On I Will Never Let You Go Mar 3, 2019
This drama is about to wrap up for me. I'm going to miss my Zhang Bin Bin. Is there another similar character out there right now to take over Zhang? If not, what am I going to do until one finally comes along? :(

You know what, it's really not that bad. They don't actually have that many scenes together. You get a sense that…
Yes, Vin is superb in IWNLYG. You're going to love him and forget Eddie :D

Heck! That's it? He's gone? So quietly? Of all the characters, he is my favorite!
Don't know. I guess we move on. I found my next favorite character already, so I can still live on .... Long live Chinese dramas :D :D :D

Title The Legend of Hao Lan Spoiler
I am going to miss Yi Ren so much.
He refused to see Hao Lan for the last time. Was it because he didn't want to say goodbye? Or was it because he was trying to get her to forget him (asking all his belongings be burnt) so that she could be 'returned' to Lu Bu Wei? Not quite sure what his intention was.

I don't remember everything Yi Ren had said, but I find him the most inspiring character. He was deep but hidden. He never showed off what he knew and how good he was. He was kind, thoughtful, but knew how to say 'No' diplomatically.

I like Wallace Chung in "General and I" but not the FL. She is so beautiful but has no chemistry with me. I find her pretentious. When I first watched "Sound of Desert", like you, I was hooked. I watched Eddie over and over again. I thought I could die for him. But I moved on :)

Ha... Yes, Eddie was my heartthrob for awhile. But I move on, There were Wallace Chung in "General and I", Mark Chao in "Eternal Love", Deng Lun in "Ashes of Love". Mine! I'm such a jerk :D

I know what you mean. When I first started, I watched a few episodes and gave up. I couldn't understand why the high rating. Then I couldn't find anything good to watch, so I went back and watched it again, many months later. It was hard at first to grasp the various realms. But I tried. I was only hooked very much later when Yue Hua appeared. From there, there was no turning back. It's true that there was a lot of misunderstandings which really drove me nuts. But seeing the persistent love that the ML had for his girl, my heart melted.

I know, and look at how they all end. Going all the way out to win power and wealth eventually brings sadness and loneliness, and die a terrible untimely death.

"Eternal love/10 miles peach blossom" - try this one. It's really one boy one girl stuff, for 3 life time and 3 realms. It's really true love. You'll love this. I don't know how many times I've rewatched. It's really very sweet.

Hah... let me distract you. If you haven't watched "I will never let you go", or "Ashes of love", or "Eternal love", I would recommend you to. You'll find your one boy one girl stuff (mine too).

in this drama the women are pretty ruthless and play around with other men
Well, in most Chinese dramas, the women are seemingly weak and helpless, but behind the scene, they are ruthless and scheme a lot. Men seem to be outwitted by women most of the time.

Not a prequel to the story but yes it's about Ying Zheng's mother this time! Ying Zheng and Lady Li also appear…
I share your view.

I like Nie Yuan better with his half bald hairstyle in Story of Yanxi Palace. That's shallow of me but there you…
Hahaha... I'm a totally opposite of you. I love historical dramas, except dramas for the Qing dynasty --- I don't like pig tails. I find handsome men lose their appeal in pig tails. Therefore, I don't watch those dramas. I've not watched Yanxi Palace. You may say I don't know what I'm missing but it's alright; there are plenty I can choose from :D

@chinesedramafan: How did you like the color scheme from Qin? I like both equally b/c they are helpful for the…
I am now actually watching a very cute drama called "I will never let you go". It's in the wuxia genre (Chinese fantasy sort). It's not based on any actual historical events, but very entertaining and endearing. The lead actors are pretty good and very good looking, especially the male lead.
Depending on your taste, for me, I like historical dramas, be they based on actual events or wuxia (fantasy). Here are some of the more recent ones (I don't watch anything before 2015 because Chinese dramas improved greatly in the recent years and there are just too many to pick from):
Ever Night (wuxia), Eternal love/10 miles of peach blossoms (fantasy), Nirvana in fire (wuxia), Ashes of Love (fantasy), Secrets of 3 kingdoms (adaptation of historical events), Legend of Mi Yue (adaptation of historical events), The Advisors Alliance (adaptation of historical events). Phew! Bet these would last you for months :D

Is this drama really silly? Becouse I am not much of a comedy fan...
It's not silly as becoming stupid like many other dramas. It's cute, and humorous at times, not stupid. It's light-hearted, and may make you laugh at times, not for some stupid talks or acts, but for heart-warming interactions. You should give it a try. You may fall in love with the actors, not just the lead actors, but also the supporting ones.

@chinesedramafan: How did you like the color scheme from Qin? I like both equally b/c they are helpful for the…
Yes, I find, overall, the whole drama is very tastefully executed, in every sense including story, acting, colors, music and so on. How accurate the story in depicting the actual events happened about 2,000 years ago is anybody's guess. But for dramatic effects, I think this drama has achieved its goal. Having said that, I know not many viewers appreciate this type of drama, and hence, probably a rating not as high as it deserves.
So @SailBeneteau, I take it that you enjoy this drama as much as I do?
