Zhu Yi Long must be perfect for these momma's boy roles. First in the Story of Minglan and now in this one. From…
The man-bun was supposed to make him look artistic XD (it's stereotyping).
You're right about Zhu Yi Long's roles in many dramas as a mama boy. Apart from this one and MingLan, the other one is Royal Sister Returns. Even when he played in MiYue, he was also a mama boy.
It's crazy to cast him as a man who loses his girl all the time (I think he's going to lose this one by the look of how this drama is developing). Must be p***ing off many fans.
also agree.1. the acting is very cringe worthy. i'm confused by the male lead's expressions - like they randomly…
Yes, yes, yes. That's exactly what I'm thinking, "I'm confused by the male lead's expressions - like they randomly pan to him and he makes this devilish face as if he's the villain. the female lead exaggerates all her expressions, there's no subtlety in her acting." I don't know if it is supposed to be funny or sad, then I see the FL crying, so I assume it is sad. Boy! I'm so confused.
OMG! This is a cute youth/school drama. Can be as good as "Le Coup de Foudre" and "Put Your Head on My Shoulder". Watched 2 episodes, loving every moment of it.
Despite being called childish, Shao Peng Cheng cares about others' feelings. He self-deprecates to make others feel better about themselves. He respects others' decisions. This is a hard-to-find trait.
Jin Ran's mother, with all due respect, can be a nasty mother-in-law. With a spineless and chauvinistic husband, life is going to be unbearable should anyone marry him.
After 5 episodes, this is my verdict: 1. Bad acting, especially by the main male lead, Jeremy Xu. 2. Bad logic. 3. I don't know if it's supposed to be a comedy or what. The exchanges can be funny and comedic. But when it comes to seriousness, it is still comedic. Furthermore, the villains are also comedic. 4. I cannot see how it can be a tragedy. Everything is a joke.
Should I drop or give it a chance and watch a few more episodes before I decide?
Episode 1. This really befuddled me. Why didn't the acrobatic troupe change their verses knowing that they could get into trouble for repeating the lines provided by the Princess? Some of this logic is weird.
Gosh! Episode 23, when Jin Ran and Zhen Zhen were alone in the hotel room, they couldn't even touch each other's hands. What is this? They are both adults but acting like some middle school kids when boys and girls draw the line clear. The attempted kissing scene was a torture!
Love the Zhao Guan Chao's character. Despite him being a playboy and wants no commitment, he has always watched out for his little sister. Wish to have a big brother like that.
I love Yan Mo's little uncle. Despite all his flaws, he is so warm to the heart and can be counted as a real friend. He reminds me of some kids in my early school years - some trouble makers whom no one in the class liked. But with this character, he only looks bad on the outside, but inside, he's an angel.
This is a drama of pure innocent, friendship, and youth. The self-deprecating jokes are heart warming and endearing. This drama brings me back to my early years of school - what a journey!
