Yeah, I'm like, pulling my hair out while waiting for YouTube to upload. It's so slow. Some viewers are already at episodes 18 or so, and we're still waiting for episode 10 to release on YouTube.

Contrary to you, I do love the main female lead, the Yu Ran character. I find her cute, badass, upstanding and a friend worth having. Song Zu Er is new to me, but I find her beautiful and refreshing. Her acting is good too.

Right now, it's only up to episode 22 on Youtube, but on other Chinese channels, it's already up to episode 30 and more. I, like most viewers, can't wait for the slow release on Youtube.

I've only watched 3 episodes and already I'm hooked. The production is fantastic - sound effects, cinematography, costumes/makeup - everything feels like one of those high budget productions like "The Great Wall", and other Hollywood movies; the warriors are big and fearsome! Love it!

Well, let's put it this way - it's a resigned kind of funny, because everything Fu Chou does and everywhere he turns, it tends to be wrong. It's sad funny that you want to throw up your hands.

The scene when Rong Le's hair turns silver, the events leading up to it was, in my mind, hilarious! First of all, Fu Chou bedded the woman whom he thought was Rong Le. He was furious when he found out he slept with the wrong woman. Then he tried to cause harm to Hen Xiang who was still in Rong Le guise, without realizing the women had been switched. He was actually hurting the woman he loved but he didn't know. His heart was never connected with Rong Le's like the way Wu You's heart was. The minute Wu You saw Rong Le, immediately he could tell if it was her or not.

I love the Fu Chou character. He's the grey character. On one hand, he is bad because of his obsession in revenge. But on the other, he's not a truly ruthless person; he cares about his subjects and he has a soft side for Rong Le. The only problem is, people tend to carry out all the killings and bad things under his name, and he gets blamed. Wu You always gets all the good luck, whereas Fu Chou all the bad luck. So much so that, Fu Chou accepts his fate without getting overly mad. This makes us viewers feel for him, because we can certainly relate our own experience with him.

If you have time, start episode 1 with the uncut version. You'd understand the story better, and why Li Chen Yin does what he does. The cut version skips many important details and makes it hard for us to accept what he does.

Yes, it's a sorrowful drama.

Good choice. I found it hard to continue in the beginning, but later, got to enjoy it pretty good.

Lang Kun has been deeply in love with the Empress since young but was put to death. He came back as a different person and took care of her in everything but she didn't know it was him. Eventually she found out, and they were very closed friends from then on. They trusted each other with their lives. However, it's a sad ending for them. She died of her long-term illness.

It took me about 10 episodes in before I found this drama deserved some viewing time. The romance part is more like a distant romance because of the statuses of the individuals. However, one can feel the pain each is suffering. Yes, there's definitely some character development. I like the later parts better.
