, but I believe they had different directors. According to an interview with Ms Yang Xia who's in the CQL team, she mentioned all the movies etc were planned out when they were planning for the live drama. They didn't expect the drama to be such a success (so perhaps they were hoping for other streams of income).
Hmm... u said "She recommended WYB twice", i find it kinda weird. Didn't she said, she passed YB twice when picking…
You're absolutely right. After re-watching the video, I must admit I was wrong. Wang Yibo was not short-listed in the beginning; only when he came in for the audition. That's why he was selected last. Phew! Sorry about that. Almost gave you guys the wrong info.
Yeah, as expected. I don't like this poll in the first place - can be manipulated easily, and the results don't mean a thing. Furthermore, I don't like to label Xiao Zhan as "sexy". He is so pure, like a rose bud in the morning. I'd love to keep a "pure" image of him than mixing him in with the fray.
does anyone know what wei wuxian means when he asks his senior sister "what's its like to like someone" in episode…
After he learns the demonic art, Wei Ying names his flute "Chen Qing Ling". "Chen Qing" in Chinese means old flame or old lover, indicating someone he has once loved. From there, it implies that Wei Ying has fallen in love with Lan Zhan, but he has to call it "over" because of the fact that he himself is now standing on the opposite path to Lan Zhan (being practicing a demonic craft). So when Wei Ying asks Yanli how it is like when one "likes" another person, it shows that he has some special feelings for Lan Zhan but is not sure what it is because in his mind, he feels it's outrageous that he can fall in love with another man.
Hmm... u said "She recommended WYB twice", i find it kinda weird. Didn't she said, she passed YB twice when picking…
Oooooh! Have I misunderstood the term, "pass" she used? In my understanding from a sentence she said before she said "pass" on Yibo, she said Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo were her first choices. So I infer that the "pass" she meant here was "going through" (or meeting the mark) and not in the sense of being "eliminated".
I have to admit, I was multi-tasking when I was watching her video as well as listening to the US impeachment hearing. I'll watch the video again to confirm.

Yeah, perhaps "pass" is the word to use. In any case, I meant to say she "picked out" or "shortlist" Yibo twice for the role of the Lan Zhan character - that's generally the meaning, I guess.
I'm re-posting this here for easier access (also to increase our comments XD):
A video on how the CQL team, in particular Ms Yang Xia, selected the cast. This is a very eye opening video explaining what she saw in each actor and how she made the selection. She really has very discerning eyes and a Midas touch. Unfortunately this video has not been subbed yet, but nonetheless, a valuable insight:
Essentially, Ms Yang said the first actor she matched was Xuan Lu for the Jiang Yanli character, and the last one was Wang Yibo for Lan Wangji. They also left the decision of confirming the 2 main leads to the last. She saw Xiao Zhan who was relatively very low profile at that time, very suitable to play Wei Ying because of the sunny smile Xiao Zhan has. She says he fits the character perfectly. She recommended Wang Yibo to play Lan Wangji twice. When Yibo came in for the audition, she said, straight away she knew he was Lan Wangji because Yibo has that cold look without the arrogance, which is very close to the character.
Another thing she said was, many people are critical that the team come out with the spin-offs and game etc as marketing strategy to capitalize on the success of the drama. She said these were all planned out together with the drama, not something added afterwards. Also she mentioned, there will be 3 movies. 3! folks. She didn't elaborate further.
What an amazing vision Ms Yang has! Bravo to the CQL team.
